  • MTV produced special of Terence Trent D'arby (Sananda Matreiya) discussing the songs from his sophomore LP, NEITHER FISH NOR FLESH. An under appreciated classic at the time of its release in October 1989, Sananda's visionary approach of refusing to release any singles or videos prior to the release date is now commonplace, with artists like Beyonce and Taylor Swift releasing full video albums simultaneous to their LPs street date. TTD unveiled three videos from the LP in this MTV special, which aired only once. Presented for historical reference. I do not own the rights.

One of the most gifted artist of our time. His voice was something to be hold. It is a shame his genius was silenced by the major labels.

Criminally underrated, Terence a.k.a Sanada is a rare talent indeed.

I remember grooving to Terence Trent Darby, and wondering why he never made more music. His voice was unique and unparalleled. Btw, his locs were bomb!

I remember when TTD first came out. I was like wow who is this guy. His debut album is by far one of the best I've ever heard. Sadly, I think he got in the way of himself. too young for all that attention and fame. He was his worse enemy.

What most people don't realise is that all his albums are excellent, not just the first one. Every TTD album is excellent , and he has released more albums as Sananda Maitreya than he did as TTD

@@qsaselfstorage1708 Yes, someone is listening other than me. Sananda Maitreya is doing just fine. I listen to and keep up with this artist on a daily basis.

plus he was so good as a follow up to Michael Hutchence in INXS. but he sabotaged that one as well after a few gigs

Great lost vid. NFNF is a great nuanced album which was a bit too esoteric for pop audiences but still holds up today.
