I just got a 93 FD R1 and trying to figure out at what temperature the cooling fans kick in? Tried to do the coolant bleed but had to shut off the engine after 20 minutes because the coolant bleeding funel was getting full with coolant and at 204 F temperature the fans were not turn on. Do I need a new thermostat, water pump etc.??
The stock Fan kick in very high at 221F or something like that. It is normal the water lever goes up when your engine is getting hot, just start at low coolant level like I did, and turn off the car when it reach something like 195F, and let the engine sucks back the coolant, repeat couple times and put the cap back on and watch the coolant reservoir level after each drive.
