  • The most visited lake in Nepal is Phewa Lake, also known as Fewa Lake (in Nepali: Phewa Tal). It is Nepal's second-largest lake, following Rara. Originally, it was known as Baidam Tal. It's a gorgeous freshwater body. It is located in Nepal's Gandaki province, in the southern section of Pokhara, at an altitude of 742 meters (2,434 feet). It consists of parts of three locations: Pokhara, Kaskikot, and Sarangkot. It has an area around 5.7 kilometers square, an average depth of 8.6 meters, and a maximum depth of 24 meters. The lake has a maximum water capacity of about 43,000,000 cubic meters. The Phewa lake is especially famed for the reflection of Mount Machhapuchhre or Fishtail (6,993 m), and the Annapurna (8,091 m) and Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) ranges are ranked 10th and 7th, respectively. A further attraction around Phewa Lake is the Tal Barahi Temple, a two-story pagoda temple also known as Tal Temple or Barahi Temple. It serves as the religious centre of Pokhara. It is the Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Barahi. Visitors must take a boat to reach this temple, which is located on an island in Phewa Lake and is 4 kilometers from Chipledhunga's city center. Another attraction is Baidam, on the eastern shore of Phewa Lake. It has hotels, lodges, restaurants, retail stores, bookshops, and souvenir shops, among other amenities.
