Ty from a Irish fan all hope yous go on to win it now, NZ comments have been very modest not cocky or arrogant 2 great teams.

Such a pity,such a shame
We need to be proud of ourselves and Ireland were brilliant, congratulations to New Zealanders if you're not perfect against them they'll hurt you for it.
Agree 👍 we also as a country have to start fully believing in this team. The amount of quarter final curse bullshit the Irish media were feeding the public was ridiculous. If law of attraction is real we really fucked ourselves over
I got a sense of forced belief from the Irish fans, and it didn’t help. It’s healthy to know that even if you’re #1 it’s tiny margins as the big man says in this video, it comes down to luck etc. On balance statistically even when you’re the best team in the world coming into a World Cup you’re still more likely to get knocked out than to win it.
@@MMM-28-28as a South African, what you say is spot on. Our media has the same issue with our cricket team in world cups. 4x semi finals an no finals. Media labels them like crazy. Country should support the teams..especially ireland. Lost once in more than a year. Proper effort. Will be an easy win in the 6 nations next year i think. Cheers.
Spot on. Ireland didn't do a lot wrong to be fair. The start could have rattled Ireland. At 13-0, New Zealand often run away with it against most teams. But this Irish side has so much belief and came back. Just a couple of critical turning points in the match that was the difference I feel, the held up over the line by Jordy Barret which was courageous with 9 minutes to go then the drop out, next thing Doris knocks it forward, Jonny missed a penalty which he would rarely miss. Fine margins are so crucial to the outcome as against New Zealand we all know they need to be taken, and NZ took all the chances they got. It's a cruel tournament, the World Cup. It took us 24 years after 87 to finally win it. I feel the quarter final is a bit of a gorilla on there back but given what happened to NZ in NZ last year, they were prob the opponent Ireland could had done without at least till the Final. We could have done them a favour by beating France, and that could have been avoided. I do feel for the Emerald Green. I didn't want them knocked out this early. Unfortunately, they had to play us..

ABs were fantastic. Well done on the win. To be fair Ireland could just as easily have won that game. In the last few minutes NZ put in 100 tackles according to the stats. And then Jordi Barrett’s try saving hold. For Irish people the result was a killer. Still haven’t got over it.

Ireland just never really took advantage of 15v14 for 20 minutes. A quarter of the game. A champion team seizes those gifts and hammers them home. To have kept the Irish always chasing the score shows where they lost it. AB’s defense was immense.
in fairness, the ABs were brilliant at managing that time by great kicking

Respect to Ireland. Awesome defense by the All Blacks won them the game in the last 10mins. As for the world cup draw all teams have known the draw for the past 3yrs so no time to complain about it now.
@@Middle-Earth007 yeah.. but remember we had to play South Africa, Scotland and then NZ consecutively before we had a sniff of a semi final. @@Pfessor_MoriartyIreland definitely didn't bottle it. Typical bandwagoner comment.
Having your defence targeted strategically where it is weak is not letting in soft tries it’s being outplayed. Chipping over the top into space. And running with pace and skill at fowards off first phase is brilliant attack. Until you can admit that you will stay quarter finalists
Agreed, I appreciate they're hurting but the "soft tries" line isn't a good look
True
True
Line out killed us today
Its funny how they think they gave away soft scores - when they were actually well constructed AB tries - Jordan's was brilliant skill from Ritchie M; Lester's from Beaudies' skill; Ardie's was a great buildup as well - whereas Irelands were from a dubious penalty try; a try when Smith was off the field and a weak tackle on Aki...
Realistically Ireland shouldn't be leaving such a huge gap at tail of lineout for Mo'unga... Ball off the top of the line out, Smith to Mo'unga and then straight through, that's pretty poor defence. All credit to NZ though, ye were the better team and congrats on the win
And the other 2 tries, still soft, nope.
@@graemereilly1806 Yes all NZ tries were well worked and brilliantly taken but that doesn't mean Ireland's defence & discipline wasn't softer at times than we've come to expect. Some very frustrating penalties such as Murray needlessly obstructing the jumper on kick chase

