I guess my wife is right - that extra 1/4 inch does make a difference...
Lol
The extra width never hurts either. Wait, or does it?... What are we talking about again?
Mower? I hardly know her.
mmacejko929 lmao 😂
Captain Hiltz 😂😂😂
I love how you can leave it running rather than having to restart it every time you have to move the picnic table or the kids toys
I don't even have a lawn and you have me considering buying one.
Ai
Why are you watching if you don't have a lawn?
PJalst Maybe because I plan on getting a good damn lawn. Maybe I like his videos. MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, I LIKE WATCHING VIDEOS ABOUT LAWNS!
All joking aside, I used to have a lawn and used a lot of his tips. I still thunps-up his content because it's quality stuff.
That's what Toro asked the guy to do...
@Ehsaan Kahlon what are you talking about and who are you replying to?
I’m ten years old not joking and my dad has bought this mower and I mowed the backyard and this thing is amazing
Michaels Balloons td battles he bought a ten year old a $1000 mower?
Anthony Sturm yep it was worth it
Really enjoying your videos. Within a only a few weeks of watching your videos, I am now throwing down milo and just purchased a timemaster, all because of you. Keep up the great work.
Been following you channel for awhile. I just recently moved from a yard just over and acre to a house on the golf course in East Texas so I sold off my Hustler Raptor (which was an awesome zturn) and downsized to this mower per your review and I must say this is absolutely the best walk behind I’ve ever owned. Thank you for the great review
Up here in Wyoming it's snowed once already so the lawn season is almost over for me 😫 thanks so much for ur videos lawn care nut! My lawn is a rental lot and last year I had no idea as to wat I was doing but wanted a lawn, I started with no grass at all! Failed miserably! Had no lawn at the end of last year, found u in June this year, and my lawn is now an eye catcher from the curb! Still needs work but already getting attention! Just wanted to thank you and let u know that ur genius is rock solid up here in Wyoming! Ur videos will get me through this winter ! So glad u didn't get hammered to hard with Irma! I will be a proud toro owner next year as well!
I got the Toro time master in March and I absolutely love it!!! I have a thick lawn that I usually don't get to mow until it's longer than I would like never had a problem with it clogging....mulch is great and bags great...love this beast!!!
Great job putting together such a “hands on” review!! I am in the process of additional sodding on my 1/2 race of St Augustine. I will be needing to upgrade from my 21” Super Recycler.
Bought a timemaster last week from my local dealer. Love it! My wife hasn’t noticed yet :)
Was on the fence for a while between the timemaster, Honda hrx & super recycler. Almost went with one of the others b/c of the cut quality. But the timemaster far exceeded my expectations. I have about 13k sq feet of super thick tall fescue and it’s looking great. I’ve used it twice now and even in slightly wet grass it mulched perfectly. No a single clump and did not fray at all. Sharp blades help but I intend on keeping them that way.
Briggs & Stratton engines are fine if you’re diligent with the maintenance. I also use ethanol free gas which makes a big difference. My old mower is a basic 7 year old craftsman with a brigs engine. That has always started on the first pull.
Very pleased with timemaster so far and would highly recommend it!
I bought this mower today after watching your review and the review you posted on the new HRX217 series. I forgot about a gas shut off valve in my front lawn and caused major damage to my 7 year old Honda. Rather than pay $400 to fix it I decided to replace it. Your review for this mower was convincing and made my decision for me. Thank you.
My mother will be 83 this year and still mows her own yard (which isn't a flat yard). She bought a new Toro last year and loves it. The dealer told her NOT to use the wash-out port though. He explained that unless you can wash it out and completely dry it you should avoid using it.
Glad you had this review I just picked one up for $125 at an auction needs a couple belts and wheel bearing but fires up on first pull can’t wait to try it out now!!!
Used my new Timemaster for the first time today in our front yard, and the results are pretty close to amazing. Not perfect yet, but much nicer looking than the local mower guy who has been cutting for us the last three summers. Backyard tomorrow morning, and then repeat in four days, rain permitting here in Mid-Michigan. Happened upon this particular mower by watching your various videos last summer, and have learned a whole lot more about lawncare in that time. 2019 will be the summer that I dominate our neighbors' lawns. Thanks Allyn!
Allyn thanks for a great review on this mower, because your detailed review this was the mower I bought over the Memorial Day weekend. Shows up tomorrow can’t wait to try it.
