that was awesome I'm almost 65 and I've been listening to Ozzie since I was 18 me and my neighbor used to party and then camp out in my van down by the huron river smoking Doobies lol living in a van by the river according to Chris Farley. L O L, we would leave at eight track on of Black Sabbath one of the best albums out there we sold our soul for rock 'n' roll double album and I played a bunch of Ozzie's music on guitar and I told my neighbor I said listen to the singer guy sing the songs the words, he's a genius that was before I knew Rossi's name but I seen him sing on the midnight special and stuff, this guy is really going to be something. I don't know how he puts those words to that music it's unbelievable. And then he basically became the Godfather of rock 'n' roll and when
Randy came about that first album everybody wanted to play those songs that played guitar we used to go water skiing behind my little brothers boat we had this big power amplifier and we blast Mr. Crowley while we were cruising out into the lake and then crazy train while water skiing you could hear it all the way back on the skis, people probably thought we were nuts but we were screaming Ozzie ya. Funny thing was when I grew up one of my buddies that ended up working for Waylon played country so we'ed play things like smoke on the water than
paranoid, war pigs and then stuff like amazing grace L O L. But his rhythm patterns playing country always kept me interested in guitar so I kept playing all the way going back to 10 years old do you know what. it made me love and appreciate all the music no matter the genre. What I appreciate is the artist and the performance and I teach lotta kids how to play guitar. One of the first things I tell them is go out there hit a harmonic E cord and pull back a whammy bar make sure all your volumes are right everything I say is don't do nothing when you go out there and I said just start ripping it and it'll show up in your performance. Music is taught me a lot. I love a good music story I love Ozzy I wish him the best it is healthcare issues right now I wish he could be back out there or at least still able to do some performances at sometime I know I'd probably go see him I would try to get a backstage pass just to shake his hand and say hell yes. I remember the first time I heard the track, 'Sweet leaf'. It was the Alan Freeman BBC Rock show and that one track sent me on the voyage of Heavy Metal discovery. Discovery of song content came a few years later! I went to see Sabbath at Hammersmith Odeon in 1981 but Ozzy had already left. I was a good concert but how could the group be the same without a singer with such a distinctive voice? Shine on you crazy diamond! No, I'm not confusing groups. Ozzy really has shined on. Long live the Oz!
