- Even if it looks the best ending for the Empire, I personally feel uncertain, because the biggest victim is Gaspar among the 3.
Celene tried to provoke and setup a trap, be able to execute her brother and Brialla forged all documents to keep up brothers fighting. So.... You can only consider it as a best ending, because you get a better loot. But for the inquisition, the best option is Gaspar. You are at war and what is best, than having the empire in your disposal and a hardcore militant emperor as your friend.
That's really one of the worst endings. The only thing that holds this alliance together is the threat poised to the world by the Breach. Once that is over, Orlay will descend into chaos again. It is much better to allow either Celene, or Gaspard to solidify their power by eliminating their opposition.
Its the best ending by the players perspective, less blood, everybody is happy as long as it lasts, not ur fault if they are crows.
@@Plutonas it really isn't a good ending, even for the player. The Empire is only held together by a common enemy, once it is gone they will turn on each other and the civil war will resume, presuming they don't all get killed off in the Game, and if it is a return to the Civil War then the Inquisition has failed one of its primary goals, ending the chaos. Picking a side truly is the best outcome.
Once Corypheus is dealt with, nobody cares about Orlay. This is best ending to unite forces, not to do best for Orlay, cause supporting one of sides will still make some Orlay powers not support Inquisition cause inquisition supported rival thrown taker. Unless you really want to make Superpowerful organization that is going to rule world. Even if you want so, making truce is best to puppet master Orlay later
And this doesn't prove much to the inquisition since you practically blackmail all 3 of them into working together

Never played up to this part but as soon as the vid started i felt as if there was a blade to my neck if I made the wrong move.

I personally prefer making Gaspard Briala’s puppet, even though the epilogue suggests that she isn’t the most subtle about it and even Teagan suspects it in Trespasser. You can also have a hilarious dialogue option with your romantic interest in which you say you wish the duchess didn’t have to die, after you literally left the empress to be assassinated.

LOL eyebrows! It bizarrely looked just like my character, and I didn't realise it shouldn't - then I noticed the huge eyebrows and realised it's your character. I even chose the same throne and white court clothes!
Everytime I've played this mission, it always ends the same. I save Celene and Gaspar is executed. Now I feel awful. I hate this mission.
The DA fandom web guide shows what to do. You just have to collect all the halla statues and use them wisely to unlock the doors you need, but I think it's a choice of getting the locket or the 2 'blackmail' witnesses.
Not the best ending. Killing her means you lose getting her as your court jester.
But yeah, otherwise it is likely your best option. Gaspar is a warmongering noble that wants to 'make Orlais great again' which mean he will absolutely try to retake Ferelden etc. Celine will commit any atrocity, like purging and genocide against the elves, just to keep herself in power. She will pander to any public opinion, no matter how evil. All to attend balls and play the game.
Briala is a wet sop that only cares about elves and Solas is really the one that will decide their fate.
If you're going to kill the Duchess you're better off with "Detain her", which at least gives the boss battle and loot.
Killing her gives you an agent, keeping her alive is not great, it's better for her to be dead and for you to use her skull as a way to intimidate other nobles
10:37 I was concerned what to say at this final part. The choice of rule after the ball, and what to go for, is really more about scoring points for the #DivineElection. I wanted my gf Cassandra to be the next Divine, and obviously save the queen (it's what the mission was for), which needs you to go for the Public Truce ending (+1 for her and -5 for Vivienne) , but that ending Cassandra actually disapproves of (she actually wants the queen killed and Gaspard to rule!), but her approval of my choices is irrelevant because she's already got naked with me LOL.

On my first playthrough I didn’t romance anybody by this point, so I as elf male spoke with Solas at balcony. Felt like some foreveralone nerd party

You already need to have completed the romance before the mission to get to dance, and make sure they're in your party of 3.
Tsk. You don't know how deplorable Gaspard is in the Masked Empire. Then again, so is Celene.

you have to get all the clues for all of them, be able to accuse them all equally and have the option to get them under ur control. There are several guides for it if you search on google.

I'm so confused it's not working for me I got the necklace, my court approval is 100, and I got all the proof against Celene, Briala and Gaspard, so what do I do let Celene and Briala know I found the locket or don't tell them?
As soon as you find the locket speak to Celene and Briala and mention the locket. Later on, mention how Briala helped you uncover evidence against Gaspard. Then after you turn all the evidence against him, ask for reward for Briala. Do that, and Briala and Celene will be reunited :)
