Damien Rice - I Remember (live)
Vložit
- čas přidán 29. 09. 2011
- Recorded live at St. Luke's Church, London for the BBC Four Sessions, featuring Lisa Hannigan.
Once again, this is taken from a slightly low quality vid found on the internet that was squished together with the wrong aspect ratio. I attempted to correct that as an experiment as well as removing an electric hum noise from the audio just to see how it all turned out in the end. - Hudba
Every year, for 11 years, I come back to watch this video. It is beautiful.
The same 🙏❤️
2020 and still got goosebumps.. who's with me??
2021
@@tztzz February 2021. These two need to go back together.
March/2021
4/15/2021 still the best
If you can find Cold Water from this gig, give it a listen.
This is one of the greatest things ever recorded. Lightning in a bottle.
Love that phrase, and very apt in this case!
Truly
I'm in love with this version of the song since the first time I heard it, 11 years ago. This is Damien Rice at his very top. Absolutely insane. It is so good that it hurts!
lisa sings from her soul
The most metal acoustic guitar and cello song. EVER!
I'm not one for the whole 'these two should get back together' bollocks, they've both moved on and made great music individually....but by god they were good :-)
It would be interesting to see them work together again because of how their two styles developed (mfff and at swim)
7 years later, that's still the best piece of music I've ever heard...
Bazuzeus same. Just came back for a fix ❤️👏👏👏👏
I agree, dont like the album version at al
Ad another year to that pal 🙏
True. Those two
U r not kidding either this is a masterpiece
You can easily tell the quality of the artist by his live performances. Damien is one of the best. And when the live performance of a song is better than the album version, well then, you know you've discovered a treasure.
ashtray0belief best concert I’ve ever been to
@@DMRJ53 You were there! Blessed.
I honestly believe this is what it sounds like when someone is on the edge of sanity.
Truthfully
Agreed!
For me this song represents and feels like the epitome of emotional pain culminating in an incredibly beautiful sexual explosion and as such it is the most powerful musical experience I've ever had (mentally and not physically.) No song I've ever heard has come close to conveying love, passion and sexuality to this extent.
@@DalidaD I love your description! You nailed it!
Do you mean edge of insanity?
Me at 1:00 - "Solid live performance of this song"
Me at 3:57 - "I feel like something is building here"
Me at 4:59 and after - ::crying tears of joy and feeling like I've seen Jesus::
Damn this performance was a journey.
🤔😁😂😂🤣🤣✌️
Exactly
Amazing 😍😍
Sarah ya likkle soul ye
The smile on the cellists face at 5:06 makes me think she will remember that performance the rest of her life!!!
Simply brilliant
This song is greater than itself.
That sums it up.
This is something sublime, on another level, a religous experience. Time stopped for a moment.
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Damn this song hits hard, as an old school metalhead this is not my usual wheelhouse, but his passion for music really does shine.
If you like this one listen to 9 crimes. Lisa & Damian. From another old metal head.
@@jessicaspenneberg8479 Will do, thanks for the rec.
Glad I saw your comments..I was starting to think I must have crossed some old man threshold of some kind..lol
Absolutely same here
The soft plucking sound of the old worn out guitar, the brown blazer, sombre tone cello, beautiful Lisa with her angelic voice right beside Damien. Ahhh... The good old days...
Where have they gone?
@@virginiaknighten4687 He broke up with Lisa, created a heartfelt album, then went hiding in Iceland or something 😂
@@rt09pachuau21Iceland would probably be a great place to go to get away from it all. Thanks!! But I still wonder where are ...The Good Old Days...
💗
“I remember it well
The first time that I saw
Your head around the door
'Cause mine stopped working
I remember it well
There was wet in your hair
I was stood in the stairs
And time stopped moving
I want you here tonight
I want you here
'Cause I can't believe what I found
Oh, and you're here and I want you here
Nothing is taking me down, down, down
I remember it well
Taxied out of a storm
To watch you perform
And my ships were sailing
I remember it well
I was stood in your line
And your mouth, your mouth, your mind
I want you here tonight
I want you here
'Cause I can't believe what I found
Oh, and you're here and I want you here
Nothing is taking me down, down, down
Except you my love.