Thanks for your effort
Nice review, I too am a huge Toro fan! I have a Super Recycler that still starts on the first pull, and I dont even remember how old it is... When I am ready for a new mower , it will definitely be a Toro! Also wanted to take the time to say that I am a new subscriber and your channel is awesome, I have already started using your tips.
Thumbs up to toro letting you be you in this one, the fact that it’s not all over the top happy and scripted makes it so much more believable and, well, you which us lawncare nuts like. Keep up the good work
Thanks for doing this review on this!! Iowa native but I'm down in your neck of the woods across the bay in St. Pete right now. All I can say is this humidity is no joke!
Thanks to you Allyn my lawn is ship shape and emerald green. Keep up the great vids !
That's a legit lawn you have there!! Thanks for the review! I've been on the fence about purchasing this mower for quite some time.
Bought this today...picking it up tomorrow. I'll be smiling too when I am mowing. 😊
Excellent review Hane, Thanks! When it comes to push-mowers, this one is SO "beastmode"
Love my Time Master. Been using it for 2 seasons. 17000sqft. Total domination.
I just bought one! Being delivered today!!!! THANKS FOR THE REVIEW MAN!!! UR a STAR!!!!! Can't wait to use it!!!
OK - took a 90 minute cut down to less than an hour. WHAT A BEAST!!!!!!! This machine is TREMENDOUS!!!! Could not be happier! Thanks Allyn!
I bought mine this past spring and I've mowed my lawn at least once a week since then with absolutely no issues. Make sure to get the 2017 model though. It has bigger engine, 223cc instead of 190cc for previous years. Also older models have transmission issues. From what I understand, they have been resolved. No problems with mine. If cutting tall overgrown lawn, you need to side discharge instead of mulch to keep from choking up.
I have had Toro mowers (and other products) for over 25 years and they NEVER let me down. The best part about buying a Toro from an actual dealer is that they usually stock the replacement parts for the mowers that they sell. Plus, you can still get the parts for a Toro that is 20+ years old, which is not the case with some other "off brand" mowers.
I just bought a 223cc 2019 model and love it. It mulches as good as my Honda HRX 217 and cut my time literally in half...60 minutes to 30 minutes. It has plenty of power to move through the grass...seems like faster than I could with my 200cc Honda. I find that I mow a faster speed with the personal pace system vs select drive and I don't have to overlap the cut as much. I think the Honda only gave my about 18 inches due to the blade not fully overlapping the wheels. I probably get a full 28 to 30 inches with the Time Master. Time will tell how it holds up. I hope it's just simple maintenance and changing belts. I hope they have fixed the former transmission problems I have heard about. I have had great luck with a Toro snow blower for nearly 20 years, so feel confident in the Time Master.
Jeff Stewart thinking about selling my hrx with hydro this spring and grabbing the 223cc toro. Looking for a wider cut. How have you liked yours?
Awesome review, definitely sold me on the mower! Thank you!
Keep the blades sharp and it's a great mower.
Put an hour meter on it so you can nail those service intervals.
i have a lightly used 2013 time cutter i bought early this spring, changed the oil, sharpened the blades and i have at least 20-1 hour cuts of my lawn this summer...works awesome, i modified the side chute with a bungy cord to hold the door wide open and the clippings go shooting out nicely with no clumping...best $550 iv'e spent in a while
Been waiting for this video!, I'll definitely be picking one up once my 21" is toast, I have roughly the same sized yard as you and it takes me about an hour or so to cut it, not including all the trimming and clean up afterwords. That would definitely help cut some time down.
I feel very blessed to have pick one of these up used and poorly taken cared of... BUT, I found a local dealer who could do a full service and boom! It’s AMAZING!
Alan you have such a great channel here you and Conner Ward are great to watch. I just bought the Timemaster today. Cheers!! Stay green :)
Pulled the trigger on this one today - cannot wait.
VERY HARD to find for some reason - no dealers could tell me IF or WHEN they would be getting anymore.
Same for the Timecutter 34", which was also being considered.
Had to order from HD unfortunately, I should have it at the house by end of June.
You review was instrumental in my decision - thank you for your work.