Have to be honest we weren't the better team going into this match. Unfortunately the hoodoo continues for Ireland but they have shown over past few years a much brighter future is beckoning & I'm sure that'll entail a WC trophy. What a baptism of fire.
This was Ireland's best chance ever to win a world cup,if not now then never I'm afraid.
The lineout was "frustrating" Paul.
Very frustrating.
Why am I not sentimental about any of this really? I dearly wanted Ireland to get over the line last night. I'm Irish. Watched rugby since the 70s. A great heaving game last night. No shame. Beaten by a ravenous and skilled New Zealand. Sexton didn't make it. Neither did O'Gara before him or O'Driscoll. So be it. That's life and he'll recover and enjoy the rest of his life.
It's time. Ireland needed to move on. Younger players have to be given the new opportunities to experience these events. We can't be a retirement send-off side each WC. The team needs new blood so that we have options that suit the gameplan.
Sexton was a great player but never the speediest and never the best kicker. Last night, he had opportunities to dart forward himself into openings but couldn't. Younger, ambitious feet are needed to complete this relatively young team. I'd smile today. It's a good new beginning for Ireland.
oi what about the line out mate? ive MHI about watching that line out falling apart..#ask the reel fkn questions
You people here need to respect your team. Ireland just lost to a hungrier team thats all
Ireland will come back stronger! 💚🏉🏆
That's good but the question is will Ireland ever get pass a quarter final, monkey 🐒 on the back is now a massive gorilla🦍
How about talking about how our lineout was a failure Paul? Why can't we stop bottling big games?
Ireland played well, it just gos to show it takes a huge effort to win a world cup and the pressure is different to any other rugby competition. I think its also a mental thing and Ireland have a mental block regarding world cups
Yeah absolutely that block has become a brick wall now
I believe that we need to be a little bit hard with ourselves, Ireland play a great game in attack and almost always in defence, but if you compare with their regular performance, there were some mistake that doesn´t happen frequently:
- 4 or 5 lineout missed, just like in SA game, didnt improve in that area
- 1° phase try, JDF doesn´t miss tackle, like that tackle against Richie Mounga
- Penalty kick almost in front of the post
- CD knock on in the half of the field.
Also Cane and Savea improve their performance in the right moment. . . . that´s what big teams do in this stages, we didn´t, still proud of the team because Irish rugby has improve a lot in the last 20 years, except in the world cups :(
NZ gave away two very soft tries also. Getting held up over the line was the decisive , crucial moment, a try there would have been a huge boost.
Jordi Barrett won them the game in the end. If Kelleher had grounded that the game was over.
For the love of God we were a man down twice what more do you want
Kiwi here, I still think Ireland had the best team at RWC 2023. That Ireland team has been the world bench mark for the last 3 years.