Except you my love
Come all ye lost
Dive into moss
I hope that my sanity covers the cost
To remove the stain of my love
Paper mache
Come all ye reborn
Blow off my horn
I'm driving real hard
This is love, this is porn
God will forgive me
But I, I whip myself with scorn, scorn
I want to hear what you have to say about me
Hear if you're gonna live without me
I want to hear what you want
I remember December
And I want to hear what you have to say about me
Hear if you're gonna live without me
I want to hear what you want
What the hell do you want?”
💗
Lisa and Damien take us us on a rollercoaster with this song - it starts gently, from fragile, tender emotions of love to feelings of pain and despair into heavy, aggressive, RAW expressed emotions. It really covers all there is to feel in difficult times with a partner/lover.
This song bloody deserve a trillion views
One of the best live performances I've ever seen, perhaps the best. Lisa Hannigan also deserves congratulations...
Absolutely 💯! She made these early albums a BEAUTY.
One of the best live performances I've ever seen.
CZcams needs to add that love button, to like this is not enough. 5 years listening to this and that turn still hits with the strength of a thousand universes. God
A big regret of mine is not seeing Damien and Lisa perform live! Their music together was magic ❤
This is one of the few youtube videos that's got it's own soul
The best things he made, he made with Lisa.
lol, try his 3rd album "My Favourite Faded Fantasy"...its MasterFuckingPiece..
I would give my left bollock to see Lisa and Damien reunited in concert. Man, that would be epic. I guess that ship has sailed, but I'm holding on to the dream.
I’ll add my right bollock, so there is a complete set of them. Let’s make this happen!
@@throughthewindowpane Amen, Brother!

Extraordinary, One of the Greatest Performance of All Time....
This song and this stunning interpretation are so intensive and emotional that make my cry and I don't know why
Same here.
I wouldn't hesitate to pay $100 for a Bluray version of this 10 minutes song. At least BBC should broadcast this from the master tape or something. If it happens, someone please make cop... and uproa...for us.
This song is sweet and crunchy, like my jam and toast. I keep coming back to listen to this song after so many years.
at first I thought it's a bit quiet and wasn't sure how it would pick up, but my god, this is something you don't see these days anymore. Masterful
Still one of the best performances EVER! There’s so much feeling in it. 😮
2021 and still one of my very favorites.
Wow,.. this give relief in the middle of a divorce.. the emotions, the anger, the silence, the loudness. Wow.
3 years later but one hundred percent agree!
How anyone can dislike that Perfomance is beyond me!
2021 and is still one of the best songs ever
One of the best song and performance ever ! ❤
Tom Osander deserves so much credit. He uses dynamics masterfully and his technique is perfect. Holds all the backbone to the rhythm and ambience.

seeing this live was one of the most amazing experiences ever. Damien Rice is 1000x better live than on an album. and he's amazing on an album so.....
Mind blowing performance
I am blown away by this. A perfect soundscape. A view of the mind of a musical genius.
And what a great view it is!!
One of those songs I keep coming back to… this song is so many emotions in one, so very intense. It’s got every feeling, all at once.
It is absolutely beautiful.
It’s been a long journey in my life, I’ve pass through many stages in my life and always come back to this performance.
It’s a pleasure to see you perform live Damian, thank you
I remember and I don't want to remember anymore ... This song touches your soul in such different and so profound ways ... It really is a journey through all your emotions
This is one of my favourite performances of anything, someone else said lightning in a bottle and I 100% agree.
I also fell entirely in love with Lisa Hannigan as a teenager after seeing this. And watching this now, 10 years on, I feel the same way.
I heard this before hearing the album track, so this will always be the right version to me.
Their chemistry is incomparable
8:49 the look on his face is.... NAILED IT!
lmfao SOOO true.
This today is still amazing and brilliant by damien and Lisa and co.
Mr. Rice, you're beautiful! I'm practically in tears.
Still gud tbh fam
addictive. beautiful. cruel. love
Gives me chills everytime
When I think about creative partnerships that came to an end - Damien and Lisa are the two I feel saddest about. They were absolutely perfect on stage together. I so hope they perform together again one day.
I first heard this song around 2008 or 9 and it has continued to live rent free in my head ever since.
The part 5:07, the switch of rhythm again and the smile on her face, goosebumps, every single time. Even after the 100th time watching it. Amazing.
Chills every time!!
Beyond this realm, these two
They were such a beautiful force!
