What are your thoughts about using small diameter hi collar split lock washers under the cap screws on Harley Davidson Motorcycles to stop them from working loose?

I've got an 02 wide glide that keeps sheering the teeth off the ring gear and pinion gear. what could possibly be causing it to keep doing this.

The solenoid is engaging the drive but the starter motor is not turning the drive gear...possible causes are the starter motor is not getting voltage through the solenoid when it engages, starter motor,or engine locked up

Ron DUNNING I replaced jack shafts spring and coupling on 2005 road king but works in termination it spins but doesn't turn out error everything seems to be coming apart at starter to jack shafts coupling I made sure it was put in with keeper towards clutch side what would cause it to not stay engaged

Question: I have a 2014 Fat Boy with the 103 engine. Over this winter I had SE 585 Cams put in, but now it is harder to start. Does that make sense? It still starts no problem but it sounds like it is struggling to turn over? Any ideas?

First off, it's not called a "solenoid", it's called a "pinion gear"
Second off, Calling it a " ring gear" is the appropriate terminology.
It's actually necessary, it's what the object is called, please, stop being condescending to your buddy, he's just trying to help you.
