- Hello everyone,
I bought a 20 years old vintage Ball-Jointed Doll from the Korean second-hand market and refurbished it.
This doll is from an old Korean company called Dolkot which stopped producing dolls in 2009. It is really difficult to find any information about this company - let alone photos. So I dug deep in the internet and could find some information and pictures on Chinese and Korean websites. In this video you will find informations most English speaking websites or blogs don't have about this company and their dolls.

He is my favourite doll of my collection now and to be honest, I would like to get another very old doll. It’s so much fun to give them a new appearance and new life 😍❤️

he's so handsome! half of my dolls are also old 2nd hand dolls but with some care and new faceup they end up looking pretty new again

also the bandaid you put on his face is washi tape, right? ive always wanted to add that but too afraid i could damage the faceup (newbie here!)

I used real band-aid (you can find a tutorial on my Instagram account @ dolltrovert)
Yes, stickers, band-aids, tapes etc can damage a face up but it never has happened to me in the past 11 years since I started doing face ups. I seal my heads minimum 3 times after I have finished a face up. Sometimes there is residue of the adhesive from a tape, sticker or band-aid which I was always able to remove gently with wet magic sponge. ☺️ I hope this helps. 🫶

Thank you so much for watching my video and for leaving a comment. You are absolutely right, it wasn’t visible or clear at all (working on a doll head, staying in frame and not always having my hand right in front of my camera lens is really difficult 🥴).
BUT (thanks to your comment) I got the idea to make an eyelash tutorial. I will show both methods which I use to glue eyelashes on dolls. ☺️🫶 Please stay tuned! This tutorial is on my to-do-list now ❤️

sorry for never responding. Sometimes CZcams won’t give me notifications about new comments 🥲 I got him from the Korean secondhand market. Unfortunately you can only buy from there if you life in Korea, have a Korean phone number and know the Korean language very well. 🥺
no offense to her but ball jointed dolls are not meant to be thrown away their collectors and made more for people that like to custom dolls or collect them 0:35
Edit: Sorry, I think you meant the daughter? Well here in Korea dolls are sold extremely cheap on the second-hand market because there are just so many dolls for sale. I guess the daughter thought nobody wants this doll because it is so old. Can’t blame her. I see many older dolls on the second-hand market for a super cheap price but nobody buys them 🤷🏻♀️

Ohhh I got a dolkot kiss too!! Don't you fret he's quite beautiful actually! I got mine third hand and the poor guy had the plainest faceup and a grumpy face, now he looks much cuter IMO. The downturned lips are a little hard to work around if you want a smile instead, but it is not impossible
