    I have never seen such clear, concise explanations of doing a repair as this tech gave in his video. Very well done.

    Great video! You guys have everything! Thanks for posting. I learned a lot. I had to laugh when you said this was a relatively easy job then you proceeded to completely take the entire washer apart. You and I have different definitions of relatively easy! 😊

    Common 90 weight gear oil used on standard transmission cars is an acceptable substitute for the gearcase oil. Much cheaper

    Ok so we are replacing the upper seal on the Basket Drive Spin Tube on our Maytag Centennial MVWC6ESWW1 washer. We may need to look again, but when my dad took the upper seal out (the one with the rubber) he said there was not another seal underneath that one. Unless he missed it, did our model not have a second seal?

    • @89Mirageman
      @89Mirageman Před 2 lety +1

      My Roper washer doesn't have that seal either.

  • @sonofnok2153
    @sonofnok2153 Před 3 lety +3

    This is so confusing. So how many seals did you have to put into the tube?

    • @Timetryp
      @Timetryp Před 3 lety +3

      Yea, I lost count of the seals being used. It seems you used old ones to drive in new ones, but the distinction got blurred. How many seals were used in the tube?

  • @dosmastrify
    @dosmastrify Před rokem +1

    10:03 how does this seal prevent water from leaking from the tub? Like it would just prevent water from infiltrating the transmission once it already escaped the tub

    • @fullblastman
      @fullblastman Před 10 měsíci

      It doesn't there's a tub seal for that.

  • @Thatsmessedupman

    what is turbine oil and why is it needed?

  • @rickeykeeton4770
    @rickeykeeton4770 Před 3 lety

    How many seals actually went in the top of the tube? Looked like four.

    • @89Mirageman
      @89Mirageman Před 2 lety +1

      3 I think. 1 356427 and then I believe he stacked 2 new 91939's together and just used the old 91939 as a tool to help install them.

  • @cesarchen538
    @cesarchen538 Před 2 lety

    what is part number of old TOP seal (the one with longer lip)? (above the oil seal WP356427)

  • @fullblastman
    @fullblastman Před 10 měsíci

    So you are actually ordering two seals each of 356427? and two each of 91939? Also there is a seal not mentioned the lower seal for the spline tube which is part number 91938 which I would also replace since I had the whole dang thing apart.

    • @appliancepartspros
      @appliancepartspros  Před 10 měsíci

      It appears that you would only need one of each from what it appears. We try our best to make a video for each part to help give you a general idea on how to replace that particular part. Part number 91938 has its own video for a repair.

      Definitely. Thanks for asking. My model is wtw5100vq2, I have totally confused myself, but I was thinking mine only had 1 shaft seal not two. The part was so corroded, gunked up, and falling apart up that I couldn't tell what was going on. Does my model need two shaft seals or just the one?

    • @appliancepartspros
      @appliancepartspros  Před 6 měsíci

      It appears that your model does have two shaft seals. One is going to be located in the break and drive tube area and the other one is located in the gearcase.

    It doesn't worth the pain to replace those parts, buy their parts, and get involve in so many troubles with those people to change the wrong parts they send you. Better buy a new one. I just bought a new washer for $700, brand new with one year warranty from the store, free shipping and installed. ten years warranty from company: Of course, not the same Brand. I tried to repair this Kenmore 600S and I just spend $240 plus all the pain to replace this and now the part is a wrong one, so tried to figure out HOW MUCH TROUBLE FOR WHAT?

      @@appliancepartspros You only care about order #? is your website, your customer services, the way you guys respond, the stupid form you ask to fill out, etc. I though it will be a good idea to buy there but I'm really disappointed 100%. I just did a mistake. I went to Sears and buy the correct part. keep the money
