OCV 'Polar Onyx' from ULSTEIN

- 'Polar Onyx' is an offshore construction vessel (IMR/SURF/Construction vessel) designed and built by ULSTEIN. Delivery to GC Rieber Shipping March 2014, contracted for 5 years by Ceona. First assignment in deep waters offshore Brazil for Petrobras.
I had the great pleasure of working on the PLSV Polar Onyx in his first contract that was in Brazil. I was the Odebrecht Company Radio Operator who chartered "Onyx". I waited for this moment in my entire professional life and it came along with the "Onyx". Onboard we had people of various nationalities and most of all a desire to finish with praise the works to be performed for Petrobras Customer, where the Polar Onyx proved versatile and able to complete all work in record time even in bad weather.
Today, what I have left is only the longing for "Onyx" and I would love to one day be with him again! It was a gift from God to be part of this story.

Very good video of an outstanding vessel with e huge crane and many features which well make for a happy crew at sea under any conditions. I, too, enjoyed the music, which apparently was created for this video.

Polar Onyx was constructed at the Ulstein Verft.
