Thanks again! Also , the editing was clean. Keep grinding momma❤ . Lots of love ❤️
Thank YOU Erinna... appreciate you coming through to watch the video.
I agree, so clean! Great editing, Momma. 🔥🔥🔥
When Paz pulls her hair back, to rip it after the break, is one of the hottest moments in a music video ever.
Yes, adolescent me fely a certain way about it back in the day.
The feminine and male energy and intertwined messages are absolutely powerful and the audacity to question this unseen power that may control things is brilliant because of our freee will to do exactly that!!! Genius
3:45 I never noticed Paz putting her hair up before.
It's like when you turn your ballcap backwards. Like, "Time to get serious."
Omg. You are totally showing your age XD
I saw A Perfect Circle in Minneapolis years and years ago and Paz took off her bass and stood by the drums, then she ran and jumped into the crowd and crowd surfed a little bit and then got back on stage and Maynard helped her put her bass back on and continued to jam
Holding TOOL and A Perfect Circle above one another isn't necessary. Love both.
"would you choose your heart or your brain?" You don't. You need both
I was in the same exact situation with my Mother, which makes this song so much more powerful and personal for me. The true test of great music is its ability to cross generations.
This is one of my favorite A Perfect Circle songs. Every member of the band brings something to the table.
Thanks for featuring us in your compilation. Much respect my friend!!!
Likewise guys. I love your channel and use you guys in a lot of my videos. 😅I truly hope you don't mind as you guys have a lot of amazing content to work with ! Thank you for stopping by to comment!
Trash Talkers Tribe !Best guys ever ❤️

“ I'm so jealous at the people who are hearing this for the first time “ a fan comment from the official Judith video 🤘🏽. Great compilation 🙌
Ha, Paz Lenchantin was teenage me's obsession when this song first came out
Maynard is a musical genius! This song was about him asking why his mother who was a devout Christian and had a stroke. He was asking her why she follows a God who would let her be sick.
Lucifer is the ruler of this world, even Jesus acknowledges that. We need to escape with our souls to be with God. Most don’t understand this
@@ElPato7272 Facts! God gave Lucifer dominion over the earth. He’s able to manipulate those who would be and believe me there are a lot of folks who are being run like marionettes. My old man is a Baptist minister this type thing was ingrained into my head from birth.
I'm a life long Christian, and this song has always caused such mixed emotions in me. The lyrics always make me recoil a bit, but the energy and passion and pain in the performance, especially that last refrain consistently brings tears to my eyes. I've heard this song probably hundreds of times in my life. I love tool and APC, and it never ceases to get a massive emotional response from me.
I never took this song to be completely anti-Christian, and Maynard in his comments over the years doesn’t seem to be explicitly anti-Christian either. Maynard’s dispute seems to be with a kind of faith that lacks questioning, or that does not recognize its own shortcomings. There are real questions for the faithful about why a loving God allows so much unending suffering. Faith cannot be a matter of blind acceptance if it is to make any sense. In the face of so much evidence against a loving God, it should be a constant struggle to reaffirm your faith, and to continue believing. To be truly faithful, you must acknowledge how damn difficult it is to keep that faith. And to blindly accept is to lose that fight. That’s what I understand as Maynard’s message in this song when taken with the fuller context of his comments over time.
Same here
The song isn't exactly about Maynard's opinion on religion, per se... It's about his mother and her unwavering devotion to God. His mother's name was _Judith._ His mother was always a devout Christian, and one day she got sick, which caused her to have a stroke and left her paralyzed. In spite of this, her faith never wavered. The song is Maynard's anger and frustration with her for being so devoted to "something" that crippled her despite her devotion. She passed away a few years ago, and one of Tool's albums (Maynard is also the lead singer for Tool, incase anyone didn't already know this), "10,000 Days", is titled after the approximate amount of time she spent in a wheelchair and in constant pain. The song "10,000 Days (Wings for Mary; part 1 and 2)" has to do with her devotion, death, and his grief. It's kind of brutal listening to this song, and then listening to "Wings for Mary part 2", because the songs are on completely different sides of the "spectrum", so to speak.
I get that. 💯 I'm a MASSIVELY lapsed Catholic, but it still feels a bit like blasphemy to rock out to this song. 🤣💯
I still do though... because I realize that its all a reboot of a story from Babylon, honestly (same origin stories... look it up 💯)
But that "Catholic Guilt" loves to show up when I'm jamming to a song. 😂😂😂
judith is an incredibly emotional song about maynards anger towards the church after his mother's congregation turned her away when she became paralyzed, telling her that what happened to her was probably her fault. she was in pain and suffering for 27 years. when she died, maynard wrote wings for marie and 10,000 days (a rough estimate of how many days there are in 27 years), two parts of one song about grieving her, accepting her death, and the pain of moving on. listening to judith and then both parts of wings for marie is truly incredible and moving.
