A great way to clean ceiling fans is either with a long sock on your hand or with in a pillow case. Put it over each fan slat then wipe. With the latter, the dust falls into the pillowcase and not on the bed! ... if you can reach, of course!

I do a good job of keeping my house neat and tidy. Kitchen is clean, beds are made, etc. We are empty nesters so it's easier than in the past. But, where I have dropped the ball is cleaning, especially deep cleaning. I haven't kept with a schedule and don't know where to start so I just hit or miss! You've inspired me and motivated me to get my house deep cleaned for spring. Thanks for the video.

This was such an encouragement to me this morning!
In my younger days I would clean my apartment thoroughly, do laundry and grocery shopping all in one day.
I still live in an apartment, but now I do a little bit of cleaning each day, laundry on one day and grocery shopping another day.
I don’t have the non-stop energy anymore and I’ve also realized one or two things out of place now make me feel like my apartment is messy.
You are right when you say you don’t need to do it all in one day and that at some stages of life good enough is good enough.

I used to do Spring cleaning every year and Fall cleaning every year...same as spring cleaning but in the fall. Then I saw someone on YT "Spring Clean" every day and liked this ideas better. For every room in my house I made a list on an index of the things that I would clean during "Spring Cleaning ". I listed them in the order I would clean them...from the top to the bottom of the room. I spend 15 min - 30 min per day working on checking off the things that need to be done on that one index card. When I get through the all of the index cards (rooms) I start over. My house is never more than at most 2 months from having been deep cleaned. My house is now mostly decluttered so I can also go through cabinets and closets on the room I'm working on at this time and declutter/straighten them as I go. I do this in addition to my daily and weekly cleaning. I wish I would have known about or thought abought this earlier.
I really like that idea Julie! It is very similar to a zone cleaning system, which is what I prefer as well - that way it is never overwhelming and the house is always fairly clean. 👍 I think the index cards are a great way to keep track too! Have a blessed week!🏡🌿💚

Hi Robin - your house looks amazing and I can see the sparkles all the way here in Dallas. Rebecca, Rachel and I came to Melissa‘s a few days ago to help her celebrate her birthday. Rebecca works at a college in our town and she’s off on spring break. Rachel‘s off too. And I have been permanently Off since I retired in 2010. Yesterday we went shopping in a small town close to Dallas that had a wonderful local restaurant with the amazing food. It was a lot of fun and the weather was gorgeous. It had a old time Square with the most unbelievable courthouse that had been used for filming westerns. I just enjoyed sitting on a bench and watching the people and feeling the cool breeze while the girls were doing some antique shopping. Your video has me so inspired to get home and start working on my house. I even placed a curbside order to pick up when we come into town tomorrow so I will be set up to eat healthy. I really want to get back on a good eating program after all the milkshakes and ice cream I’ve eaten over the last week when I had my oral surgery. I bet you feel so great about your house. I always thought about whoever bought your house in Austin because it was so well-maintained and you’re doing the same thing in this house. I bet you cannot wait to be able to get out and work in your yard. Your property looks so pretty. Thank you so much sweet friend for all the effort you put forth in putting out your great videos. I think I’ve told you before I don’t just love the content but the way that you film and edit is so professional looking. Love in Christ

I channeled my inner Robin earlier today when I discovered some crumbs and possibly a dead bug 😲in a kitchen drawer. I took everything out, grabbed my hand vac and cleaning spray and did the thorough cleaning that I thought would take too long but it really didn't! This was relaxing to watch on a cold and rainy day in NC (a dusting of snow this morning!). I feel motivated to tackle the bathrooms this week - my least favorite cleaning chore. Thanks Robin, the Bar Keepers Friend worked great on my oven glass door. Unfortunately, some of the cleaner seeped between the two panels of glass. Now I have to figure out how to get between the glass and remove it. I had to get this particular brand Bar Keepers Friend "Superior Cookware Cleanser & Polish" on line but it does a great job. I used it also on the oven racks and the crud came off easily. Thanks again for the tip.

