  • The NUX Mighty space is not only a fully-functional practice amplifier but it has the ability to go out to an extension speaker cabinet! Is the NUX Mighty Space better than the Positive Grid Spark? It's got one feature that will blow it out of the water! This is my review and test of the Nux Mighty space practice amplifier.

After watching your review I just got mine!! At 64 I only play in my home and none of the expensive tube combos I went through are effective at volume 2! I kept going back to my Roland Micro Cube and honestly it sounded better at the don't piss off wife volume. Bought Spark 40 and liked it but endless options and overly complicated adjustments. NOW, this little thing is WONDERFUL! Same modeling ability as the Spark but so much simpler and intuitive. Based on your review I also ordered a 12" celestion cab. When I plugged that in....HOLY FING COW! Finally I have the PERFECT amp setup for my music room. It will certainly punch you in the stomach with the cab! Thanks, thanks thanks for the review!

Nux, pronunciation "New X" makes top quality products. The speaker 🔊 out feature is an awesome opinion. I own a spark 40 watt and does have a looper, backing tracks with drums and , all kinds of pedals and will record. The foot switch and wireless transmitter and speaker 🔊 out makes for a complete package 📦. Definitely have to give it a try. I'm going to need a 12 step program for my gear and guitar addiction . I have the Nux Mighty Air the small brother so to speak. The sound is what you’d expect for such a small device but OK and pleasant. Beside that I love the wireless concept and the connectivity. It’s pure fun just to pick this thing up and get ready to play within seconds. I could imagine that the Mighty Space with a looper is even more fun to play even if you have to compromise the ability to take it out traveling as a small practice amp like the Mighty Air. Great review Shane Thanks.

A lot more options on the back than thr Spark 40 I own plus foot switch and the wireless transmitter all make for a hard to beat package. I had to watch this video again. There's a sunami of guitars, amps, pedals and gear rushing into my house. I fear I will be swept away soon forced to practice on the roof. But like your channel, I can't stop watching it. All things aside, your guitar playing is outstanding. Also I love when you review guitar stores especially here in the States like Randy's guitar attic. 🎸 keep them coming Shane. Well done indeed.

I purchased the NUX Mighty Space via Reverb/Hong Kong. It shipped really fast, and I am absolutely delighted with it. The Spark is good too (I have both the Spark and the Mini), but this amp has battery and wireless, and the Bluetooth editor is excellent. I got excellent tones for my use case (the unit is not quite as advanced as my HX Stomp or GT1000Core), but certainly usable in any conceivable performing situation... Well Done NUX, and thanks for the video.

One thing i have learned with amplifiers is to try before you buy.
I have been so let down by buying online only to find that no matter what you try it sounds
nothing like the demo's on CZcams.
My biggest regret was the way overhyped Spark, i gave up on it and threw it away.
The option to use it as a head is a great idea, small built in speakers can only do so much.
If i am ever near a dealer of which they are now none where i live, i will try one.

Sound wise well for awhile it sounded like the spark muddy noooooo
But tweaking it kinda got away from that thank goodness
Can’t really crank up distortion every thing bellow less than 3/4 is good or more at least for high gain
Some settings like you said speakers start to flubber when going up it volume / as a Bluetooth speaker
Sound quality when playing music or backing tracks is ok thought it would be better
But overall happy with the mighty space
But ya the price point is a bit high 100$ less would be more on par
Haven’t tried with a cab yet
    Build quality is A one
    But overall it’s a keeper

Must sound really good "in person" judging from your "Stank Face" while playing the demo. In your opinion, which you do prefer, the Mighty Air or the Spark. Any chance for a "head to head" comparison in the future? I am wanting to downsize in my "Golden Years", don't gig any more, and just mainly play at home. So something like this would suit me better than the amps I currently use. Primarily running a Hot Rod Deluxe III with attenuator and have a Digitech Trio+ and backing tracks for playing. This one might be the answer I'm looking for but need more info before I take the plunge. Help a Brother out here Shane! PS as always great review Cheers!!

Sounds great Shane. I agreed with you about it being a Spark killer until I saw the price of it at Artist Guitars. It's $699aud. I payed under $400aud brand new for my Spark 40 around a year ago and the new Spark mini have been going for under $300 at places such as Manny's here in Australia. I think that's just a little bit excessive and unrealistic on NUXs behalf.

Nu-X seem to keep coming up with good gear. This is pretty versatile and covers a lot of ground between being an all in one convenient practice tool to being a bonafide amp option.

    • @intheblues

I didn't test it with external pedals but it's loud as through a 12" speaker cab. The amp feels as good as the original Mustang III V2 to play. They did a great job.

You can run the Spark 40 into a larger cabinet using the headphone jack. I believe quite a few videos show that being done.

If you’re using the headphone jack, you’d have to either run it into a powered speaker or via another amp first. You can’t go from the headphone jack straight to a regular cab.

10 watts isn't it? Or is a 10 watt one an earlier model?. Whats the Impedance for pluging in an external cab?

On their site, it says the speaker impedance is 4 ohms, but can run at 8 or 16 without an issue. Interested to see what the retail price will be for this in each country. One on reverb from Hong Kong for £385 (US$468)

Doesn't adding a Distortion pedal in front of the amp kinda highlight the inadequacies of the onboard effects?

Not if you want to use your own pedals.

Looks great, until the sticker price hits you between the eyes. $A699.
For that money, I'd just buy a Katana M11 and maybe it has some extra features, but it makes the Spark look cheap in comparison

Sounds great and I bet they sell tons of them! The cab out is a nice feature but if this is a stereo amp give us two hookups! I was staring at my Spark just last night and thinking about how I could hack it to get some stereo cab action.

I have the Nux Mighty Air and the Spark... I use the Nux much more for it's convenience. I find the Spark too boomy, not balanced at all and lacking an external speaker option I think this is an interesting option. The Nux straight into ye conputer is great on the go solution for recording ideas or demos

  • @peterschmidt9942

The amp models all sounded pretty authentic and some great built in features. I suppose the couple of downsides is what happens when the app stops getting updated from NUX and the $700 price tag? Then you're starting to get into the Katana's price range including speakers (you can pick up a twin speaker 100W combo for about the same money).
Oh and it looks like they're not available in Australia until the new year.