❤❤❤
My only wish is that their romance would've spark once again. The world need this couple again
Metal heads like this because of the intensity. Ooomph
Wonderful emotions and what a powerful performance :)
Damien is wonderful ... friend of the family 😉
Stephen Jackson
yes..I knew ,Sir :)
all demons :)
but this performance..I call this just ecstasy :))
+Sara D yeah!
+Stephen Jackson wow lucky you! ♥
had just found this group way back when i went to ixtapa mexico as a skydiving instructor and those memories stay with me and everytime i hear his music i`m reminded of the places , people and relationships that came from that time .
Sounds wonderful...
I saw Damien solo about 15 years ago then with Lisa and Vyvienne a year later then just last week with Frencesca. All three shows were so atmospheric it almost feels like you’re in another dimension as he plays.
she's an angel
Who ed Sheeran wants to be, and will never come close too .
Masterpiece ❤
My first time hearing this absolutely amazing stunning performance. Oh dear lord....I never...
Funking Brilliant!
The only thing more powerful and moving than this performance is actually feeling this way.... I remember ...
I was listening to some new Lisa Hannigan songs, which led me to listen to a bunch of Damien songs then this, always coming back to this song, this live performance.
There is music, and then there is a song. A tale which penetrates your thickest walls, challenges your most steadfast virtues, and in its flawlessness leaves you in a heap, staring back at decisions, moments, mistakes. Throat tight, eyelids welled, leveled.
Stunning song and performance. Time stopped for a moment. Very nice develops.. both are amazing. The whole Band is as One...
Nice 1 Mr Rice & thank you for signing Rodrigo y Gabriella , after finding them busking in Ireland 👍🎸
Colm Molloy, I remember it well...... so many memories dude x
I love both these artists and this song is one of their best versions of this. I cried seeing Lisa coz I’d just lost my father and I saw her warm up in C’Ville w the one song on my list Lille then being poor spent my last dollars on scalper tickets and ran up to see it front row that night.
2020, still need the HD quality version...
Stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After all this years, still in love with this music
I was looking for this video for 8 years, so glad that I found again
woah i can die now. daaaaaaaaammmmmnnnnnnn!
Stunned... If I've ever seen anything this good, I've forgotten - No. If I had, I wouldn't forget it.
what a performance!!!
simply this song is so beautiful and sad at the same time...
Magistrale performance ! Merci.
I just cried watching this in a cafe
Nooosssaaaaa........ isso foi incrível!!!!!! Eu tenho esse CD da época, mas nunca tinha assistido a este vídeo ao vivo assim no palco. Muito bom.
I love this, amazing lyrics and what a performance. Can't stop crying..
be proud of that creation, this moment !! this is precious and amazing !!!! thank you
daniel curatolo
+daniel curatolo I was sitting home late one night half falling asleep in front of Letterman, waking up near the end of the show just as the Dave was announcing a musical guest I had never heard of, and in the next minute I was mesmerized by the angelic voice of Lisa Hannigan singing this song. Was lucky enough to catch them live just before she left the band, for me it's her voice that draws me to Damien.
+bogeyfree
I think Lisa is incomparable - at her best I'm sure she has contact with some heavenly force. It's weird and mystifying that I cannot remember how or when I discovered her music.
Have you ever heard her version of Bob Dylan's Just Like Tom Thumbs Blues, it is completely mesmerizing.
+bogeyfree
Yes, it's really good. Have you heard her cover of 'Couldn't Love You More' by John Martyn - there are a few versions - I like the one from The Artists' Den as it was live. Have you heard, 'We the Drowned' ?
I revisit this video every couple of years... amazing!
Love it, love it, love it... it brings me on my knees and up to the sky in the same moment!
Now this is why Music was invented - so it could evolve into this.
This is bliss, perfection!
Saw this live in Fremantle Western Australia. Completely memorised for the full show.
Absolutely beautiful, the whole album and the band.
me pone la piel de gallina esta cancion...me encanta!
Me fascinan las canciones de Damien y Lisa...eran una pareja perfecta...que pena que tan bella relación terminará en nada😢
The moment of brilliance from Damien and Lisa.
La canción más hermosa del planeta
I saw them perform this at the Paramount Theatre in Berkeley Ca a few years back. Absolutely mesmerizing!
ffffffffffffffffffffffff*cking amazing. it's worth every tear.
Ur affort much appreciated... Pumping my heart... Amazing... Utterly amazing ...!
mind blowing. . . . .
thank you so so much
