The first cadence is so good that my school's drum line is taking the tenor part and revamping it into an entirely new and different cadence. I'm going to be honest and say that the tenor part to this schools cadence is making one of the best sounding cadences at my high school. I thank this school for putting a great sounding cadence on CZcams for other drum lines to hear.
I'm not sure which Spring Hill High School this is but if they are from Texas, this is a military-style marching band. A lot of school districts in East Texas march 6-to-5 military-style drills. That's probably why the snares sound the way they do.
@@zayhrd yeah man I've been a drummer and percussionist I just learned with my band teacher if we call a percussionist a drummer we run like 2 laps around the field lol
hey man, my high school drumline is smaller than that. We have 1 tenor. 2 snares. 4 bass. 2 cymbals. At our final competition, we took home 5 trophies, 2 of which were for outstanding percussion. If everybody is dedicated, a small battery can do anything.
colton schmidt my school has 1 tenor 1 snare and 2 basses no pit. Be grateful for what you have in your band. At every competition I’ve been in in my 6 years of marching, we have gotten last place in all. My school doesn’t fund band whatsoever.
colton schmidt we have 3 bass drums the other one was in pit if he was not we would have 4 and for quads they put him in pit too but on stands he plays quads we don’t have cymbals we have 3 snares but the one is in pit too but on stands he plays snare our band director wanted a big pit this year
Lmao what makes you think that. Im pretty sure being pit section leader and center marimba means i at least know something. Also now im positive its a lie considering how defensive you got about it.
ppaannddaa _ Woah that's awesome I love marimba , but I'm a quad player ... and actually are drumline is pretty small we are getting a lot of players but this year we had 1 quad 1 Snare and 2 Bass 😂😂😂😂

I can't say I've ever seen a high school group in modern days using low tension field drums.
still, i agree. they could at least use a evans marching snare head, but they used a basic tom head with moongel
It’s probs their band funding

I get 1 once a year
@@marc6602 same
our school does it every time it's a home game
I get like 1 a year 0-0
I haven’t gotten one
Now that's a tenor player
Wow. That tenor player is AMAZING! He Carries the position with only 1 tenor player. Now that's a great drummer
Not drummer percussionist
Samuel Spindle it’s technically the same. I’ve played drums my whole life and played percussion for 3 years. I was very good at it..
@@zayhrd yeah man I've been a drummer and percussionist I just learned with my band teacher if we call a percussionist a drummer we run like 2 laps around the field lol

0:19 a variation of jig 2
Actually it's a form of stick toss, but the snares are not playing the tossing sequence.
@@coyoteeffect Right?! Omg I always see this and I'm like "bruh"
@@coyoteeffect I believe he's referring to the dotted quarter note followed by the two sixteenth notes and two eighth notes as a variation of jig 2
tenors are awesome im happy to admit i march them!
Why do they hold their cymbals like that!! Ahhh that’s concert band style but damn they are amazing
Rest In Peace those zones😭
if the tenor isn't good then the snare takes over but tenor was good. i've always wanted to be in a drumline
What's the name of the second cadence?
The nerd cymbals hits hard🔥🔥🔥🔥
Why is the spock drum slightly tilted to the side?
Wtf this is good!! What's the name of the first cadence they played?!
CR 3172 we call it white oak... i go to this school
It’s a stylized version of the beginning of jig 2
Basically the same thing just on different drums
@@rockindude9 not really at all tho. Why is it jig 2? Because it has triplets?
It sounds almost identical to a cadence that we play in my high school drum line called "helicopter"
Can you make a demonstration or make a video on the music for these cadences?
Wow not bad at all I play quads but I always look down when in play
Kid in front with the drums concentration is sick
Bro part of it sounded like jig 2 💀
That gym is really quiet
Chase ik😂
do you have quad tutorial
of this drumline
Well um... those heights are... strange 😂
We have a big drum line this year
Impressive
What is the opening cadence called? That sounds awesome!
Similar to Jig 2
the performance was sick 👍
what is the first cadence called
Jig 2?
Are the two with cymbals their front ensemble, or a do they march cymbals in shows? If they are the front ensemble that’s sad it’s so small:(

colton schmidt that's 100 percent accuret. My HS has 2 tenors 5 basses 2 snares and we beat all the small bands in our region for percussion

Spring Hill High School, Longview, Texas
my schools pep rally drum song is kinda similar to this
Sheet music plz?
for my line, we have one tenors, two snares, 3 bases. that's it lol
Austin Friedenburg you have a small band! We have 8snares 3 tenors and 7basses also a bunch of people in the front ensemble. (And 4 cymbals)🤣
3-3-5
Quick flex: 6 snares, 6 basses, 3 tenors, 3 cymbals

I play cymbals and was kind of disappointed that the cymbals weren't using the marching grip.
Rightttt, like idk who the taught these kids that playing like a toy monkey is proper technique
Bill Shields yeah that’s like for an orchestral hit but not marching
Hurts how the bass drums weren’t holding the sticks properly

Why aren't snares on straps
Chaosking 1025 most modern marching snares use harnesses, traditional and hbu bands are usually the ones with slings
Great job but if there’s one thing I’ll say about my fellow quad player is don’t turn your grip around when migrating drums and watch your zones
Pretty good for a middle school👍 keep up the good work
smallest high school drumline i've ever seen. my drum line has 4 quads. 6 snares. 7 bases. and 5 cymbals.
Ryan Pandori probably a lie. considering how impractical 5 cymbals and 7 bases would be with only 6 snares
