How to get rid of rat infestation: in car Engine bay

    I got a rat in my car engine bay. It's a perfect place for the rats because it's safe from predators and it's warm especially in the winter months. Not only is this extremely dirty and sick, the rat can also eat up and destroy the electrical wires, rubber hoses, and belts in the engine bay. I'll show you how to remove the engine plastic cover (from a Toyota Sienna 2004-2010) to clean it and how to prevent the rats from coming back to the engine ever again.

    Update: It has been over 1 month now and my engine is rat-free! It's spotlessly clean! Check this out: imgur.com/a/Sksxsdg
    I've just "re-applied" the perfume today. It smells great! This is the first time I have to re-apply the perfume after 6 weeks. It still had a little bit of perfume smell to it after 6 weeks but the smell is getting pretty weak. Nothing better than a rat-free engine that smells like a flower shop!

    Today while driving home I found weird that I had vapor coming out of my hood, but since the weather is really cold I thought it was just the engine being to hot in contrast to the weather creating the vapor. Later on I stopped because I didn't see any other car doing it, not even cars of the same model as mine. I pulled over and I had 2 dead rats cooking in the engine.

    Chewing tobacco works better than perfume. just sprinkle a little around where you see signs of the rats and leave the opened can with the lid put back on in the engine compartment either wedged in somehow or you can use wire to attach the can to something so it stays put.

    • @vuaeco

Here we figure it out our friend works at a trucking company any parks his car next to a fence and on the other side is the dumpster for KFC chicken. nuthan cs this isn't necessary true. I've been in the car business my whole life, and directly, for the last 12 years. I've been a car fanatic, and take great pride in my vehicles. Just recently I ended up with a mouse/rat, getting onto my engine compartment, because it was warm and they like cozy houses. There's no food nearby, and I regularly detail my car inside and out, along with the engine compartment. I ended up having to spray something inside the engine compartment, and also use some fabric softener sheets, because they HATE them (especially the strong BOUNTY ones). Even if you keep you're car clean, they can still have go up in the engine area to stay warm.

    • @catherinem421
      @catherinem421 Před 4 lety

      Maybe, but you'll need to bleach clean the car anyway. Rodents carry disease and other such nonsense.
      Clean then prevent by using a strong smell like peppermint, Irish spring soap, cedar, etc..
