That place was like a time capsule. Something happened in the 60's that stopped this man functioning completely. He carried on living yet stopped living at the same time. So sad.
I thought the exact same thing. May he rest in peace.
You just made me realize that 60 years ago is actually the 60s... Some reason I was thinking the 40s, how time flies.
Maybe his son died in Vietnam
Dirty chav
G.M. C Where?
Made me sad when they mentioned keeping valuable things for the family! This man died neglected and alone. If he had family they didn't care.....
Where there's a Will, there's a Relative. 👀
Claudia Stockman I thought the same 😔
I knew a elderly woman whose home almost this bad but not quite yet. I use to check in on her and insist she let me clean, she was always reluctant but later thankful. Her siblings lived 5 mins away but refused to help her clean... they claimed she wanted to live like that and wouldnt accept help. But they didn't really insist. She's passed away now. ❤so sad.
@@daniellewallace7914 Siblings 5min away and still full of excuses! Aahh I groan inside when I hear these stories. You did really good. To check and always offer to help. She was probably embarrassed that she hasn't the strength anymore and her own family wouldn't help her, but a total stranger would.....sad aye? Least she had an ounce of relief at last when you'd check on her and tidy up after her, let her feel love again one last time. Now she's finally resting! Best sleep ever where nothing can hurt her, some of her last memories were my neighbour came and would help me, her name was Danielle. Thanx for sharing............
Family may have visited but some people don’t like it when someone comes and tries to help them clean the place. My great grandmother was like that, her house was disgusting, but she didn’t want any of us to clean it and help her out.
So weird and disturbing to see a brand new ketchup standing there. He bought it because he thought he would use it, and then he died. So weird to see peoples homes after their death
It's very strange walking into the home of a dead family member. The place is untouched and they are the only thing that's missing.
My grandmother died suddenly and her kitchen calendar was full of handwritten appointments for things she never got to do.
My dad was an illustrator, freelance artist. He died in January 2020. Around 3 months later a package arrives at our house and it was a bottle of ink from Japan. It was strange and really saddening.
My mom died suddenly in her house while I was with her. It was very odd to get some groceries and packages delivered to her that I could really give to her. I still remember, apparently she ordered a heating pad and some sunglasses.
They should be wearing masks! I can’t imagine breathing in 60 year old dust!
@Joe Marley no but still
@Joe Marley This was filmed before covid. He's talking about breathing in the harmful cake of dust.
Ig that's how their immune system built up
Spot on
Because it's fake. Some objects have no dust.
Bless the poor man’s heart. He obviously didn’t have anyone looking after him in his old age. Just makes me so sad.
Or maybe he had, some people just don't want help and aren't thankful for the ones who are around them and trying to give them love.
My dad is just like that, I have tried so long to help him and help our relationship. But then you realize, that if you have a dad (or someone else) that still treats you like shit, when you tried everything. Then they don't deserves to have your help, time or love.
I rather help a random old lady or man that appreciate me😊
It made me almost cry
Terri Baran You’re such a caring person💛
Not Aname okay you can fuck RIGHT off
Not Aname wow you’re totally edgy.

As someone that suffers from diagnosed depression, this made me sad and makes me feel a little less bad about how I often dismiss keeping my place tidy. Today in a fit of inspiration and willpower, I spent 8+ hours cleaning, washing clothes and dishes, and sweeping. This video makes me want to put my gloves back on and help others also suffering the same.
Proud of you!🫶🏼
Whenever I'm feeling unmotivated to tidy my flat I watch a UK TV show called How Clean Is Your House and I'm instantly in the mood to clear up. Whatever works I suppose. 🤷♀️😁 I know I'm a year late but hope you're keeping well hun! 💪❤🧹
@@arianaajbeaverhausen8175 Thank you for the reply! I still struggle with cleanliness due to current awkward situations. I am between housing between my camper & my parents' place. When I am there, I always sweep, wipe counters, etc. but I suppose when I am left totally to my own devices I just lose all inspiration in a depression rut. I guess because nobody else has to see, live with or clean up my mess. Ugh. Awful.
HOWEVER. now that I have started two fish tanks (one 10 gal & one 5 gal), it's kept me encouraged to keep up with cycling, water quality, etc.
I love watching my fish swim & thrive and it's been a huge help in my gradual recovery! Especially knowing they rely on me for water quality, medication, etc.

Cedric is a happy soul, a little ray of sunshine, his girlfriend is very lucky
Shame on the 'family' wanting valuables but leaving him to survive like that.
Often they don't know they are family. Probably somebody from the council acting on their behalf who will try to find the family later.