💬Girl power! On the bass guitar in this song is Paz Lenchantin (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paz_Lenchantin), current member of the band, Pixies. She’s had a 24 year career in the music business and has a lot to show for it.
To be honest… she had me the moment the camera focused on her shoes the first time. 🤷🏻♀😅 I hope you all enjoy this one and onto the next! ~insert Dr. Evil pinky finger to lips meme here~ I have been waiting almost since the beginning of this journey to do this next one! 🤫
another killer female bassist is/was Sean Yseult of White Zombie fame
Nadya Rose former bassist of Coal Chamber.
If I remember correctly but I could be wrong, Darcy Wretzky was the bassist for Smashing Pumpkins back in the 1990s and early 2000s.
And the person she replaced was a woman in the pixies. I thought having a girl bassist was so popular it almost was a cliche.
She had me the moment she put her hair up and then kept rocking mid song. Beast! Great video!
"That was a cold-blooded song. I like it even more now!" 😂
Paz is so amazing. Glad she gets the props she deserves.
Yes!! Thanks Mommas for a bad ass reaction! I love Perfect Circle excellent! Maynard vocals are just so gorgeous to me!! 🤘♥️🖤
Wonderful job on the video Momma. One of the most beautiful and powerful songs ever, Maynard's voice is mesmerizing and soulful. 🤘🥰
YAAASSS!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘
Such a gripping, powerful, emotional song.
Kudos, Momma!!! ❤❤❤
Man... that opening riff is something special 👌
The musicianship alone in this is phenomenal then add the intense lyrics and you’ve got absolute dynamite. Each and every one of these musicians are masters of their craft and Maynard’s absolute genius yet again in creating an amazing song is mind blowing. As the trash talkers said “everything Maynard touches turns to gold”. Never truer words spoken.
Ladies on bass in music is rare but there are a few bands now and then that do have one. Two bands that come to mind. White Zombie and Smashing Pumpkins. Both of the women that played bass in those bands are awesome. Also there's a young band out there that comes from Mexico that's an all sisters band. And the youngest one is the bassist and she's absolutely amazing.
yes, Sean Yseult of White Zombie is/was pretty damn good.
Don’t forget Pixies ✌️
Two more! Andrea Goldsworthy has played bass for Paloma Faith for 10+ years, and there's Grog (Georgina Lisee) who has been the bassist with Die So Fluid since the early 2000s 😊 (edited to add, Band-Maid!)
Toadies
The Breeders
Coal Chamber
B52s for a time
And dare we forget all-girl groups like The Go-Go's, The Bangles, The Donnas, Kittie
It's not as uncommon as some seem to think it is
Rayna Foss from Coal Chamber
Well putt together.... I can't imagine the time it took you to edit all these videos but well done!!! great video!!
Just watched it again and again. Thanks. 🇨🇦
This song always makes me cry 😢
Great work as usual WMOG!
This song is about his mom Judith, she was a devoted Christian, and she ended up being paralyzed for 27 years. A lot of people so-called Christians question her, why God did that to her if she never did anything wrong to him. She used to say, "Your God is not my God. Your Christ is not my Christ." He knows the reasons why, and I'm gonna stay devoted to Him. Maynard said it in an insulting way to the people who questioned his mom. Fuck your God, your Christ. My mom is a true Christian. Because she never questioned why. Listen to Wings for Mary Part 2. When Judith dies and goes to heaven. Is the continuation of this song in the Tool album 10,000 days. The 27 years Judith was paralyzed.
what timing, it’s friday and I just got out of work early to see this notification.
great song choice and stellar edit as usual.
Thank you, Shot. Happy Friday! Loved your GNR video too.
@@WonderMommaOG 🤘🏻😋 much appreciated
Such a badass song with deep and interesting lyrics! I just saw Tool in Denver earlier this week and Maynard is the man!!
I love that you added how you made this video! That's so cool.
i was waiting for this one, first time i heard it i was blown away
It was extremely cold and they played the new album but then....james simply said its cold as hell...immediately then played judith and the place warmed up. Affer Judith, all he said was a good thing...well that certainly warmed the place up....thank you
What a fantastic choice WonderMomma, way to take a chance.
