Black Walnut Tincture

  • Black walnut has a lot of medical benifits but is not considered a supplement to be taken for long periods of time. Based on my research you usually take it for two weeks every 6-12 months for a variety of reasons.
There's also a chemical called juglone that's very harmful to other plants and trees. It's not entirely clear if it's really bad for humans but based on what I've read it seems as though it's not much a concern because the benifits outweighs the negatives.
This is also likely why the tincture is used less often.

I just made some just like that, and like you said, 15 minutes and it’s already black. I used apple cider vinegar to do mine though cause I used to be a bad alcoholic, and I have been sober for 6 years now. In other words, I want touch the booze🤣👍🏼. Liked the video brother, and native plants are also something I enjoy researching. Lots of good ones out there!👍🏼👍🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I understand not wanting to use alcohol but you take such a small amount it shouldn't be an issue. But do what's best for you. Alcohol just extracts way better. Peace ✌️ Love and chicken greese

@@DTA-me3kv yeah your right about the small amount, I wasn’t thinking about it that way. That’s all you use is a couple drops in a bottle of water for your insides anyway in case of nuclear fall out, and good for the skin to!👍🏼👍🏼. Gods bless!!✝️

Been sober myself since 2007. Not a drop. Dont miss it. 30 years are pretty much of a fog. BUT. Thank God I found Jesus and he rescued me.
Hang in there man. Dont let nothing or no one take you back there. 😊👍

You did this very wrong. You want green peel only and only use the husk. No meat or nut the antiparasitic/ anti inflamitor is in the green shell.

How do you know if your mixture has gone moldy? I have had my tincture sitting in a somewhat cold room from 7mos. I’m about to strain it, but I’m not sure if it’s moldy or not. I didn’t shack it at all throughout the time it was brewing. Did I mess it up by not doing that?

Wondering what happened? 4 months ago, you had to open it . The alcohol has to be up to the rim. The hulls are corrosive to the lids if it isn't full. But if you skimmed off the bad part, it might be ok😅😂. I use 100 proof. Half water half alcohol vodka. The alcohol is a preservative. So, if the herb isn't exposed to oxygen and in alcohol, it should be ok. Take off the top suspicious layer, if there is any. Strain thru cheesecloth, squeeze with a vinyl glove (stains) into a jar that will hold it, clean rim and cap with tight fitting lid.

@@tammymccoy2520 it actually wasn’t what I thought it was. A more experienced herbalist helped me out, thankfully, because I literally didn’t know what to do. I think my idea of it being bed potentially, because of how long I had it in the jar with the hulls was what freaked me out more than anything. Everyone always says just leave it for no longer than 2 months. When in fact, these things could be left alone for much longer than that under good conditions.

I heard the husk is poison to dogs so wouldn't it also be for us?