Love my time master. It did break down on me after 1 year though. Very smooth and easy to use. Does an amazing job mulching the leaves. As far as going through the gate my subdivision is homes built in the 50s with I think a standard 28 inch gate so it will not go through. I can however go through the garage and out the other door to get to the backyard. As far as power I think it can be a little bit beefier especially for the price of the mower. Little more power would definitely help mowing wet grass. Don't normally mow when it's wet but depending on your schedule you might have to. It's definitely a heavy solid mower but can easily be pushed with one hand. Also, every now and then I beg the leaves but it's a pain trying to empty grass or leaves in a standard size lawn waste bag. As long as I can keep this mower out of the repair shop I love this thing.
LOVE MY TORO TIME MASTER!!!! Can't stop #EnjoyTheMow. I picked one up for a deal at the end of the season last fall to take the place of my 42" rider and allows me to get a little more walking in. Now I need to get my hands on a striping kit so I can #DominateMyNeighbors!!!
Does it still run good? Lookin at getting one
Looking a new mowers so defiantly will be putting this one on the list! Champion!
I’ve had one for 3 years now not one problem... does great for me!
Great review, just placed an order for mine today.
Thank you for a great review of the TimeMaster, after watching I went down to my local dealer and made the purchase. It's raining, so i'll have to wait. Thanks again!
+Forward Values you're welcome. EnjoyTheMow bro!
I picked one of these up this summer that was used only a few times for $650. I have several acres so I use an old Bunton 48" walk behind for most of it but this helps me maneuver around those tighter spots and works as a back up. I agree it's great mower and mulches really well. If I could only get my Bunton to mulch that well. I rented an older Timemaster a few years back and it was not nearly as good, I believe they may have made some design updates.
Bought mine almost 3 years ago when the local HD was discounting them to reduce the inventory because they weren't selling. The self-propelled went out after a year, but the local dealer in Sarasota fixed it and I've had no mechanical troubles since. It's a great mulcher but the chute clogs up quickly if you are bagging St. Augustine.
I absolutely loved my Toro Timemaster when I had one. Only issue I had is that it seemed to struggle with wet grass.
I use the time master for my lawn business and zero issues other than blade sharpening well worth the money
RD flippo
How’s it holding up now?
I've got one and I absolutely love it. I would highly recommend getting one if you have a large yard.
Yes it's worth buying...
I have the same exact mower...
That mower performs great. I have Bluegrass mixed with tall fescue and it leaves great stripes.the blades are very easy to change or sharpen you can adjust the handle in the upwards position and then go to the front of the mower and lift it up and it makes it easy to access blades it is the easiest mower that I've ever had to change blades or sharpen blades. It performs great and it's definitely worth the investment. I greatly appreciate the tip about the dealer doing the pickup and drop-off.
Glad I found this, super helpful in my selection process.
Great video and I love the mower too!
Great review. I have 10,000 sqft and I'll definitely be purchasing a timemaster mower early next year. I'll finish the year off with my 22" craftsman in the meantime.
Allen keep rocking out the videos I take note because come next summer hopefully I can start to dominate my neighbor.
Hey, Rice's my local dealer too. lol. I got my time master back in 2015. I use it so much other these few years, that your grass would cause mine to bog down. Good to know they pick up and deliver in the off season. I didn't know that.
I just got a 22" Recycler this past Spring (20333) and I agree, getting from a dealer is waaay better than from a "big box store." I found websites where people complain about Toros and invariably they had purchased them from HD (most complaints were not starting after 2 or 3 years (kept ethanol gas in the tank) and "the wheel just fell off." My . . . not local (they suck) but "nearby" dealership has been doing great by me - like you, they put it together, added gas & oil and ran me through a short tutorial of all the features. They also have the pickup & delivery for maintenance/winterizing. And they double checked the wheels, at my request, that they were on tight and straight, so they wouldn't get chewed up by the gears (and the wheels have metal gears, not plastic!)
That boy rocks have one going on 5 years no issues
Great video. I have the 22” and I absolutely love it. I can only imagine the great the 30” does
I tried my Timemaster yesterday and “Wow”. My grass was almost knee high in places and this thing choked it down like nothing. I had my gas cap come off a couple of times while going close to bushes. I banged the lawn out in no time. One of my neighbors was disappointed that it wasn’t a harder job.
I just picked one up yesterday, great mower and it handles really well. The larger engine has plenty of power and cut right through the thick areas, my only wish is for a bigger gas tank! It seems to be a common complaint, and stopping to add gas is a hassle. For what it's worth, I mowed just under half an acre in just over an hour.