No questions as to why the line out has been an absolute disaster throughout the tournament, with the scrum coming a close second, not the night to be asking those questions I suppose but they are questions that’ll need to be asked somewhere down the road.
I would stop saying small margins for this game in particular.
Ireland were against 14 men for 20 minutes. You would expect the number one team in the world to be clinical and take advantage of the situation but they didn’t capitalise. NZ did extremely well given the circumstances and missed calls against them.
😂😂😂
A great game! This is the best Irish team I’ve seen and they should have beaten the least disciplined All Blacks team in 10 years. However, even with two more yellow cards against the All Blacks they weren’t quite good enough. I do think Ireland got overconfident and didn’t acknowledge some luck (the role of cards and refereeing) in their historic NZ series win and recent record run.
When the whips were cracking , they weren’t there
You know New Zealand has gone into many World Cups as the #1 team in the World and lost. For years people said the All Blacks were chokers because of those losses. The World Cup is extremely difficult to win because EVERY team lifts when playing for it. Ireland you have started to learn what New Zealanders learnt 4 maybe 5 World Cups ago, being #1 in the World means nothing at a world cup, it is a difficult thing to win and maybe now you understand how proud kiwi's are of winning it 3 times. Your time will come Ireland, but sometimes you have to loose a few to appreciate the victory.
I think to say "To give away some soft scores" is to do the ABs and Ireland a disservice. ABs are masters of making something of almost nothing. Ireland were immense and very few teams even on their best days would not succumb to the Irish composure and phase building. Unfortunately for Ireland, it was the ABs and they showed up with a point or two to prove. ABs earned the win but Ireland can certainly feel hard done by to not get past a quarter final overall, I think they have been and are good enough to be in the top 4.
Hard loines, Pauline.
'We should have won'...I don't think so Paul. NZ was razor focused and they were not going to let that happen!! Congrats to an awesome display of attacking rugby and sterling defence by NZ. Happy to take down the World Number 1 team who deserve every accolade for playing superb rugby.
Ireland is a better team than NZ. Even Kiwis acknowledge that and he’s right, Ireland should have won. They failed to finish at least two tries. NZ played outstanding rugby but they certainly didn’t run away with the game. Ireland is far too good for that. Another day it would have been an Irish victory. They’ve still beaten the ABs in five of their past eight meetings. The numbers don’t lie
You are right the numbers don't lie. Check the score again. The better team won... To be sure.

Any team regardless of who they are will be favourites against Ireland if they meet in future Quarter finals.
Ireland desperately need to peak during the knockout phase if they're any chance.
It's not about peaking at the right time. Ireland didn't go into this rugby world cup cold. We were probably in the best form.of our lives. Playing a ten and ten every game is impossible. Constantly is good but in knock out rugby you need to elevate your performance against the opponent you're playing. New Zealand did that and we didn't.
What a load of nonsense saying we SHOULD have won. And no, you didn't GIVE the ABs soft tries. Each try was earned. And ruthlessly taken. And what does it matter that a back stopped a possible maul try. Great defense is great defence.

@antonellaluque4532 more excuses! beautiful Antonella
Choking is a dumb concept, its not even an accurate word to use.
Their lineout malfunctioned as did their scrum (at least in the ref's eyes)and they defended poorly at times (coughing up an easy try)
No one will beat NZ losing those three things above (even our win against SA could be put down to SA 'choking' on their kick penalties)
Did u see the lineouts of France v SA ?(they all won theirs-----you don't need to 'choke' in order to have your lineout functioning poorly-----Paul O Connell unfortunately takes some blame).
Now,my point to you a month ago was for Ireland to treat the QF as their only! concern (not to worry about SA in the pool stages or France in a QF)
Ireland needed to approach their QF with freshness and passion verging on revenge or anger
(Instead they got super up for the SA and Scotland game, and by the time the All Blacks rolled around,Ireland looked faded or ghostly white (Sextons face during the Haka made me believe Ireland would lose-----he,and the team, needed to be in the same state that ROG and HAYES were in before the 2007 game against England in Ctoke Park 2007).
So instead of this 'choking' concept we need to accept that our lineout and scrum and defence had some major issues which O Connell and Farrell failed to rectify.
Also,Farrell playing our A Side every game surely led to tiredness being a factor.
And,I believe psychologically they approached that match in the wrong mindset (Andy was too Zen-----he needed to put that team on a War or Seige mentality just as the NZ team did themselves).
Are you on Instagram or Facebook or Tiktok? (You are as pretty as hell)
Are you half Italian?
What part of Ireland are you living in.
At the very least I want a hug or a kiss on the cheek if we ever met,ok?

