I think they meant the other members already have 3 Grammy Awards. So it would be their fourth win, while Matt’s first. Not that Matt would win it solo.
So wanting PTX to win so Matt will get his first with the group.
@@davidlyders6941 you are correct. Since Matt had a bigger part than usual, it would be extra special if they got a Grammy for it.
To me they all shined but thus was Matt's show. I'm sure everyone expected mitch to get the solo with high notes because this song was made for his voice. But ptx are masters at doing what you least expect. This was matt declaring loudly, I am NOT Avi's replacement anymore. I AM the pentatonix bass. With a stomp.
They ARE using all the members better. Love it. Thank you for your enthusiastic reaction. I love this one, too. Not only did they upgrade the original, but they also upgraded their own version they sung many years ago.
There are no words in any language that can describe the beauty of this performance. This was just transcendent. This was not a Wall of Sound, this was an Avalanche or a Tsunami.
The silence at the beginning has freaked out at least 50% of the reactors I've seen watch this video, LOL! It spooked me out the same way the first time I watched it too.
Not taking anything away from any of the others in the group, but this is a Matt and Kirstie show for me - Matt's soulful and emotional solo, and Kirstie's finishing off the song with those highs - it's a marvelous arrangement and performance!

This is a masterpiece. I loved your reaction. All 5 shined in their own way. Scott and Matt starting at the beginning and then their harmonies. Kevin all the way. And Mitch and Kirstie were fantastic throughout and at the end oh my goodness.! That last “divine” by Kirstie was otherworldly. Together they created something magical and beyond what they could have created individually. Best version I have ever heard. ❤❤❤❤❤
I fell in love with Pentatonix from the very beginning and I firmly believe that as a group they have always utilized all the members. They became Pentatonix because of Scott but they have gotten where they are because they all participate and contribute. You know how we say they don’t do covers but rather they do upgrades. Well, with this song they upgraded their own upgrade. They first did O Holy Night in 2012 just one year after winning the Sing Off.
Matt absolutely crushed it. This was an experience. I just sat in awe the whole time.
This is now my favorite carol, just otherworldly!!! Reaction was great! Upgrade complete, mothership called LOL 👽👽👽👽👽's

Fantastic reaction! I love that they did a new arrangement for this song, their original take on it is lovely, but this is a whole other animal. I keep having to raise the bar on what I think perfect sounds like.
O cover divine!! As I’ve said before, the angels in heaven were furiously taking notes when they first heard this cover. This is my favorite cover of this for sure and is tied for my favorite of PTX with Kiss From a Rose and The Prayer. It is literally beyond words to describe how epic and phenomenal they are, and how they just (somehow!) continue to get better!! 💜 Chills and goosebumps even after hearing it over 100 times.

I have listened to this song many times now, and I get goosebumps every single time when Kirstie comes in with that high belt. The arrangement was stupendous, and everyone was just amazing in their parts.

This was an outstanding performance. Kevins percussion during Matts solo was NEXT level. Those deep 'thumps' were just amazing and I loved the part where the camera was on him and he brings his hands together in front of him for a deep 'thump' ♥️ BTW..New subscriber 👋

To add to your "O Holy Night" theme, here's a very different rendition, as performed in December 2022 by Avi Kaplan and his touring band. Avi hadn't performed any holiday music since leaving PTX in 2017, but he threw together this arrangement on the fly at the last minute in order to perform it as a thank you final encore at the 3 Texas cities that he'd had to postpone shows for earlier in the tour. 😊❤ Hi again. I agree with you on both points, the clappy thingy and Kevin. I was disappointed that Kevin was, under utilized. I also agree that the clapping is probably a recording live. However, I also saw an early version that they did with Avi. They were sitting outside on a long downed tree trunk. They did they clapping in that video too. It's just a guess, but I think a pretty good one; I believe that they recorded themselves doing all the clapping parts. And so it's still them, in my opinion! 😉😅 Luv ya Kaireem! 😊❤❤

Apologies on biting at you on the other PTX Reaction - white winter hymnal. I was having a bad day and just saw your comment and saw it as negative and just reply in a bad way.