Good review, appreciated the subjective opinions vs talking points of the other Toro reviews. The wash out port is a nice touch on this, although I’d worry about the deck rusting with regular use. Used to the Nexite decks on my Hondas.
Please keep us updated on the new timemaster! The older version that I own after two years has caused me nothing but headaches. Great cut but according to my local dealer guys, the Briggs motors are junk. Hoping the newer, more powerful version is better. I want to hate this machine...but the cut is just a work of art!
Please let us know how things go and if you encounter any issues as they've had issues with the belts, pulleys, bad head gaskets, and I hear the new version has sold duds that have had to be taken back.
Cheers, Allyn!
Your best sponsored video so far, good review
LCN goodmornig from Greece!!! Love your videos..! So in wich cases we have to cut the lawn too low?? what kind of grass are they using in golf fields ? thank you very much!
I too have a timemaster mower ,since it is a recycler, the grass catcher bag tends to clog up quik. still cuts great ,I bought and installed the striping kit from toro . man does this really make your yard show good....looks like a base ball field after cutting several times....
Just bought one, looking forward to mowing.
I've had mine for two seasons and absolutely love it. Got it about this time of year at Home Depot for super mega clearance price. I think I paid $799.
socallaghan01 that’s a steal! This thing is 1,099 or 1,199 for electric start. Might as well get a riding lawn mower for a few hundred more
Nice review on the TimeMaster 30". I am still deciding between the Cub Cadet 33" cc800. and the Timemaster as a mulcher . The Cub is much heavier but has nice casters and a heavier duty transmission. I have a slight incline in the front lawn and wonder how the timemaster will handle that with the light duty trans . Any thoughts in general ?
Can we get a 2 year review of the timemaster, after reading reviews I'm concerned with belt and transmission wear. I'd like to hear your luck with yours over time before I pull the trigger on a $1k+ machine.
Bought one. Wasn't to thrill. Felt clunky and cheaply made. Didn't feel I'll get 10 yrs out of it. Returned it for a Honda HRX.
@@SigXman I've had an hrx for a few years now, you won't regret it. But am looking for something in the walk behind style 30" or so. But I think I've settled on the ferris fw15, thanks for the reply though.
@@23Navarone So, I thought hmmm let me look at an FW15... yeah, it's @3K... very nice though
Don’t buy the time master . I had to repair 3 times in less then a year. Any long grass will bog it down and sometimes even burn the belts.
awesome video Allen!! I am thinking of buying the Time master
Your voice is perfect for keeping attention yet not being annoying
I have that mower we use it for our residential lawns and it did well when we just got it however after about 3 months of use the motor to blade belt stretches out to the point you don't have a good blade speed. The blade actuator cable also snapped on us in the same time frame. I love the mower nut kinda upset that the mower has these issues and hope once they are fixed we don't have them again.
Best mower I have ever owned. Bought mine used. It's a beast. Makes grest stripes. Has more than enough power. No mower is perfect for every situation. Works perfectly for my 1/2 acre with slight grade. Got my 2016 model for $500. If u are on the fence, keep an eye on Craigslist, Letgo, etc... found mine on Craigslist. Good luck.
I've been looking into these for a while too. Wish it had a built in striping system so I didn't have to tow something behind it, but overall looks good. Nice job Allyn.
if you have cool season turf it will stripe like a champ right out of the box. Check out Ryan Knorr's channel - he makes awesome stripes with his
Thanks for the plug! I do find that it stripes well and as Allyn mentioned, there's plenty of videos on my channel where you can check it out.
Wow it's a personal pace time master. I love my mow n stow. Nice review! Now I need to go measure my garage to see if it fits! (12,000 sqft of yard to mow here!)
I have two Exmark 30". I have had them for 3 seasons now and I love them. Yes, they have there issues, but once you know these mowers well you can stock on spare parts. Also, maintenance is important for these mowers.
Ive had mine for just over a year and I use it on 10 weekly yards. I love mine!
Would you still recommend it?
Yeah do you still recommend it
How does that mower still mulch after having it awhile?
And do you use the blades it comes with or change it to a better mulching blade? Thx
I set one side of my HRX one notch higher on the curb side of the road because my lawn is actually higher than the curb, otherwise it will cut too low near the road and not give me the squared look that I prefer. I was seriously considering going to a larger mower like this Toro until I saw the one sided height adjustment. Convenient, but actually removes a feature that I would need.
Thanks for the review. I enjoyed it. God bless you!
