Dimmu Borgir was once a great band, one of the best black metal bands I've ever met. But today this band no longer exists, Shagrath lost the essence of BM, gained weight, had children... became an ordinary person.

@@NPC-ej4ql I understand your point about getting older and evolving. However, a band is a type of business with an image associated to it, and their final product is their songs. I think a big part of Dimmu's fans are from an earlier era when they were doing more complex and elaborated music (Especially with the contribution of Mustis and Vortex). So, to me there is a big clash between Eonian and Death Cult Armageddon. The musical quality of Eonian is to me way below an album like Death Cult Armageddon or Puritantical Euphoric Misanthropia. To me it is just sad. Yes, it is normal to get older and evolve, but the quality of the product sold should not be that much altered or compromized.

It's not that Shagrath is old or had kids... the man is an egotistical tyrant in the band. He fired Vortex, Mustis and Nick Barker amongst others. The only person to blame for Dimmu being in the current state they are is him.

Prerecorded choir.. They recorded the scholar cantorum choir for clean parts of older tracks wherever vortex sang..
