I have been monitoring the weather in Rome and it has been very hot. Florence is the same this year also. This is the reason I go to Italy in October every year. It is much cooler in Naples because it is on the ocean and is only a 75 minute train ride on the Frecciarossa.
We went in April and it was amazing weather. Little chilly but not too bad. Also, not too many tourists so we got good places to stay and eat. So many people in June🤪🤪
Are there no umbrellas in Rome? They do not know that umbrellas (especially black umbrellas) can be used to protect your skin from the scorching heat of the sun???

The sweltering heat ruins the fun. For the same reason, we use beach umbrellas even when it's not raining. We need protection from scorching sunlight so we can appreciate the experience of being on the beach.
Do you walk around with fuzzies in your ears and a action like camera on a long pole? When I was in Italy May 14th at Piazza Navona I saw someone with that gear on going thru my pictures when I got back to the states.