How did I miss this?!? I love this song! Deep.❤❤ Nice job as always!
Just go to a "concert" no words can express the energy and inquiries that will be remedied during this experience.
Yes Mamma!!!!!!!
This was an excellent choice of course.
truely artful editing, thanks for this!!!!
Excellent job as always…thanks!
Wondermomma 💜💜 espectacular video thank you .😎
Thank you so much for this one🤘🤘
Again, you have added a full cover at the end over your editing process, making me hang around much longer than I intended 😂 👏 👏 Love seeing you working at your art.
Thank you for hanging around to watch that part! 💜
Another one you could do it POD “ Youth of the Nation”. Great song and message.
I love that song... I will add it to my list! Thanks Dolfan
That is a great song
The coolest fact that most of these reactors missed out on was, this is the only "cuss-filled" lyric in the album. You can tell this was personal for Maynard, that truly was RAGE in its most "melodic" and beautiful form of his voice.
Fun fact : David Fincher ( Seven ) directed this video. Paz could not put her hair up fast enough, so Fincher just sped up the sequence
Lotta people don't know, but this was the first music video where Maynard did a 'face reveal' in fact, if I remember correctly, this was the first time his face was in media overall.
It was? I could swear it happened before and that Maynard made the decision to “unreveal his face” at least when it came to Tool’s music videos. A Perfect Circle on the other hand featured many face reveals.
Paz!!! Putting the hair up... and kicking the shit out of that bass! In heels no less! Love this song! And Maynard named a wine after his mom, Judith! A cab sav Nagual del Judith...great choice Wondermomma! Once again you hit it just right! I think a lot of us have felt at some point in our lives spiritual frustrations!
It's been a few years since I've heard this and I'm still amazed at the tone a highly talented guitar tech in Billy Howerdel got out of a relatively early digital multi-effects/modeler
I love many songs from Tool, A Perfect Circle, and one song from Puscifer. But there are so few songs (mind you I said I loved many) that truly spoke to me and “Judith” did just that.
Wow! TY MOMMA! you are so amazing 👏
God I loveTHisl. SO damn good. Great choice Momma
I never really knew what this song was about. 💔
I wish more of these people would read the lyrics and talk about what a song is saying. Jamel @ 10:45 talking about one of the things in life that make me an atheist.
Sonically one of the best albums I’ve ever heard.
Thank you again. Never disappointed
Paz. Paz Lechantin. Argentinian virtuoso bass player. And with the first strike, #Momma hit a geyser. We fans have certain things we like about our fave videos, and for me, it was Paz tying up that hair in the break. (I have long hair. When I do it, it looks like hand to hand combat.) And before a note is played, I get to see a dozen young men notice Paz tying up her hair. Out. Standing. To say I've been drooling for this one for a while is an understatement. Any APC, Tool, Puscifer gets an automatic stop from most of us, I think. I've seen a great many of these reactions, but of course, there are new ones. And higher I climb up the Reaction Tree. All you content creators, pay heed. This is how it's done. To quote the imminently quotable @AlexHafner, "It's talent, it's abstract, it's different." It's also necessary. Thanks, #Momma!
Whoever did the cover at the end of this vid is freakin fantastic. I made an audio file copy of just the cover part and playlisted it. It's that good.
The link is in the description if you want to watch the video. It’s as good as the song.
Goodun! Strike Lightnin'!
This band is legendary! Absolutely supergroup. Maynard, Paz, Troy!
saw them in a small club in Tucson AZ on their warm up before release
I’m 69 years old and I’ve always known who Paz is. Judith is on my playlist.
Electric Wizard (y’all should check em out!) has a female bass player, as well! White Zombie, Smashing Pumpkins, The Bangles, The Go-Gos and several other bands have/had females on bass.
❤
Paz the bass player went on to play with the Pixies for several years, they were crazy to let her go recently.
Everyone talking about Paz! Rightly so~
Great video. I'd LOVE to see a reaction video to SKYND. "Jim Jones", or "Richard Ramirez" would be awesome.
Paz Linchantin is a Badass, a true Legend! Everyone should go and check out Tal Wilkenfeld as well, Shes another Legendary Female Bassist...and she was in Jeff Becks Band, what does that tell you about her Skill Set???
Paz is a legend, Pixies, A Perfect Circle, Zwan, all iconic bands she played on
Any band with Maynard pouring his heart and soul out ~ is "as good as Tool" 🤘🤯🤘
If you want to have your mind blown go watch A Perfect Circle - Stone and Echo live from Red Rocks. I guarantee you will absolutely love it
this whole album is perfect to me
Nice Momma!
