However wexisting heatpumps freeze over when temp drops beliow 5-10 C below zero making them useless for much of the industrilaized wotrld in winter. Resistive heating is needed to thaw them which is not an energy saver at all.

I really wanted to see them expand into flow batteries, and even gravity for municipal energy storage solutions. Lithium is great for consumer applications, but is quickly outclassed for larger buildouts. I realize that they've put a ton of investment into Lithium, but they need to start adopting the right tool for the right job.

Beautiful to see that all the madness of radical outsourcing became obsolete for Tesla. Had worked in the 90s in the construction department for a wheel manufacturer who serviced all kind of customers with Aluminium and Steel types for car, truck and tractor companies. It took up to 2 years from the design idea to the first prototyping and material tests of a new wheel. Endless discussions and meetings with the German giants (Audi, BMW, Daimler, Porsche, Volkswagen) had been nerve wrecking. No team work orientation ... always centralized and harsh arrogant hierarchy from top to bottom. Was not fun at all. Now these concerns pay the price being beaten by a new comer like Tesla with an integrsted supply chain managemrnt and dynamic Chinese brands (Nio, BDY ...)😂
