I worked on a 308 powered LJ Torana GTR years ago..it drove like a spastic on a roller skate....now a LS3 6.0 GTR that would really be hectic. The chats are right "Don't need a fancy car just a 6 litre GTR" .
I have a mate who has been working on a 74 Torana that he's put a Gen 3 6 litre into. Been working on it for 4 or 5 years. Man he's coped some crap over it too because it's a little car that was never made to have a V8 so they had to build a chassis and rebuild the thing. Now he's got a fkn song about the car he's just in bearable.
This track is a banger, and I’ve got every Chats 12” ever released, but l do have to wonder what car they’re talking about. Holden made a 6L GTS-R, the Nissan GTR is a 3.6L. Mercedes AMG made 25 road-going versions of their 6.0L CLK GTR to homologate the race car for the 1997 FIA GT Championship. Panoz also offered the 6.0L GTR-1 Esperante in the late 90s, and McLaren made 100 F1 GTRs which had de-stroked BMW 6.0L V8s in them. But the only “6.0L GTR” was a V12 Lamborghini Diablo from 2001, so l guess that’s what they’re singing about.
He said during the concert that “6L is bigger than 5L so that means it’s faster”. Didn’t sound like they meant any car in particular, but just that bigger than normal is faster and cooler.
Growing up in California in the 90s there was literally hundreds of bands that sounded just like these guys! Not saying these guys are bad but they definitely lack any form of originality
I'm stoked for you in that you got to experience 100 bands that sonded just like this. I, however, did not. I would also venture to bet that 99% of everyone else here didn't either. With that said, your opinion is ALWAYS welcome, just like everyone elses!
