Shane Burcaw (he/him) is the author of several award-winning books about disability. He is the President of a nonprofit organization called Laughing At My Nightmare, and a renowned public speaker who has performed across the country at places such as Harvard University, The University of Florida, The University of Connecticut, Princeton University, and many more.
Hannah Burcaw (she/her) graduated from Carleton College, where she studied Sociology and Anthropology. She films and edits the “Squirmy and Grubs” vlog, which has over 1,000,000 subscribers on CZcams. Hannah has spoken at prestigious universities and Fortune 500 companies alike about the realities of ableism. On her popular Instagram account, she advocates for acceptance of all people and works to improve the way society thinks about disability.
Shane and Hannah have been together for over seven years. They got married in September of 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic in their backyard, with their officiant conducting the ceremony via Zoom. Their interabled relationship often confuses people, because much of society still cannot fathom people with disabilities being involved in loving, intimate relationships. Anyone who watches these episodes will quickly see their relationship is just as “normal” as any other. Sure, Hannah helps Shane use the bathroom and brush his teeth, but those activities do not detract from the emotional, intellectual, and physical connection they experience together.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium was already one of my favorite places but now seeing they added that wheelchair pressable door button-they truly are one of the best facilities!
It always amazes me that this part of California doesn’t have more people living there. It is absolutely spectacular.

I grew up close to Carmel by the Sea and it is ENTIRELY unaffordable anymore unless you are a multi millionaire 😵💫 It is absolutely beautiful though ❤

Ok, yes, one of the prettiest places that I've been to in CA!! (NYer living in CA for 20 yrs now) Very sentimental for me, last time I was there I was with my mother, and grandparents, who are all now gone😢I teared up seeing the view of the beach and those majestic trees, beautiful memories. I had a marvelous, romantic night there, in the mid 80's! complete in a cabin with fireplace...a memory that will remain with me for always! Thanx for rekindling this, for me! I suggest, if possible, you take the drive down Highway 1 through Big Sur sometime between Carmel and Morro Bay. Guaranteed some of the most spectacularly beautiful scenery you will ever see anywhere in the world.
It's so beautiful but absolutely avoid it if you are afraid of heights!! My mom and I had a rough time going through there once due to her fear 😅

We went to Carmel-by-the-Sea for vacation right before Covid hit. I think it was during winter, and the day we went to the beach, everything was kind of foggy. We got out and explored the beach for a little bit, then one of my siblings pointed out to sea and started yelling, "Look! Dolphins!" Sure enough, there was a pod of dolphins jumping out of the water not far away. It was unforgettable. On that same trip, we went to Monterey Bay Aquarium. It's AMAZING. I'm glad you were able to have such an awesome vacation, Shane and Hannah. Here's to many more awesome experiences!

Carmel is a Beautiful little town. My favorite part was the "Carmel Mission" The court yard was so Beautiful. Spring is the best time to go through it. I also enjoyed the white sand beach and glorious blue/green water. Awe what a sight. Glad you guys took the trip

I live in the UK and have watched a lot of your videos over the past couple of years. I've been playing June's Journey for about three years and just recently I've started seeing adverts for it on TV. Can't believe you two are advertising it too! They must be doing a big push right now.
Love that hotel stayed there about 30 years ago brought back lots of memories. It even looks like the same view from the balcony. Enjoy.

My husband & I went in a 2 week vacation there (like a Second Honeymoon)!! Loved the Pebble Beach Golf Course!! Deer were roaming around on it!! The restaurant’s are Lovely!! We Also went to Big Sur!! Ate at a Restaurant with a Huge Window!! Beautiful Sunsets!! We had a jacuzzi right next to Our Bed!! Went to Half Moon Bay!! Gorgeous Beach!! The Whole trip was Magical!! Like a Dream Come True!! So Happy you guys Enjoyed Yourselves!! Happy Happy Birthday Hannah!!🙌🙌💓🙏🙏🎉🎊🎂🎈🎈🎈🌺🌸🪭

What a beautiful place to visit and celebrate Hannah's belated birthday! I live in Hawai'i (on the island of O'ahu) so I know what lovely ocean views are like and where you can really see whales in the winter, but Carmel seems to have a calming, relaxing atmosphere, and the cool, crisp air and the chance to sit beside a warm fire do make it a very cozy romantic getaway. However, now that you're in California and much closer to Hawai'i than Minnesota, I hope you will be able to arrange a visit to the islands for a more warm, tropical vacation as the humpback whales do from December to April to give birth to and start raising their young.
And BTW, I have been enjoying June's Journey for about a year now. I don't really care about cluttering up the estate with all those buildings, gardens, and people (so many active players' places can't add anything more), or following the complicated stories closely, but I just like finding the hidden objects and accumulating points to get a few things and keep playing.

Carmel looks amazing! Certain aspects are similar to where I live, Norfolk UK. Gorgeous sunset though and that restaurant looked epic! What an amazing trip, so happy for you guys to have experienced all the awesome.

Aww, I grew up in Carmel. I live about 10 miles away now, but it was so nice seeing you in all the familiar places. There are just hundreds of great little spots all over the Monterey Peninsula. I hope you get a chance to come back and continue to explore!
