- Today we head down to Milford, IL to the Mowrey Auction. Did we end up buying something???

Werner Farms, established in 1960, is a family farm operation based in rural Hanna, IN. The CZcams channel and social media pages are run by Keith Werner, the third generation of Werner Farms.
Werner Farms currently operates on 1,700 acres of corn, soybeans, wheat and rye along with 1,000 acres of custom harvest work. The farm has no-tilled since the early 1980s and continues to increase acres of cover crops year to year. Besides the farm operation, Werner Farms has sold Pioneer Seed since the 1980s. Numerous John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm ranging from a 730 to an 8530.

That sure was interesting. I have never been to a big auction like that before. I only went to a farm auction one time, and that was back in about 1970 or 1971 when I was only about 12 or 13. I think that if a person knows what things are worth, and is a good judge of mechanical condition, that they could probably pick up some good equipment without breaking the bank at an auction like this. Thanks for taking us along!

The 31 foot john deere disk, the 340 case, and the Claas 740 seemed like good buys. You can see where the hours really affect the sales price.Enjoyed this one!

Guess I’m keeping my 740 forever lol. You never really notice the wiper going in a circle and it’s completely out of sight when not in use
That's the first thing I noticed when I got in the cab. Sheesh! That wiper in that 690 is massive!
Heh Milford is about 20 minutes from my hometown Cissna Park Illinois. We bought a lot of our equipment from here.

Im curious do you trust auctions to buy major equipment? My experience has been the scalpers tend to frequent these large auctions and they hide a lot of issues with paint. My opinion anyway. I was told buyer beware with auction tractors. Thank you. Good vid!

Was this like a consignment or dealer overstock auction? Is there a web site that has the prices this equipment sold for?
I believe they updated their website with the prices. No they are just an auction company. Some of the stuff is from dealers that they put on auction.
You bought a corn head or an air seeder. Seriously after watching this video and talking with a few friends. Our next purchase is going to be one of these auctions. Especially on combines. 9870 for under 75 🤯.
