Tuas Port - Our Next Lap

Reclamation works for the first phase of Tuas Port were completed in 2021. This marks a major milestone for #MPA in developing Singapore’s Next-Generation Port since works commenced in March 2015.
The scale of construction for Phase 1 was immense, involving a total of 34 million man hours, and partnering over 450 companies.
Soil improvement works were completed for 414 hectares of land, of which 294 or about the size of 412 football fields were newly reclaimed. 221 caissons with a height of a 10-storey building and each weighing 15,000 tons were fabricated and installed to form 8.6km of seawall. Phase 1 has a handling capacity of 20 million TEUs and with a deepened sea beds, it can accommodate largest container ship of the future.
