  • Finally, and 3 months late!, we show you our experience camping in the Siete Tazas National Park, in the Maule region, Chile. Camping here really is an experience that we recommend to everyone, and the park is also beautiful, with waterfalls and pools that, in addition to being beautiful, are ideal for weathering the heat (although the water is )
Here are the data that we consider important:
    1. The entrance to the park is located 266 kilometers from Santiago (about 3 and a half hours) and 377 kilometers from Viña del Mar (4 hours and 45 minutes)
    2. The road is in very good condition but the last 11 kilometers are disastrous (please Mr. State, worry about the maintenance of our national parks!)... although any vehicle can go up... it's just that its shock absorbers will suffer a bit.
    3. As we arrived late (at night) to the sector, we could not go up to the campsite immediately, so we spent the night in the cabins of the Entre Lomas tourist complex (13 kilometers further down, and as the road is very bad, it takes a few 40 minutes to arrive). The value per night varies depending on the number of guests, we paid $60,000 CLP for a cabin for 4 people

    4. The entrance to the park is reserved from the website www.pasesparques.cl and has a value of $4,000 CLP for Chileans over 18 years of age and $2,500 for young people between 13 and 17 years of age (less than that they do not pay). Foreigners pay $8,500 CLP for those over 18 years of age, $4,500 CLP for young people between 13 and 17 years old, and it is also free for those under that age.
    5. Camping must also pay. Contact parque.radalsietetazas@conaf.cl for updated rates
    6. The trail is of low difficulty although with the weight of the backpack it can be a little tiring. Bring enough water (although from kilometer 8 you can collect water from the streams). The night is usually cold so it is recommended to bring warm clothing.