It's not that 'rare'. White Zombie had a female bassist. Sean Yseult. She was awesome. There was also the female band, Kitty.
Exactly! Girlschool, Rock Goddess are just two more who spring to mind. These people have led a sheltered life 😂
The runaways, the go gos and the bangles. The bangles bassist really showed her chops in hazy shade of winter
Saw them open for NIN, it was fanfuckintastic
checkin in...
Wanna be even more surprised ? David Fincher actually directed this FYI! 😉
TOOL also has the best of the best sound engineers.you can hear vocals and instruments equally clear.
It's still one of my favorite songs to play drums to. As always, wonderful job, WonderMomma.
Any hints on whats next?
Hi Tom... Yes! Check the community tab. 👀
Perfect circle is a super group whose members include former artists from the Pixies, Nine Inch Nails, Eagles of Death Metal, Primus and Smashing Pumpkins among others.
I almost forgot Queens of the Stone Age.
Not “former” from Pixies…”currently” from Pixies.
@@yogijager you are correct. Please disregard my use of the word.
Drummer from the Vandals 😊
I love this song so much. You can feel the frustration, confusion and hatred. It's visceral. Also - why are so many of the people in the intro loosing it over seeing a woman playing bass? They really need to get out more.
I saw APC on their very 1st tour of the states at a venue called Bender Arena on the campus of GWU in DC (1 of Nirvanas 2 or 3 shows they ever did in this area was there,on the In Utero tour) there weren’t even seats there was bleachers 🤨awesome show
The tragedy about this song is that MJ couldn't understand why his mother was still a devoted christian.even after her congregation blamed her for sickness.saying was her fault for not being a good enough Christian.😢
love me some Paz
i dont know this band but if you played it for me i would say its Tool (sort of)
Paz!
Paz Lenchantin in the bass. From Argentina. 💙🤍💙
Viva la Argentina! I wish to visit there one day... looks like a beautiful place to be.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I've been a HUGE Tool fan since Aenima. I despised A Perfect Circle. It was too... I dunno, not Tool? lol Ordinary, I guess. Even this song made me think, "Maynard, this is so far beneath you!" As I aged, I came back to A Perfect Circle with a different understanding of them. I adore them. Now, do I hold ANY of their albums as high as ANY Tool album? F no. Not even close. This song, though... I am a religious person, and I understand this song on so many levels. It's a masterpiece.
Just a background for the lyrics:
Maynard James Keenan, the singer's mother had an anuerysm when he was 11 that paralyzed her. Her name was Judith. She was devoutly religious. That's why the lyrics come off so anti-religious. This is an expression of Maynard's anger at "God", who struck down one of his followers and paralyzed his mother.
I figured it out mama...much love radar love go long as you can you edit like Edward scissorhands. Pain and talent....
Radar Love is on my list! I like the Edward Scissorhands reference...lol that's very cool.
Aw shucks
🙂
So many people don't know Paz.. makes me sad man. Also 0:51 no it is not rare to see a female bass player that's what women mostly play in rock bands is bass.
Fun fact. "Fuck your god". is the only time he uses a swear word on the entire album. This was done intentionally.
Now go listen to wings for marie 1 and 2. Yes 2 seperate tool songs.
Alice in chains please
Paz is so damn hot.
Should check out kittie if yall wanna see some women jammin out
Dude, I love Kittie
25 years ago and y’all just reacting? Hey did y’all ever hear of this band called the Beatles or Led Zeppelin?
It's rare to see a female base player?
That's nonsense, what about softball....
Why do so many like this average ass boring song?
Oh wait I can answer this
Maynard.
Love Tool but I wonder if all the actual Tool worshipping groupies realize that the band is actually named after them
Great song, but you have lackluster effort in your attempt. Stealing all these reactions 😢
Lackluster effort. lol OK. Watch the making of portion at the end of the video before you describe my efforts as lackluster, please. I spend 40-60 hours on every single video and sometimes doing it over a 3-5 day period of time.
Stealing? It's fair use. Are they not public videos? Are they not using someone else's material and incorporating it into their video? It's kind of the name of the game in the reaction niche here on CZcams. I love every song I make videos for and have loved them for decades/years. I can't ever hear any of them for the first time again... but watching other people do it is the next best thing. And inspirational, hence why I make them.
Its funny and sad how people who believe in fairytale books still suffer just like us who live in reality..... We are never mad at your god because your god doesn't do the real. We mad at you for thinking you are better then us because your fake god says so.
