Everyone prefers manual handbrakes unless they actually work on their own car! Ebrakes may need software to work on, but I'd rather spend 15minutes with a laptop than the usual 1 hour messing around with springs and adjusters. And once those brake dust shields do rot through where the retainer springs sit, you need to remove the wheel hub to replace them which is a huge hassle.

Great video, very clear camera work and explanation. Easy to follow with good audio and no intrusive "music". I have Subscribed to your channel and "liked" this video. You recommended "EMANUAL ONLINE"... I have been searching for a good repair manual for ages so I used your ANT code to get a discount when I purchased the Manual for my E38 740i. There is a problem! The EMANUAL is useless!?! Ridiculously small screen in centre of my 14" computer screen...too small to read... no functionallity, no pictures as shown on their website... spent hours on it to no avail. Could you suggest a solution before I request a refund? Many thanks...

Have you got the springs installed correctly?. Surely the brake adjuster should not be rubbing on the spring. Maybe the springs should be swapped.

Yes its correct, if you look at the image I put in the video from the bmw workshop manual its identical, the spring stops the adjuster rotating when driving, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

@@aaanton11it appears the shoes aren't sitting on the adjuster piston groves correctly. The spring shouldn't hang like that.
