True, when I saw how ripped some anime characters were, I started training myself.
Yeah saitama was actually my motivation (as goku is not human and does impossible things) and started doing 100 push ups,100 sit ups(this one is hard because my butt bone hurts each time I do a sit-up)100 squats and 2 Kim run at full speed before slowing down to a jog for the rest of the 3 km (yea I know 10 km is just too much)
@@sambhavsongara3087 My motivation wasn't Saitama, but guys who got all bi- (as I have not watched One Punch Man, nor Baki back then). My workout also wasn't as hard as Saitamas, because I rather wanted to increase the difficulty with time. And now, after 16 months, I have a six-pack, and fine legs, biceps, triceps and shoulders.

How do you know that the first anime I watched was pokémon?🗿
In my country, the telecast of some animes were very limited and Pokemon was probably among very few animes that was released in my native dub.
I remember watching it every noon, feeling dedicated and devoted to memorise each and every single Pokemon's name there is lol although the series came to a halt somewhere around hoenn and never really continued...
Years later as a 14 year old highschooler, I discovered about this whole @$$ medium of animes and the pandemic + my worst time of my life gave me a final push on the way to becoming a full fledged weeb/otaku or whatever you wanna call it. (Although think there's a slight difference between those two terms)
From a depressed wanderer at the age of 14 to an enlightened 'snowflake' lover, to finnally becoming an elite watcher and after being done with almost every watch worthy stuff to finnally becoming a degenerate and marking a start of my 'adulthood' phase as an otaku... **sighs** sometimes I wander if I could get back at enjoying some stuff again for the first time... And some other time really makes me think hard "what the fck am I doing with my life?"

I've watched 350+ anime, but still prefer dubbed.
Watching subbed/dubbed is just a preference, it doesn't change how much of a fan you are.
I like dubbed just because I do. If a show comes out and I really can't wait, I can watch subbed, I don't mind it, but I definitely enjoy dubbed anime more.
This whole thing originally came about due to old anime dubs having poor voice acting, which they usually did. However, anime is way bigger in the west now, so the dubbing is a whole lot better. The origin of the reason for this gatekeeping was forgotten and people mindlessly debate about which is the best.
I watched the original Higurashi a while back, after watching more recent anime, and it made me realise how shit dubbing used to usually sound. However, I got used to it as I watched it.
Then the next part of the anime didn't have a dub, but I still watched it. I'd have probably got more from it if I could have watched it dubbed, however.
I like both, but I prefer dubbed much more. It's a silly notion that you're not a fan if you watch dubbed. Gatekeeping at its finest, and there's a whole lot of it in the anime community.
Being a "true anime fan" is about how much you personally like anime. You don't need all these prerequisites. The one prerequisite I would say one would need is to have at least 50-100 different animes watched. If you've only seen 10, you can be a fan of those particular 10 anime, but anime as a whole? Someone that's seen just 10 hasn't explored it enough to say they're a fan of anime altogether. It's just that they're a fan of 10 animes they've watched. I think 50-100 is a good number to have experienced enough genres and different animes to be able to say you're a fan. You need to be able to point out your favourite parts and least favourite parts about anime.
For me, I aren't a fan of mecha, it's my least favourite genre. I know this from watching many anime. You can't come to conclusions like this if you've only seen 10, and when you refer to anime, you refer to anime as a whole. Not just the 10 one has seen.
Like I said, I'd say that's the only prerequisite. Other than that, nobody else can decide how much you love anime as a whole/how much of a fan you are.
