Yes, local supermarkets in suburban NYC area usually have some type of Miso available (but not as much during the past 6 months of COVID). My favorite is Miso with Dashi flavor already added, but hasn't been in stock at my usual supermarket during past 6 months. I bought bonito flakes and Kombu (kelp) at local specialty market, but haven't gotten around to making my own Dashi yet (I'm lazy! ;))
Wow, I am not a parent and I find it interesting how Sutan tries to imitate every gesture or facial expression that you do, she is learning so many things from you and she is forming her personality basing on yours.
As a psychology student, I can confirm that what you said is right 😊 Her mom is always smiling at her and Sutan tries to mimic her, that's how babies learn to understand facial expressions & emotions ! If a parent never smiles, the child will do the same. I'm so glad that those 2 seem to have such a strong bond, we can clearly see how much they love each others, it's beautiful... 💕
@@yukit5317 For one i never had a family so i don't know how to comfort them, my life is full of misfortunes and problems i don't want them to get involved in if, and i doubt my own self.
I love how this approach to parenting seems to be very effective. It allows the child to have a real world interest very early in their life. For a few hours a day she is being trained in chores that she'll have to do in the future and actually have fun doing it. You can see her pretend washing dishes while she waits for the food. It's so adorable.
That's probably because a lot of parents give their babies canned or jarred baby food which tastes horrible lol. Try the sweet potato and turkey, You'll hate sweet potato too!
it probably depends on the culture & what food the parents first introduced to the child as early as they start eating solids. a lot of asian countries make use of vegies for their local dishes. i love how simple vegies can look appetizing in japanese bentos. i hate how some parents would just give their kids boring pb&j sandwiches to school or have them eat pizza all the time during lunch.
Even though I grew up in America, miso soup is something that I enjoy everyday as a Japanese man...! I can't explain why, but I simply love it! Yours looks delicious...
Please, do teach us how to make miso!! I'd really love to learn how to make this kind of ingredients from scratch, since it is very hard to find them where I live... Moe-san, your videos always cheer me up when I'm feeling stressed out, and your and Sutan's smiles make me happy too! Thank you so much for your hard work😊❤️❤️❤️❤️😄
seeing how much Sutan growing up and still adorable since early age.. is very heartwarming 🥺 i wish to be able like sutan's mum one day when i have a baby..
It's true. Years ago, I brought some leftover miso soup to a boil. The miso changed into something that had a tongue-coating, greasy texture. the texture issue transcended any taste issue. Lesson: Miso soup is good cold the next day.
The best part of my Friday evening... Spending time with Sutan and Moe!!! Sutan just keeps getting cuter and cuter 😍😍 I love how Moe connected back to previous videos with the children's frog song, and the Dashi lesson. This woman is a wonder!! 👏👏👏

Hi Moe! I just wanted to share a tip my parents used when teaching me english as a child for when Sutan is a little bit older since I saw that you and your husband want her to learn (maybe for when shes 5-11 years of age). I used to play video games where you learned things, they were from when we were younger so they are a bit old but should still work. They were called things like first grade, second grade etc. I am not a native english speaker but my parents gave me those games in english (they didnt want me to spend all my life in front of a screen so it was like a reward) so I learned while still seeing it as a treat. I spoke english fluently much faster because of it! Books work too but when youre just starting the clicking onto a word to see what happens (like in a sims game) really made me WANT to learn faster too. My father is a university professor so he valued learning alot, he also made me write book reports if I wanted a new toy/come up with arguments for why I should get a new toy. It encourages quick thinking and helped me become an A student in school. I hope these tips helps someone if they are interested, because I think they were really helpful in making me quick witted at an early age.
Thank you Moe-san for thinking about people from other countries when making a recipe! Misso paste is easily found in supermarkets under the 'oriental' aisle, at least here in Brazil (especially here in Sao Paulo, there are many japanese descendants living here) It looks really delicious, my mother would also use eggplant, it is really delicious!
Sutan is a star in the making. It's 4 am and here I am watching this giggling and excited to share this channel with my mother. The things Facebook make you do... Love the channel. Wholesome and super cute.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I'm from a rural area in Germany and could get Miso in the lokal organic store. I made Miso soup with mushrooms, onions, pack soy and beef.
The bond between you and your daughter is so adorable 😍 I love you videos! They’re useful and helpful and give foreigners like myself an insight on your life in Japan 😍😍😍!!
Thank goodness for your channel. I'm so grateful you are showing us how to make Japanese dishes as I am a big fan, especially for Ramen.. Keep up the great work.

I tried this clam miso and it is now my comfort food! I will try that mushroom and asparagus very soon! Thanks for sharing!!! Sutan is so funny and adorable!
Omg, just tried it out today for breakfast, and it turned out delicious! Did mine with leak, carrot, mushroom and sausage, 10/10 would do again. Thanks Kimono Mom, and thank you Sutan (for being adorable)

This is probably a off topic and maybe strange comment but I really love your first name.
As it should be; kids need a (preferably female) parent to model.
Sutan learned “oishi” and hasn’t shut up since😂😂😂 I love her😂❤️

Watching a mother child interaction is the most pleasant experience.

Look...I don't speak or understand any Japanese. However, Sutan's reaction to Miso Soup? I felt that.

American parents should stop generalizing by saying all babies/toddlers hate vegetables bc Sutan is a living example of a baby who loves vegetables
My sister, who is a teenager, I don't think that she would eat all the vegetables sutan eats. She is very, very picky about vegetables. :)
The first thing to make kid like veggies is to make it delicious when they try it for the first time... work every time with all my nephews
That's probably because a lot of parents give their babies canned or jarred baby food which tastes horrible lol. Try the sweet potato and turkey, You'll hate sweet potato too!
