your arts evaluation is pretty on point, just a few things -
shutdown inflicts sleep always, if it's used against a mechon, it'll remove all their buffs and debuffs. to be honest its conditional ability is kinda garbage, since you're most likely going to be removing your own debuffs. but as an art it's not terrible, the sleep is actually pretty decent and the damage isn't _that_ bad, but i'd rather have her other red arts instead.
double blade doesn't have great base damage, but like riki's sneaky, it'll do triple damage instead of back slash's double, so if you have another tank in the party to draw aggro it can actually be a pretty decent art.
healing energy in general just isn't a great art. if i want regen, i'm usually gonna go with lock on for the extra crit rate for crit drain.
the only issue with speed shift is its absurdly long cooldown, so you might want to use chain attacks to refresh its duration every once in a while. otherwise, you're gonna have almost a minute of downtime with no aura at all unless you invest another slot into lock on or guard shift.
power drain is a good art, but unfortunately not amazing against superbosses since most of them are pretty much just immune to strength down.
zero gravity also has another thing - it charges up her talent gauge by 25%
one more issue with final cross other than the ones you mentioned is that since it's an ether attack and fiora doesn't have any star links, she can't link enlightenment from melia and get the buff to ether hit rate. that means against any significantly higher leveled enemies like superbosses, final cross has a good chance to be resisted if the enemy isn't toppled, and if its last hit is resisted, then it won't topple. that said, it's still a great art, so i'd recommend keeping it on.
if you stack shoulder to shoulder and friendship heals on your entire party it'll heal you for 45% of your max hp after every chain attack. if you have a recovery up, it'll heal you for 66.7%. these slots are somewhat contested by some other good skills so you might just have like 35 or 40 instead, but it's still insanely good, especially later on when you can consistently get chain attacks every several seconds or so.
fiora's talent arts are pretty interesting with how they ramp up per "level". for sword drones specifically, level 1 basically hits the enemy for an auto attack's worth of damage 10 times. level 2 will up each hit to 1.25x an auto attack, and level x, or sedna drones, will up it to 1.5x an autoattack for each hit. this is somewhat similar to cannon drones actually, which will do 10 auto attacks' worth of damage at level 1 in one big blast, and 15 auto attacks' worth of damage at level 2 (no other talent art has level x). on paper, this means cannon drones 1 will do the same as sword drones 1 and cannon drones 2 will do the same as sword drones x, but keep in mind that you most likely are going to have physical boosts rather than ether through stuff like slit edge, worldly slash, and peerless, which will make sword drones do significantly more. plus, 9 more hits means 9 more chances to crit. all in all it's up to you to choose if you want about 2.5 auto attacks' worth of damage per talent art or one more armor gem.
conviction blades technically have the highest minimum attack out of any of fiora's weapons, but as far as max attack goes it's outclassed by both dystopia and war blades. if you want a little more consistency in damage at the cost of about 100 minimum attack, you might want to go with that - but like enel said, since the damage range glitch isn't a thing anymore, dystopia is quite a good weapon now.
some gem setups other than max damage -
hp steal, weapon power, recovery up. 75% to heal yourself for 200 hp for each attack, and since fiora does that a lot quickly, it adds up very fast. stack on top of chain heal and crit drain/combo for maximum self regen.
talent boost, double attack, haste, back attack plus/topple up/attack plus. she'll get her talent art much quicker and you can spam the living hell out of it.
and some others, but feel free to experiment and try stuff out for yourself. fiora as a character is probably the second most versatile character in the game under riki, and she can do a bunch of things depending on what you throw on her.

A suggestion if it wasn't already going to be in the guide - I'd like to see a breakdown of what each type of drone "does" and it's pros and cons. Everyone says Sword Drones are best, and you explain why a bit in the post above, but I'd like to understand the others and if they have any use just...like...to know? Like if one is good for area damage instead of DPS? Etc.