Cool vid! The only thing I would add is that the washout valve is supposed to be used when the mover deck is at the lowest setting.
I love my TurfMaster. SOunds like it took a while, but Toro really knocked it out of the park with this one!
I moved from a 22 to this 30 in mower. Never look back. It's an awesome mower. I enjoyed mowing a lot more with this mower. It's been a year and 0 problem.
Some jaw dropping features over their regular mowers.. height adjustment, cut height, washer hose release... now I want a bigger yard so I can get one.
As a LCN fan for two yrs.. i bought this mower with no investigation and love it... does clump when grass is wet,if u dont discharge or bag.. does not stripe well in mixed lawn of kbg,and ryes.. but saves wear and tear on lawn from tractor and zero turns... five yrs ago i replaced my mowing tools.ie.. craftsman yard tractor prolly a 42in with 48 for back yard and 22in something with a briggs.. for a honda.. honda was great perfect love it... but found a dealer close out.. bought a 42in kubota zero turn with bagger! After 2yrs has 11hrs on it... because i bought a time master at the same time... long/ short.. use to take 1.5hrs with a 22in and 42in.. used to take same with honda and 48in.. rough guess... takes this long if just use time master for whole yard... oh.. i have about .75 acres wich 20k sqare foot of mowable.. landscape, trees, patios, and buildings..i yes i do have to stop stop to fill up... and doesnt always start first pull... but LCN has tought us.. relax enjoy a beverage and enjoy your mow
What's your favorite 40" walk/ride behind? I have three acres of prime TN grass to cut. I'd do a ZTR rider, but it's TN: you have two options of grade: up or down.
1" height St. Augustine reel mower cut looks great!
I just bought a new 2019 TimeMaster, what do you think about the PUC? I seen it installed on yours, and haven’t seen any real reviews on it
HI Alan i have El toro grass and i have been using a McLane reel mower the blade sharping cost is killing me. What is the lowest height can the Timemaster do? I like to keep my grass at an 1inch high. Can you recommend a very good quality rotary mower, since i been paying so much on getting the blades sharpen i rather pay top dollar once and forget it. Thanks for your time and HELP
Great review. I've been considering this mower. I have cool season grass and I see how Ryan knorr's lawn looks. But my yard May be too small. I love my super recycler.
I'm a big fan man. I want to move to Florida just to have a st Augustine lawn.
I was considering getting a time master, but when I read reviews people said that the mower was underpowered due to having to run two blades so I went with their 22" recycler instead
GM I have a question i am in the market for a mower and trying to decide between time master and super recycler which would you choose and why
Great video!
Is it way better than the Woodlawn 32" walk behind?
How the time master performs cutting wet grass?
Thank you! You help me decide to buy one. 👍
The Lawn Care Nut
When you were purchasing the TimeMaster do you also have any consideration to the commercial TurfMaster? If you did what were some of the deciding factors in going with the the homeowner version over potentially stepping up to a commercial mower?
I like that one lever adjusts 2 wheels... but a true northern LCN just mows her tall till the fall. how often am I really going to adjust the height?
I just got me one from Home Depot for around 1100$ i can’t wait to give it a try 👍🏼
How does the timemaster do on slopes? I have ditches in my yard that aren’t too steep but definitely have a pitch
Hoping you or someone reading the comments can answer this for me. My lawn is fairly hilly. I use a Honda push mower currently, which does ok. I have a tractor, but can’t use it on the hills due to the grade. Is the timemaster too heavy for the hills (causing fatigue) or is it negligible compared to the Honda?
I have two Toro Super Recyclers, so what height increments do each letter increase by? I’ve been cutting at F thinking it’s 4” but I might be wrong +The Lawn Care Nut
Nice video LCN. I know you don't like the sponsored videos, but this was well done.
would be interested in this due to wider tires than 22" toro. the tires are so narrow they "cut" into the turf and the wheel lines are "etched" into the grass for weeks. i change direction of mow pattern and where the tire tracks overlap, the grass gets matted down and dies. wondering if the wider tires would prevent so much "cutting" effect
your mowing pattern seems to have an overlap of the previous strip of several inches. is that to get a better cut or are there other reasons?
Thanks for the video maybe i should trade my masport lawn marshal in and invest myself one of those toros.rhe best part i like in the video is when u put the camera underneath as u was washing it.also when u was mowing too is how good it cuts.can u tell me what model is ur toro and how much are they.thanks
