    Concrete is the second most-used substance on Earth (behind water), and it's responsible for eight percent of the world's carbon footprint. Cement researcher Karen Scrivener shares the research behind a pioneering new kind of cement known as LC3, which could slash carbon emissions from this crucial building material by 40 percent, if adopted at scale.

      I think it has also to do with the place where the clothes are made. If you buy clothes from 10 euros, they are normally not made in good conditions. But if you buy clothes from about 50euros, you can be sure that the working conditions were already a lot better than the conditions with the cheap clothes.

      @Gerald Miller That being true, their not the only ones. As said in the video concreate is used everywhere. Even if China doesn't follow the rest of the world can. This is not a if they don't do it I won't either situation. This is a we have to act situation, so while yes it is cruial that China follows it is even more cruial to just start. Therefore quit saying stuff like China needs to do it as an excuse to not do anything and start motivating where you can.

      We can't entirely eliminate the need to build new buildings or remodel old ones. @@KiKiStarling Do you realise how you guys ended up with a lot of the forests you have in America, especially out West, 150 years ago you have had to plant a great many trees as a building material primarily, so many things were derived from the lumber industry this was very intensive, this is clearly not the case at present, we have forest management but it went entirely the other direction and now we are extra careful with areas that really out to have had a good old control burn. We see forest on fire and have a virtual heart attack, having travelled around Australia a bit I saw plenty of fires the Aborigines did, the old time tested method of managing land, if it is good enough for the Aborigines then it is good enough for you lot over in USofA.
      Again we here in the UK are chopping down virgin forest in the US for our "biomass", we claim it is green the irony, clearly this is not green or sustainable, it would more green to just burn the coal in the coal field that many of our power stations were built right on top of. INSANITY!!!!

      I don't think you got the idea, we aren't trying to get rid of it all, just most of it. The percentage of CO2 in our atmosphere over the years has been increasing dramatically, so we need her rid of most of it so climate change is slowed down.

    • @KingLordLele
      @KingLordLele Před 3 lety

      @@unvaccinatedAndPureBlood i never said to plant more tress, and we need less CO2 in our atmosphere. And how is decaying vegetation the main reason for CO2? i don't think you are aware of how much CO2 we have, plants have more than enough, if they hadn't them why is there still a bunch of CO2? We need to get rid of most of it. But I'm not expecting much knowledge form someone who isn't aware of our world problems

    CO2 levels are not a problem you’re helpful and increasing crop . It is a un related to temperature which seems to be going down anyway.. Please study the sun , it’s cycles of sunspot activityand the upper levels of the atmosphere. Maybe maybe watch balloons in the air a presentation by to Irish climatologist. There’s actually no greenhouse effect . And if there were still two was only 0.04% of greenhouse gas the rest is water. So all of this is rubbish. Maybe the environmentalist crew could worry little bit about all the Hawks and owls that are getting decapitated by useless windmills..

    • @KingLordLele

      CO2 is a part of climate change, and you said crops need CO2? Yes they do but most farmers use fertilizers which throw the CO2 back into the atmosphere. About 100 years ago there was 80-100 percent less CO2 in the atmosphere than there is now, and if that number keeps piling up it won't do any good, the plants don't need so much CO2.
