Whatever these vintage components can't do compared to modern ones, but with this bike you'll never have to deal with a creaking "plug-in" bottom bracket. What a beauty!
Beautiful bike. You made the build look easy. Great vid too. You cannot beat the aesthetics of an Italian steel frame with Campagnolo. There’s nothing like it. Well done!
Really cool! On a side note you can get on eBay fresh rubber repro Campy brake pads for those SR calipers. Slide the dried out pads (use WD 40) and slide in the new ones in so your Aluminum rims don't squeal like some scared critter out in the Bush.

Hi there... I was just wondering where you find all those vintage campagnolo parts? I'm looking for a set of 9 speed ergo shifters... are they compatible with c record derailleurs
This particular groupset I found on Facebook, it came from somwhere in Europe. Normally you can find them on ebay or Facebook groups related to classic/vintage cycling. I don't have any experience mixing c-record and this generation of super record, but when c-record was released it was a significant change in design, both mechanically and cosmetically speaking, so, personally I'd steer clear of mixing the 2.
I have the same equipment on my 1982 Colnago Super. Have you found a way of stopping the brakes from squealing? Mine sound like a sty full of stuck pigs when I brake.
I didn't have that issue with this bike thankfully. Pads were in good condition so didn't have to change them, but i did give them a light rub with some sand paper - maybe you could give that a try. I would also make sure the braking surface is clean and free of any oils, I've had squeaky breaks before that were a result of cleaning spray/WD40 residue on the braking surface.
Run a Stanley knife at 45 degrees five or six times like this on blocks / / / / / / rim direction {right to left} little trick we did in late 70s - not silent but avoids a bit of the embarrassing racket !
Park makes a tool. It allows you to bend the brake caliper so the pads hit at a slight angle. If they hit flat often the force of the wheel spinning makes the pad angle forward. Hard to explain. I use a small adjustable wrench instead of the park tool.
eBay sellers sell fresh rubber pads for those SR brakes. I know because I bought them and they are legit. My 35yo Cobalto SR calipers are PERFECT and no squealing
I prefer clinchers for the sake of simplicity when changing and repairing. I like trying out different setups so I often find myself swapping out wheels / tires. That said, tubulars tend to last me longer and roll a bit smoother.
@@peppercycles and to think clinchers were a PITA back in the late 1980s with them Mavic MA 40's or Open 4CD's and Michelin Hi 18mm clinchers. By the early 90s clinchers were easier to install....

Ive had that press-fit squeak issue before - so very painful!
Still beats newer stuff in my Apinion these new bikes are cheating at this point not much pedalling involved 😂😂
The colour, the shape, the ride feel.
Damn! What a beauty!

Thank for watching Vip!
😍
love classic frame .. except that it's hard to find a small sized one .. you're lucky if you can find a 49cm toptube.
The thing about the San Remo is that it goes like a rocket, so don't forget to ride it. As for the porn movie music, probably could do without
Thanks mate, i do appreciate the feedback. Its hard to find a sweet spot with the music, taste being such a subjective thing.
Lovely bike - Wolber Arc En ciel rainbow 🌈 sticker rims would look great too on S/r hubs !
Is ok to use nowadays shimano groupset?

How do you like running tubulars?

That saddle position kills the look unfortunately
