I visited here in 2003 and stayed in a hostel for £ 1 a night. Was a wooden beach hut with cold water......absolutely stunning beach with snorkling.

We have been in Southern Thailand for a couple weeks on some of the islands and didn't find it as cheap as we were expecting! Way too many tourist and doesn't feel authentic at all.. :( BUT it is so beautiful, I see why everyone comes here!
It’s definitely very overrun. Chiang mai is the place if you’re on a budget. Otherwise have to know the way around
I guess many people expected thailand to be cheap. Maybe a few years back. But inflation has creep in all over the world now.

great video 👍Looking forward to go to Koh phangan later this year. On foot though so traveling around the island will be in whatever taxies there are. Would it be possible/safe enough to walk on the main streets if you love walking and exploring on foot?
big island with limited transportation. The touristy area can do by foot but I don't recommend staying there at all to be honest. Koh Phangan probably the most scooter needed island
@@Danygotaworldtosee thanks. chilling it is then, and walking when it's possible during the 6 weeks we're there. Going to book a lot of different places to see most of beaches on the island. Island seems to be a bit like Koh Chang with a chilled vibe and laid back life 🤞

I am lucky to live on Koh Phangan with my family. But I believe you are correct with you assumption regarding it changing fast. In the last 12 months there has been an influx of foreign developers who are buying up tracts of land and building high end villas. I am actually writing this listening to at least 3 to 4 chainsaws cutting the jungle but greed or progress you might call it you have seen it before it will be changed forever.
I’m going in November can’t wait 😛

I dont like a hotel like the W because they have private beach. The beach should be for everyone so i like the Thai government to sloop this kind of hotels and make bringing the beach back to his natural environment. Dont now how much this hotel has payed you. You should be ashamed to promote this cruelty.
