Rookie incentive round is for teams that win ROY - that's why it was O's (Gunnar) and DBacks (Corbin Caroll). Y'all could nail that award and the free pick in 2025 with Colson or another guy who's still in the minors.
I don't know how it's programmed in The Show for MVP & Cy Young, but teams can also get a free pick from one of their developed guys winning one of those awards. Meant to stop service time manipulation (not calling guys up for a month or so to make sure you get another year of team control). Kinda cool imo and an incentive for teams to actually call up good players. Still didn't stop the O's with Holliday (allegedly, of course)

I enjoy the player lock aspect, gives it a Road to the Show vibe but it’s not just some random AAA guy, it’s our man Joseph Ortiz.
players with low OVR but high potential can still make an impact. They just need time in the minors to hone their game. They will be something, it will take about 4-5 years until they make the show. Happens all the time.

One person I recommend that Kenny should go get is Nolan Gorman. He is a sim god, and develops very nicely into a great player
Kenny, when evaluating hitters, On Base Percentage is the most important stat. Therefore, discipline is the most important attribute to look at because it doesn’t matter whether a hitter gets a hit or walks, they are still getting on base.

You can change the settings for player lock so you don’t have to do the base running or the fielding
Biggest thing to learn about drafting in MLB The Show is to draft high potential. But you can't draft guys who aren't good enough in the now to play in your farm system. So you shoot for a minimum starting overall of 60+ so you can put them in Double A or Triple A. Cause if they don't play they aren't gonna reach that big potential they have. As far as I'd draft, Props to Kenny following that exact ideal and pointing out in the later rounds that taking the lower overalls is a risk, But there's no way to play someone in their 50's in overall. Let alone a 49 overall guy. So in all honesty his last 2 picks weren't great but there wasn't anyone else scouted, So it makes sense.

Hey Kenny, if you turn on Manual for roster management and at least the MLB Only option if not Manual for injury management, It still allows you to let CPU auto fix it for you, but it gives you the pop up when it happens. For example, Edgar Quero is going to be out 1-2 months: Auto, 15-IL, 60-IL. From there you can hit auto and then go move someone up that you deem best for the experience for you!

PPI picks are essentially compensation picks a team can get for how fast top prospects make the majors and how well they perform… winning awards. There’s a menu selection “PPI list” that shows which prospects qualify. Definitely pay attention to that

I wouldn’t call up Navarro for at least one season even though he’ll be a higher overall. Let him develop thru AA and AAA. Also for future reference, you should turn on contracts and negotiate them for draft picks on your own, it’s not difficult and you can turn it off once you finish.
Side Note: Day 3 of asking for Tim Hill to make the major league bullpen (sidearm lefty specialist)
Also, they’re gonna keep calling people up for you so you should probably just turn off automatic roster moves

I would suggest setting everything to manual, the ai keeps bringing guys up to the mlb. You can only send down to AAA and bring back up 3 times!! After that if you try to send someone down again they are placed on waivers and other teams can claim them. Another thing is you will get to fully control your lineups without the ai changing them game to game, this is especially useful for your prospects in the minors, you want them to get as many AB’s as possible!!
