Hey Lobster! I used to date ReSale King and was in a few of his videos years ago. I just wanted to say how happy i am to see you pop up first on a google search for '06 cabin filter. I hope you are well, man. 🫶🏻😁 I'll definitely be tuning in to more of your garage series
There's a canister behind the battery that is connected but not likely to be needing a change out. It only has one Inlet, so air doesn't pass through it. It is connected to air conditioning, with a little hose.
I couldn't find it on my 01 expedition. I broke the glove compartment door trying to look for it. Same situation as you. But Walmart sold me the filter. The owners Manuel says to replace it, but I'm still looking for it after 22 years
I also have a 2006 expedition and was wondering if you ever opened up that black box and cleaned that mesh..because our AC works fine but when it comes out the vents it's not as cold..but when I put my hand on that black box it feels like a ice box..so im wondering if that black box with the mesh is clogged up and stopping the cold air from going through the vents and needs to be cleaned would love to get some feedback brother🤙thanks
I never opened that box, I don't have the vehicle anymore, so many issues with that year. I would think if it is possible it can be done. I do know that we had to recharge the AC. It worked great then went haywire again, so you might be on to something buddy.
Not sure what the guy who says it’s in the back left of the engine compartment is talking about. The only black box on the left of my 06 Navigator is behind the battery and it definitely isn’t an air filter. I’m with the OP. This filter doesn’t exist. Wonder if Amazon will take it back?
That black box is linked into the vacuum system and A/C. Not a filter, you can replace it and the vacuum hose from the back tends to break, so engine lights for leaks ..I started from there. LOL So I'm going back on the assumption that my vehicle does not require a Cabin Air Filter, and your 06 Navigator. The investigation continues...
What I did was use disinfectant into the intake of the AC unit and laid towels on the dash over the vents and turn the system on the fan side only to low and let it run so this way it pushed out any particles or debris into the towels not into the cabin of the car
@@Lobster619 would it tear or break anything to blast it with the air compressor. Because it's not a smell or germ I have a problem with here. It the physical moutain cedar pollen.
Per some research 2003 - 2006 Ford Expeditions fall into this statement "Our research indicates that your vehicle does not have a cabin air filter (also known as a pollen or AC filter). Vehicles without cabin air filters typically have a plastic mesh that prevents leaves and other foreign objects from entering the HVAC system. This mesh is part of the vehicle and does not need to be changed." If this is incorrect please advise. Thanks for your question.
Yeah there is not one on the 04 to 06 I know for sure. My frined got a newr model and sure enough his was there and stopped up big time. Ours doesnt blow as hard as i feel it should blow so hoping to figure it out asap.
Agreed! Looked exactly like my 09 Nav. I think auto parts stores do list one tho so that is a mystery. Ok, this link is for a Ford Edge but may offer some clues: czcams.com/video/dFipSU-ffnc/video.html

Thank you for the helpful information! Other videos say there is one. Time saver. 👍
Classic stuff I tell ya, classic. Of course I'm watching this video a little bit late, but at least it made me smile. Thanks 🤙
Thanks for watching and taking your time to comment.

I’ve got told it was in there in my 03 expedition bt when i opened it, i cut myself and didn’t find anything. I thought i was crazy…

So how do I clean the ac system blowing tree pollen on my face?

I'll check it out, thanks!
Like with the hood open and look left? Or still inside the glove compartment?

Replace cabin filter on 2004 Ford Expedition

You have to open that box there 5 screws
It's directly above the glove box
Directly above the glove box, is the air bag, you will need to be more detailed. Thank you.

It was a dealer option to either have them or not some trim levels came with it and other didn’t
crazy you can order a part for a car that doesn't need it .. Hmmmmm 🤔
The strangest thing, I will never assume after this point.
I bought one 4 years ago, and ran into this issue? I will check left side under the hood because I did not see it under the GB
