Beautiful car! I always wanted one of these but was fortunate to get my hands on a low mileage 2003 cl55 amg for $6k. I've been daily driving it for 6 years now and do all my own maintenance. I just finished doing my rockers and an ac compressor replacement. I also make my own carbon fiber parts for my car. Love your content. Keep it coming.

I have one, too. They have depriciated at insane rate. And I can't figure out we why. People who know nothing keep parroting "OMG, the ABC suspension will bankrupt you", but it's simply not true, just flush and change ABC fluid every couple of years. And there's the electronic braking system. Still much less maintenance than most Benz of early to mid 2000. It's a question of changing hydrolic fluids, and you are good to go for decades I have mine since 2005. Internet is full of people parroting what they saw somewhere. Good, I hope they will never buy SL55. They should stick Lexus, or the current, horrible Infinity lineup. They will look like a moms on a school run lol

it's getting harder and harder to find a stock m113k engine r230. I have a r230 with m156 motor I would like to procure a m177 motor and massage it to 900hp and then put it my car. the M156 sounds great but as far as upgrades short of putting a weistec blower there really isn't much you can do

How are the higher mileage (say around the 80k mile mark) SL55’s. Are the drivetrains still reliable? I know the abc issues are a little more prevalent on the pre-2007’s but are there any other issues to look out for on higher mileage ones? I only see pre-2007, higher mileage ones where I live.

Hello. The cars are usually presold when 100% stock and then built to be a turn key product. Sometimes they goto auction sites such as eBay Motors or Bring A Triailer. I have a mildly modified SL that will be ready in about two weeks and another 2 stock SL's ready to be customized 👍

Wow car looks beautiful brother, another job well done. I am in the process of selling my V12 and get into one of these, i love the torque on mine but it's really undrivable with the tune. So much wheel spin and it's also giving me some cooling issues too. I've found a nice 2007 SL55 with the P30 package that i might hop on, hoping to duplicate performance numbers you have now. I think the high HP over the torque makes it easier to drive, i'm currently dealing with 700lb feet and 600 hp so it's not gripping even with 305s in the rear.