Thanks for sharing. When our knobs were on the front of our stove, self cleaning burnt them. Think it ruined the heating element in our last oven. I have been doing my laundry since I was a teenager. The cat got on my bed a d I'm allergic to them. Washer was free until this morning so washed them along with my two 32-yard skirts. I also washed dishes this morning. I usually dry and put them away no matter who washes them. I cleaned a few things at work as well.

I just wanted to point out that if your faucets are on granite or marble surfaces you don't want to use vinegar on them. I just looked up a safe way to clean hard water deposits for them and you can use a paste of baking soda and water.

Robin I've tried the dish soap/vinegar solution for the bathroom. It worked very well except that it removed the finish from the little ring in the bottom of the sink and I don't know why. Our fixtures including sinks are all Kohler which is a good brand. I use citric acid now and it does help to remove well water deposits. Your ceiling fan brush is amazing! I just put it in my cart it's on sale! 🙂
I'm sorry to hear that! Vinegar is great, but definitely not for all surfaces. Citric acid is milder, so hopefully it will continue to be a better alternative for you. I love vinegar, but even the smell can be irritating sometimes, so I have been using DoTerra concentrated cleaner lately, which also works great. I hope you are having a blessed Sunday!

I have a big mirror over a long vanity wit 2 sinks. I’m only about 5’2”, so I can’t reach the whole thing. I also have some mobility issue, so I don’t climb or use a ladder. My solution is to put a microfiber cloth on my stiffer mop and use some glass cleaner. It works for me. 😊

I believe if you use the bath daily it should be cleaned daily same with shower toilet and sink. Scrubbing tiles monthly. Makes life so much easier and it stops buildup of scum around the bath and shower.

We are going into Autumn here in Australia...beautiful warm days but noticeably, much cooler nights. Thanks to your inspirational one hour long vlog (thank you & go you!), I will be doing a deep clean here as well; getting the house ready for winter...washing the blankets for the couches and beds, dusting out the fireplace, packing up the outdoor cushions, finishing up harvesting the veg patch, putting in compost and then planting the new seedlings for winter. I don’t have glass bottles there, but I have some from Grove Collaborative that are pretty good. The ones I am using in the video are plastic ones from Blueland. I’m just refilling them with the DoTERRA now. Unfortunately the glass bottles that I have seen all have plastic sprayers, so they just don’t last very long. 🤷♀️🌿💚

As I watch you cleaning the bathrooms I thought I asked about 2 areas that are a problem: My wood blinds that a magnet for dust. What's the best way to clean them. The other is my tub. It's a Jacuzzi so extra deep and the glass doors get in the way. I'm short so I have to lean way over making me dizzy. Could I use a Magic Eraser while I'm in tub? That's how I clean the surrounding areas of the tub. Note I have extremely hard water.

A good hack is to crumple up your wax sheet then smooth it over your bowl and it will stay on in the microwave

How do you clean your e-cloths? I wasn't sure if they could be laundered with soap, so I've just been hand washing mine.
Hi Tammy! I machine wash mine with regular detergent. Just make sure not to wash them with other laundry. They attract lint and will loose their effectiveness. 😉🏡🌿💚

Is Your fridge a Bosch? I have one that looks similar except my produce drawers are in a middle drawer that I don't have to open the main refrigerator to get to them. This fridge drives me insane. The right door doesn't naturally close on it's own. I have to manually push it shut. Sounds silly. But the amount of times that I have to get up because the door alarm goes off is too much. No matter how hard you swing the door shut ..it won't. I read about the problem in reviews before I bought it, but thought it wouldn't be a big deal and it was during the whole COVID nonsense and we needed a new fridge. Anyway. Just wondering if yours has this issue.
I also find that unless the side shelves are full. That moderately tall bottles will fall over because the shelves aren't tall enough. On the up side....it functions!
Yes! We do have a Bosch. I love it, but it does have the same issue with the right door. 🙄 It was annoying in the beginning, but we have all gotten used to pushing it closed. We got ours in 2022, so maybe they fixed the shelves. We haven't had problems with things falling over. It got great reviews and besides the right door I'm really happy with it.
