- Rare footage from the original broadcasting of Nik Kershaw's concert Live at The Hammersmith Odeon in 1984. After the BBC2 set had finished For some reason, the 3 songs never made it onto the Hammersmith Odeon VHS release.

I'm sure these three were on the vid as I remember watching it over and over unless I'd recorded the OGWT. 🤔 I saw him only 2 weeks or so before this recording at The Edinburgh Playhouse and he was amazing. We weren't sure why he was so nasal in this recording but assumed he had a cold. Still love Nik nearly 39 years later 🤩
Hi Jennie, these songs, in fact weren't at all featured on the Hammersmith Odeon VHS. Brilliant! - I bet it was incredible and memorable. Yeah, the thing with Nik's head mic, he always sounded Nasal no matter what. It's because those particular microphones pickup only certain frequencies. If you compare him to a normal microphone which he used on the Musicola tour, you can tell immediately, his voice sounds different. More frequencies and more projection as its not like a head mic (to the side) - It's central.
@@DarkCornerProductions ah never even considered the head mic. Thankfully they are a lot better now! I must have recorded the OGWT then. :-) great to see, brings back so many fantastic memories. Saw him in July at the Rewind Festival and laughed at myself as I get just as excited as I ever did. 🤩 Thanks for sharing x

I saw this tour live in Bournemouth. I think the nasal singing was due to the head set. He was also wearing a lot of make up!!! Not my favourite live tour of his! Radio musicals was much better!
