We ended up with our Jeremy 3 months after losing Ludo. He was a gift from the mother in law(who sadly now is also no longer with us). Like you guys, I felt so much guilt over the new pup, but the silence in the house had been unbearable. Any pet lover will understand they are not there to replace the pet before them who take away such a chunk of us when they have to leave us. ❤❤❤
You can never replace a family member and cookie will be in our hearts always, but like you said the silence and emptiness of the house was unbearable, there are still moments I find myself tearing up but I know it will get easier as we have an Ellie to distract us, thank you so much for your messages, they have helped and mean alot to us both, I hope one day we can meet and I can give you a hug
I cried when I heard you'd lost your cookie and now I've started again because I feel your pain still. But Ellie is so beautiful and I'm sure that she will help you both. It's been 8 years now since I lost my little Elsa and I couldn't face losing another dog. I still miss her so so much, but now I'm Auntie to a little cross pug and Westie called Jakey and I regularly walk him and have him when my friend goes on holiday. We've already made plans that should anything ever happen to her in the future I shall definitely take care of him. Basically I have the benefit of not being tied down but more of a co- owner who loves him so much. I still miss Elsa although the pain does ease slightly. You'll both get there eventually. I've woke up to go to work this morning feeling poorly and a little bit low but this has cheered me up a bit what lovely news guys!! I understand totally the guilty feeling but you're going to make Ellies life amazing and visa versa I'm sure! ❤
Great news I'm sure Cooky will now be able to rest in the knowledge you have another dog, I believe after being told by vets over the years and others who believe as I do when we lose a family member like this they need to know we will be ok before they can rest I know it sounds daft and if it is I think most would agree the best way to get over something like this is to give a home to another dog
Well when cookie died it left our home empty and miserable so I think Ellie was a good distraction and now she has become a family member that we both love and adore, thank you for your kind words and support on our channel