Still sucks we can leave another human being like this.
That house would have not been in such a state had his family been involved in the deceased man's life.
Wonder if he had a carer that would come in a few days a week to assist him.
We can’t judge the family either. Maybe he himself don’t want them to touch this property. Family can’t do nothing if he against with it. Some is stubborn too. Just saying.
Or maybe the old man didn't want any help. Don't make any assumptions when you don't know those people.
It bothers me so much that they're not wearing masks and goggles.
Me to, I honestly so much agree with you. It’s bad for their health!
Same here
Like I said, they should practice what they preach.
YEp.
They only have to wear masks when there is animal excrement in the home. This home didn't really warrant much safety precaution. Also, goggles wouldn't do anything for them.
the guy who's life revolved around love was so surprisingly wholesome, that's how i want to live.

I don't like to think that there's an untouched rag out there that has been on this Earth longer than I've been alive
Why aren't these guys wearing respirators?

Hello, that's what I thought!!!
Idk I would be wearing a mask AT LEAST some people are just thick headed though just let natural selection happen
I agree! That’s bad stuff to be inhaling!
This doc is not about the guy who died and his filthy house it’s about idiots in love who have to clean it.
The magical part about this ...the zero signs of roaches or bugs in the house ..just dust in dirt ... 🤔 amazing..
Theres nothing for them to eat
It's so filthy that even roaches and bugs are disgusted to live inside the house.
The bugs came and went
I live in the uk and I’ve never seen a roach so I don’t think we have them here
It doesn't appear that there was rancid food sitting outside of the fridge.
Breaks my heart that an elderly person was living this way.

Probably more in love with the idea of being able to stay in the UK by hooking up with a local.
The family doesn’t deserve a damn thing, they couldn’t check on him but want valuable things, HELL NO.
And they couldnt even be bothered to clean up his house now after he died and sort through his things
You dont know the situation, do you?
You really should think before you write up things on the internet, you never know what his family have been through and are still going through, this mans story with his family could be anything but you choose to assume that they didn't care. Imagine if they did care but he didn't like being around people and they were to see this comment, how do you think that would make them feel? I hate when people speak of situations they know nothing about
maybe the man had mental issues meaning he would allow help. maybe the family didnt know of him beore his passing. you do NOT Know this man or his family.
Maybe he was an abusive father. Who knows.
Sad that a human being was living in this squalor & nobody offered to help him. But after he is dead the family want what is of value? The most valuable thing in there, just died. My heart breaks for the old soul.
Cedric needs his own show! He gave me secondhand joy 🖤
“If it’s meant to be fun they wouldn’t pay you to do it” is the most British anecdote ever.
Yep, and such a glass half empty approach to life. 💔
There is a saying
"If you enjoy your job, you'll never work a day in your life".
That is a world wide saying
@@angelamarreiros2919 i dont know, some jobs you dont do because its fun. cleaning up filth for a living isn't fun, after all. but really if your job sucks money is the motivator. i get like that a work. when im exhausted and grumpy and just over it i just have to think, 'they're paying me to do this, so i might as well do it well'.
Hey ,, they appreciate their jobs,. Laughing, joking,. !!?should they be mad?! NOT !
His family failed him, support services failed him....how could anyone leave a poor elderly man to live like this. I’m absolutely disgusted to the point I can’t watch past the first couple of minutes of the video.
LipstickConspiracies How do you know he had family? If it was just him and his wife and they had no children, there’s no one else. Plus, if support services don’t know someone is there, they can’t help. They’re not mind readers.
That's the reason why since I started working I've been putting money away so that when I can't take care of myself anymore I'll be able to afford living the rest of my days in a nice retirement home. That way I can be sure I won't end up like this poor bastard
Sinista Productions they say at the beginning
@@sinistaproductions9164 they literally say that those men are searching for stuff that could be of value, to give to the family.
Perhaps he failed his family? I speak from experience, my dad lives similar.
The house tells a story. Decades of sadness and loneliness 😞
The thing to keep in mind is that this isn't something that happened to him recently. Clearly whatever was wrong with him happened back in the late 1940s to early 1950's and got progressively worse. Either no one ever visited or they visited but didn't care about the state of the house.
Maybe he wasn't a pleasant individual.
Or maybe the only relatives he had never knew him.
@@imaloserbaby That's a good point. My maternal grandmother was not a pleasant person and none of the family communicated with her during the last 18 months of her life because she would scream abuse at you when you came round. When she died, her house was still a mess but luckily it wasn't this bad. But there's only so much someone can put up with their abusive mother while dealing with everything and everyone else in life.
The family of this man should be ashamed of themselves.
I agree but don't dont disregard the possibility he may not of had any family
Why should the family be ashamed
Why?

