There is a sign on the wall at the shop I work at that most people don't really understand: A proper apology has three parts "I'm sorry for what I did, I acknowledge what I did was wrong, what can I do to make this right?"
On a different note- one of my favorite authors Jim Butcher has a passage in his Dresden files series where the main character is conversing with a demon and comments on anger being constructive, when mocked for it he points out that anger is a tool that you can use or be used by. Constructive anger is passion- it's what drives people and cultures to change themselves and the world around them. It's how one man can drive a people to fight for the right to be treated as equal to everyone else, and what allows the oppressed to rise up and tear down corrupt governments.
