You said it, it's his most complex recording. My favourite.
That white noise low percussion you've cleverly added was a stock trick to make a song sound good on FM radio where an Optimod (or equivalent) was in the path for broadcast. Producers like Quincy Jones and Nile Rodgers got wise to this early one to make a hit radio song but the history of this mystique goes largely uncovered on CZcams.. mastering techniques designed to take into account Optimod on FM radio made every standout hit sound amazing.. no coincidence ;-) Duran Duran, Frankie, Wham, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Tina Turner and a cast of thousand clued-up producers/engineers