they are not allowed to because they can pass out from how much oxygen and pullution is in the uk and in that house
"Save anything of value for the family" - some family that let's their loved one live like this... Absolutely no excuse for this.
Well, you don't know the situation. Maybe he did not had good contacts with his remaining family. Maybe the family tried to help but they got shut down.
Some people just want to live alone and die.
Or you're right and he got abandoned. Couldn't afford care and died in his sleep.
We don't know.
@@richa16x I'm sorry but at a certain point if you care about someone you have to take control of the situation. My mother cares for people with dementia in all stages. Almost all of them are very stubborn and don't want help with certain things (showering for instance) you just need to take your time and talk to them, explain why you're doing things. Or find a compromise like using a washcloth that time. Imagine if your mother was living like this, I wouldn't accept no for an answer from her, because I love her. Would you?
@@RosesxKissesxLove
Again, you dont know what the relation between the family was. You are applying your own family on to this situation.
Maybe the guy was fine in the head, maybe he got hostile.
If someone doesn't want help they got the right to refuse it.
What if the family wants to take him but he just seals the door and tells them to F off?
My stepdad has a very different relation with his mom than I have with mine.
When he moved out as a kid the mom just threw out his old room and made it ready for renters. In her eyes the room was not efficient empty. But it did not mean he didn't love him.
My mom is like, I want there always to be a place for you in my house.
We both have a good relationship with our mothers, but it is different.
I'm my eyes, my stepdad moms action was cruel. But in their eyes it's just logic and they are fine.

I did read it, and I get it with taking time.
But people that don't want any of that exists as well. The family might have given up, you can only spend so much energy. They have their own lives to worry about aswell.
If they have 3 children and working, there is no time for things like that. Especially when the other person doesn't want to.
I feel like sneezing just watching this.
How come they're breathing just fine without mask and goggles??!!
His family didn't care for him but they wanted anything of value.

Totally wrong. The walls do not clean themselves like lungs do.
@Ujuani Abelsen possibly but he lived a long life so it clearly didn’t have that much of an affect on him
I've noticed how people keep saying he was a poor elderly man who was abandoned... we don't know how he lived his life and its possible that he may have been difficult to live with or the family suffered from dysfunction because of him and they couldn't wait to leave him where he is to not be reminded of such a terrible past. Criminals and abusers can get old too.
How sad that this man did not have anyone who cared about him .so much for care in the community . As they said he fell through the net,
The papers from the 60s is valuable and I don’t see how they aren’t sneezing

However when my dad (third child) turned 4, my grandad left them and they didn't see him until my dad was 18 when my grandad suffered a heart attack and died in hospital.

Probably because they judged it and decided that it wasn’t enough of a hazard to need masks. But idk.
Dont tell the professionals how to do it there a full comment section full of armchair experts like you allready
Dust would get trapped in the mask so wouldn’t actually be that useful
@@Rin_Evans dust can't get into masks especially if you use fresh filters.
@@Tom-uv7ry many so colled professionals lack education in judging danger especially in the department dust, one might even go as far as company owners go as far as intentionally misleading to cut cost on the expanse of the health of their eonployees, especially in joby that do not have proper education! One example, I am from Germany and we have different regulations, but a certain jobs need a degree of some sort to be executed, for example even at the construction site most people have a so called gesellenbrief, means they have education in that field and are properly trained and government approved, this training includes some sort of danger education, but jobs like cleaning houses Do not require those degrees and therefore lack the education!
They are literally a DIRT BUSTERS. Very tiring job ! I salute you guys.
How do I always end up on this side of youtube in the middle of the night?
The wardrobe was gorgeous. I would’ve loved his furniture it makes me sad that they are destroying it. Some people have no respect for vintage stuff
Hockey Girl honestly it was probably so dry rotted and contaminated that restoring it would cost more than it’s worth. i agree that vintage furniture can be beautiful but with the state of that house i don’t think many things were worth the time and possible money it would take to fully restore it.
Just destroying antiques that could be cleaned. Here in a america antiques is a big business. You would find someone to buy them and take them home to clean. I would have loved them.
A W I agree with you it was a tragedy. You know it just goes with the new culture. Out with the old in with the new
Maybe its just my culture, but i feel like that furniture has been "touched" by the sadness the man had lived with for so long... i would not have good thoughts if I were to buy it. Its like buying a dead strangers jewlrey that their family didn't want to keep. :/
「LITTLE RED CORVETTE」 I believe that objects can have the spirit of the owners but I would pray in Jesus name and be free to use it. Of course I would pray over it before I put it in my house. Spirits are real even though many people don’t believe this. I like old things So sometimes I go to estate sales where people have no respect for the dead. God will judge
I used to work with elderly people (social services) and I can tell you, this is by no means the worst. I've seen, 6' high pillars of old newspapers/magazines, carpets caked in ancient food stuffs, kitchens absolutely covered in sticky old fat, soaking wet rotting plaster walls, huge piles of cash, baths and toilets overflowing with dried shit and also bowls of old vomit. I kid you not! There's hundreds of old people living alone like this across the country and until there's a specific need for someone to visit and enter their properties (e.g. major health problem or an accident like a fall) it's all hidden away.
NO MASKS?!?! Soooooo much dust, I couldn't even imagine!!!!
I like it how they actually heart comments unlike other big youtubers
I actually like how respectful these guys are to the posessions and situation, unlike most shows nowadays which are mostly all about being SSOOO DRAMATIC
actually quite a lot of sentiment and historical value in that house
Yes, there was a lonely old person living there.

