  • Sugar is just about my favorite thing in the whole world--but if I'm not extremely careful, too much of a good thing can become a bad thing. Today, some thoughts about cutting back on the sweet stuff and forming habits of subtraction.

    Here's the pretty tolerable banana cookie recipe I mention in the episode: Two ripe bananas (mash them into oblivion with a fork); 1.5 cups of quick or rolled oats; chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate to taste; 1/4 cup shopped walnuts or pecans (optional); ground cinnamon to taste (optional); bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or longer for more crispiness.