In a game like this, you take your opportunities. The Ref sent 2 ABs to the bin for 20mins total, key players a halfback and a hooker. It's those moments you cash in - pressure periods and Ireland more than had the rub of the green. Ireland can hold their heads high, they were the benchmark - awesome players and well-coached. It's those little things in big games that matter and the team that keeps its cool end up winning. They tried and tried and cant fault the effort, it could have gone to anyone with 5 mins to go. Courageous defence won the day for NZ.
NZ were so good even two of the three Irish tries were by Kiwis 😎
You're lineout tactics potentially added to that defeat. Just saying
England have literally had the easiest run towards the Semi's, World Rugby needs to change the seeding format during the play-offs. Ireland should have played Fiji. France vs Argentina, South Africa vs Wales and New Zealand vs England. Ireland having the number 1 ranking deserved a lower ranked apponent. No excuses vs NZ though, better team won on the day by a very slim margin. Ireland dominated possession and territory, just not good enough on the day. Well done NZ, now go win it all!
Kicking the pill away constantly didn’t help at all! Especially when the ABs score from it. Surely someone should’ve worked that out earlier???

“Still should have won the game”!!! Never in front on the scoreboard, only looked dangerous for the 20 minutes they had the man advantage, the no 10 doing nothing but try to get the ref to card people. Not even close my friend, learn to loose with grace.
I think youre misinterpreting his words intentionally
🤡🤡🤡
Going for the line out instead of kicking the penalties on offer was arrogant and costly
Another six points would have helped!....a bad strategy , and what is worse it had failed against SA.
Could have should have … it was so close but no way Ireland should have won. Bad decisions by Sexton not to take points. Also I don’t get the way the Irish are characterising the ABs tries as soft. The conceding side always feels they could have or should have prevented the scores but they were well worked and the result of great skills by NZ and pressure.
From no1 to no 5 in day, woooh !
They were never the best team in the world in reality. Those rankings are bs😀 You earn the title of best team in the world by winning trophies like the World Cup which Ireland never have.
We have beaten New Zealand and South Africa. The big heavy weights of rugby. We as Irish people are well aware we never won a world cup.
But in fairness we've beaten teams in which rugby is their national sport.
As an Irish person I'm backing France, I really hope they can win the cup. But utmost respect for the all blacks.
@@teresacassidy855but you've never beaten them when it really matters
@@teresacassidy855no excuse NZ have been world champions in sports that wouldn't even make our top 20 sports like softball
@@teresacassidy855 Yes South Africa and New Zealand have lost a few games to Ireland. So what? I bet you’re still drunk on that narrow win you got against the Springboks huh? Truly great teams like NZ & SA do the business when it matters most. Obviously you’re gonna support France since they’re the only Northern hemisphere side with a realistic chance of doing it. But you need to humble yourself. You Irish scumbags bragged about being ranked #1 back in 2019 as well and now you’re surprised to see why people are glad to see you knocked out? Humble yourself. Never ever disrespect the Haka and the South. Oh and btw, Wales were knocked out as well. That’s 2 Southern Hemisphere nations in the semis already👊🏻👊🏻
What are ye smiling at Paulie. We bottled it lad. Again.
Jonny let his own team down .... watch the game again at just about no point did he ever as the flyhalf run onto the ball passing the ball out to the centres at speed ... in stead he was standing dead still and simply pass the ball on like a traffic police officer .... the result of that is that his centres get the ball standing still themselves and by that time the defence in on them and the defence is at speed shutting the Iirish attack down and the result is the ball goes dead behind the game line .... Ireland didnt lose this game Jonny did with a unhealthy helping from Porter .... scrumming at angle etc .... poor performance
AND kicking for the corner when points might have been better ....well 6 would have made a difference...also missed a kickable one ....well, he is 38 after all and a few other Irl guys are getting on.
If ireland at their best havent beaten the AB's at their worst , show a bit of respect next time , ask any Saffa fan they know
? Ireland beat them at their worst last year. This was not the all blacks at their worst
