To me, a bound brim edge makes the hat, and adds a subtlety and style few people understand. The folded and stitched brim edge (under or over) makes the brim edge look too heavy. Most people do not register the difference between a bound rim edge, and a folded edge, they see the hat as an overall 'statement', Harrison Ford, Humphrey Bogart, or whoever, but are little more than a cheap fashion accessory, like socks or scarves. I started my hat journey at a market in Amsterdam where I discovered a stall selling vintage hats, and soon realised that their quality and craftsmanship was (almost) a thing of the past. You guys give me hope that all is not lost. Keep up the good work.