@@Armagon1000 they're equipped with 100% unbeatable, so it's pretty much literally impossible to lose the fights that they appear in respectively. if someone uses them outside battles then they probably hacked them in

she doesn't have access to star-shaped skill link slots because every skill that allows you to equip another kind of armor are that shape, and they didn't want you to be able to use light, medium, or heavy armor on her. Although this might have actually been an afterthought because honestly she would be so much better with access to even just the skills you mentioned, let alone the skills that give you more double attack rate, stat increases, etc.

why not just have a single video for every character that is limited to a specific selection of battles (so Mumhkar, Dickson and Alvis (I think that's all of them... oh and possibly Monado weilding Dunban))
I wonder if they'll ever update Definitive Edition to let you keep those characters as full party members in New Game+ (like they did with Xenoblade 2's villains being kept as blades) I'd certainly be happy if we got some DLC stuff (either more characters or some more extra stories along the same lines as the Future Connected story. (even just letting you use Kino and Nene in the base game's New Game+ (as long as you finish Future Connected first) would be nice (I know that they borrow a lot of their arts from Sharla and Reyn but just being able to have a triple nopon party would be amazing)))

Dated reddit jokes aside, this advice isn't really needed. Because the game hammers it into your head to turn casual mode on every time you die more than once in a short time frame. Thus why returning players should turn off the on screen notifications if that kind of thing annoys you (and it certainly does for me)

When I got to that battle in DE I made sure I got a chain attack off. Was disappointed by his lack of fun arts but I was still satisfied that I got to control another character 😂

For those wondering, probably the biggest reason that Fiora doesn't get any star affinity links is due to the fact that "Can equip medium/heavy armor" skills are in fact star-shaped skills, and they probably wanted to make sure that she would never be able to use non-mechon armor
could just made them pentagon since most of those skills aren't that great lol

I think the reason Fiora has no star-shaped skill links is to prevent her from being able to link the medium and heavy armour skills. Since she's supposed to only be able to equip the Mechon type armour.
That kinda dump reason honestly, there is a better way to do this without removing all of her star slots.
Shutdown actually puts any enemy to sleep presuming it isn't immune, but removes buffs and debuffs if used on a Mechon. So I would actually argue it's better used on enemies that *aren't* Mechon so you don't remove all your debuffs.

I almost got murdered by a pretty bad spike against a Mechon because I didn't realize Shutdown scrubs debuffs as well. Took off my Purge and everyone nearly died

A note about Shutdown: It has absurdly high knockback. If you're near a cliff, like everywhere in Mechonis Field, the first dungeon you use her in, it is VERY useful for skipping fights or quickly grinding if you're under leveled, since sparta kicking enemies off a cliff is still killing them as far as the game is concerned. Just hope you didn't want the loot.

Fiora is my favorite! Final Cross is a great move when I want to Topple enemies with some solid damage. I'm still learning the more advanced lessons about the optimal ways to arrange my party and their Arts, so this is great.

This is the fifth character guide I've watched and it just now clicked for me that ALL of the characters skill trees give that character the skill benefits and not just the one that you currently have highlighted!? (except the thing that says prioritizing this tree improves x thing)

The auto-attack strats with Fiora are so fun, my favourite set up on the game. Also it’s funny how small the health and damage numbers are compared to later games
I know right? The only game where auto-attacks are actually useful and aggro isn't dictated by just pure damage.
A really good gem to use on fiora is electric plus. This effects zero gravity, mag storm, final cross, cannon drones, and gun drones. I personally love using this gem on her.

Superb! This is actually my preferred setup from 9 years ago. This setup is the most fun to me. Except that I invert the last two party members.
I was playing Seven exactly like that with nearly the same weapon, Talent arts, Arts and skill trees.
It was so much fun already back in the day, the problem is that we could not lower the levels back in the day, so it wasn't really fun anymore as I was obliterating everything.
I was using the weakest party possible and still could beat the most powerful monsters.
Now with the Expert mode, it is really amazing.
This is exactly the content I desire. Funny how much damage she can do early game.

Fiora/Seven actually have 4 talent arts. It all depends on the footgear she has.

Shield drones is good if you like her to be a defensive character especially with dangerous talent arts. I haven’t used it much.

Not sure if anyone covered regarding the art Shutdown but it does inflict sleep on an enemy regardless whether they’re a mechon type or not. The added benefit of hitting a mechon is that it also removes the target’s buffs. Regardless I find it useful in situations if you’re getting mobbed by one too many powerful monsters.
Speed V Goggles are also great, since they come with Aggro Down VI (another gem that is normally weapon exclusive). Going full lightspeed blender on an enemy's ankles is going to generate a *lot* of aggro, and while Fiora is far from the most fragile character in the game, she's not exactly a tank either, so anything that reduces the aggro she is drawing is going to help (on this build, at least).