They beat in New Zealand twice last year lol they had beaten 3 of the last 4 times they played going into this game lol
@@garethrichmond4388 Ireland fans and the pundits jeep on harping on about their victory in NZ. That was so long ago, things change.
That’s the only time ireland can beat the ABs, is when ABs play like shit.
@@teatime6414 I mean yeah they changed literally a few hours ago. NZ also to France and got humped by SA in the last games against real competition. The ABS were immense today obviously the did show up when it mattered in a huge way immense respect. Whereas as Ireland did not show up today when it mattered and its not the first time. I'm also not an Ireland supporter btw
I'm also not an Ireland fan .
Why is the lineout a complete mess ?
He has a lot to answer for. Lineout was inconsistent tonight, the same against South Africa. Not good enough when its knockout rugby
100% Has questions to answer.
I see a lot of Irish fans blaming their lineout for the loss...really? As an ABs fan it wasn't the lineouts that cost you guys the game.
The issue with your cut out pass league routes is that you're working one too many players for minimal gain. Don't get me wrong, the benefits can be great and deadly in union but after awhile it becomes very predictable. When you become a single dimension type rugby team you will struggle to close out tight games. You watch the last 30 odd phases in that game, why wouldn't you just keep your forward pack tight and tank forward? That there purely showed what was lacking. If they had reverted back to the basics they would have had it.
Foster talked about that predictability afterwards
Good analysis. The 37 phase move right at the end was a good example of that in which endless Sexton loops got them nowhere.
i wonder ireland has beat nz recently a lot,and maybe they took them for granted
They clearly didn’t
Ireland have beat NZ 3 times ever!!! Ever. 100 years! Stop talking shit. Well done ABs
they only beat NZ in friendlies of no real importance never at a world cup where it really matters
Wish we could beat them when it counts
New Zealand beating Ireland when it really matters. Ireland never beating the All Blacks in the World cup. This so call best Irish team can’t get to the semi’s 😂😂😂😂 i told you Irish Rugby is the joke of Rugby😂😂😂😂😂😂
This guy talking like they were playing Namibia lol.
Hugely disappointing for Ireland, they are a great team, but alas, on the day.
Should have,Could have,Couldn't and Didn't.Wayne needs more money to be able to give out more yellow cards.
I see BOD is sticking the knife into Johnny already.
Irish media and people did get very cocky with people like Kearney and Heaslip planning the open top parade. WC is a different level and the cream rise to the top. Plucky by Ireland but not good enough on biggest stage
yet again the choke occurs
Barnes did his best to try and get Ireland the W
Geez, it was hard work listening to those two, yet weirdly, entertaining
Barnes is a disgrace
That’s what i enjoy Irish Rugby always saying every world cup team will be different turns out to be another exit with out the Semi’s same old story 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You all see Ireland has won nothing yet!
again quarter-final curse hit Ireland again!!!!
No World Cup
Now the greatest team Ireland ever had
could not break quarter-final curse again!!!!
Now can try to reach the next World Cup quarter-final?
Should have? Entitled much. Thought it was their time, thought it would be easy. Abs snatched their cake
I love O Connell but questions need to be asked for the poor line out and poor scrums for that matter.
Hard luck
Go cry in ur Guinness 😂😂😂
lineout, scrum, not taking points....oh Ireland what have you done?
Should’ve and could’ve - really?
Score against NZ: brilliant work, score against IRE: soft score 🧐
Beat Italy "clubbing seals". Beat Scotland "World Beaters".😂
We gave up soft scores… that’s weak.
Irish first 3 points on the restart from a marginal call. Soft.
Bundee dancing through 5 defenders. Soft
Gibson park scoring in Aaron smiths channel after his super soft yellow card.
The ABs won the game on their effort. Give some credit.
Maybe the coaches should be more accountable for keeping a very slow and labored Sexton out there in the last 20. They missed some fresh legs at playmaker and the ABs were smoking the receiver on the pass out the back cause they didn’t care if Jonny took on the line (cause he couldn’t).
He’s now feeling comfort because the quarter finals are the furthest he’s been to as well😂🤣 Ireland can’t win a RWC game outside of the pool stages. Well done All Blacks and well done Argentina👍🏻👍🏻
I think there is a lack of depth for that level ....8 defeats is not an accident ....the six nations will tell us a bit....as for 4 years time ....who knows?