These fellas need to be wearing masks. You’re breathing in all that old dust and bacteria spores. As bad as this is, it cannot be the worst because I’ve seen worse as an insulator renovating homes in Canada. I’ve seen “fur” on people’s pictures throughout an entire house which would be a combination of pet dander, hair, cigarette smoke and dead skin cells. I’ve seen clothing piled up 5 feet high in laundry rooms still soiled next to four feet high of used diapers. The smell that could collapse a Clydesdale.
The amount of limescale in the kettle 💔feel sorry for that old man he must've been so destitute
Ipswich and the surrounding area has literally some of the hardest water in the entire UK.
When I moved into my flat, I had to clean years of cigarette smoke off the walls and woodwork with sugar soap before painting. The nicotine would drip off in bright orange globs. It was disgusting!
What's sugar soap? I can look it up, just never heard that before.
It's some sort of detergent soap that looks like sugar crystals.
@@athenian221 it's known in North America as TSP trisodium phosphate. It's an extremely powerful cleaner despite its sweet name
Thats not nicotine, thats tar. But still just as gross
My camper was the same when we got it. The guy who owned it before us smoked like a pack a day. There’s still nasty on the ceiling where my five foot ass can’t reach. There’s a marked difference on the walls near the top too, where it goes from baby blue to a weird grey brown color. 🤢🤢
This is what happens when the government cuts social care. Houses become like this when occupants with certain disabilities and mental health conditions are getting inadequate support.
Care in the community is more like abandonment behind closed doors.
Elders with no family or support can end up like this too.
The people in the home feel so overcome they close down and fail to see it anymore. It's heartbreaking.

The only light in this video is that guy in love haha
I really like the soundtrack of these videos, groovy and set a atmosphere
I feel like destroying all of that antique furniture was unnecessary
Anthony Derryberry well... it has nowhere else to go besides the tip 😕
That One Background Character it could go to charity shops etc
A Lewin ok you make a good point
@@abil8296 i think they already selected it but doesn't filmed it
@@MsSeeingdouble you can always clean and upscale things if it has a good structure which most old things do👍
I wish Cedric was able to finish his schooling despite being in love :(
I'm under the impression that this job is enough that if he wanted to save up for it, he could get what he needed together in only a year or two.
God bless that poor man, if his family just left him to live like this, and they just wanted the valuables, they don’t deserve anything, sometimes elders completely break down and fail, they have to have support and help, I can’t believe anyone just left him to live like that!!
Family might not have been bad people. Maybe after the war he was depressed and withdrew from them? Maybe he wasn't a nice guy? You never know. I had an older gentleman I helped care for in a home and wondered why his children never came actually no one came to visit after dropping him off and kids told us not to call them. An uncle told us it was because the old guy was abusive to his wife and kids for years until he drank so much he developed a neurological condition that gave him dementia and needed put in a home. He hallucinated a lot and went from talking to himself to yelling at everyone and trying to hit us and he punched another resident. He had to be sent to a psych facility.
Cedric is an awesome guy. Very joyful personality :)