So I think that something is bugged with Fiora's lines. I remember when I used her, she said "the electromagnetic tempest will swallow you" when I used Screw Edge... I feel like that was mistimed.

Shulk will occasionally say "you may be right, Riki" in incorrect scenarios when Riki is in the party

I wonder if this was patched, because I'm replaying it this year and I hadn't heard that at all. However when I played DE the first time I definitely also heard this.

8:07 I think the reason Fiora doesn’t have any Star-shaped skill links is because armor proficiency is on Star-shaped skills. Presumably they wanted to lock Fiora out of being able to use other types of armor, since her unique cyborg armor is pretty important to her whole deal.

I think the reason to why she can't use star symbol skill links is because all the armor weight type skills are those shape which would allow seven to equip regular armor
I've always thought the reason Fiora doesn't get any star-shaped skill link slots is because the skills that let you equip medium and heavy armor are star-shaped, so rather than programming in special exceptions to prevent her from equipping normal armor the devs just prevented her from using skill links to get the required skills for medium and heavy armors. Of course her inability to equip light armor despite the fact that light armor isn't governed by a skill shows that they did put in special exceptions for her, so idk.

I’ve been running Seven with Melia and Riki cause she fixes the party gauge problem. Another is swapping Riki for Dunban and having basically two high damage dodge tanks maintain agro for you. Obviously a team that makes use of the 5th skill tree is better and maybe when I’m over playing as Melia I’ll be able to make use of that, but right now I’m fine being non-optimal.

Fiora + Speed Shift and Lora + Auto-Attack Cancel look at each other. They shake hands. They are similar.
There is exactly one situation I can think of for running Mag Storm and it's with Demon Slayer Dunban and even then that strategy doesn't work for very long because you only get Demon Slayer around Late Agniritha so not a whole lot of time to mess with that strategy
The reason why star shaped skills aren’t available to her is because they include “Can equip medium armor” and “Can equip heavy armor” which doesn’t make sense since she can only equip her own special mechon armor

haha it hasn't gone up too much cause i've been lazy
One thing to note, fiora can be ether too, all her ether skills are "electric", cannon drone II, final cross, mag storm all are "electric", that means is a pretty powerful attack with one electric plus gem. I use Max attack plus, electric plus, and lighting gem that adds 250 electric damage to each hit, and that doubles up to 500 dmg. Nice build.
Another thing to note, sword drones II with an strengt gem is Just as powerful as no gem sword drones X, and strengt buffs all your other skils.
I haven't started kitting myself for superbosses and such, so I don't know how well this'll hold up for more difficult fights, but I tried putting Talent Boost V on Fiora and been getting good results with her. Sure her Auto-attack damage is cut in half, but she can still get the same benefits from frequent criticals, and now her Talent Art fills up in like, 3-4 hits, meaning more Sword Drones all around.
I like having her as an agility tank with her regen and just constant attacking
I’m glad I’m not the only one who often misses the first button prompt in the chain attack because it’s too slow...
I think she doesn't have access to star skill trees because if she did she would be able to use Medium and Heavy armor, which also explains why other characters can't link her diamond skills, because of Innocence skill branch and the Mechonis Armor skill.

The fact that you made a Fiora guide and not a nr.7 guide totally spoiled that for me. I had watched a few guides, while actually managing not to get spoiled, but then the rest of your guides popped into my reccommended, and there was no Nr.7 guide, only a fiora guide.
At the time I noticed this I was at a point in the story after Zanza was freed, so I kinda figured we'd get her back anyway.
I don't really blame you for the spoiler, as you tried to keep mostly spoiler free, and warned against spoilers, and I watched your guides anyway. However just the fact that you don't have a "nr.7 guide" spoils the twist for anyone else who happens to find your guides, even if they don't watch them.

I think Fiora doesn’t have any star skill links because the devs wanted to avoid players trying to link medium/heavy armor equip skills to her, so they just made that impossible. It makes sense but still disappointing.
