Surtr might solve the big boss problem, but Thorns will solve everything else, and contribute decently to solving the big boss problems too.
True thorns is good in everything aside crowded enemies

Totally true, a few days ago I E2 my surtr JUST TO WIN THE MEPHISTO/FAUST BATTLE... literally I was stuck for more than one year at that map... just to get stuck again in the third map of chapter 5 (the insane infected spitters and big chungus spam is absolutely ridiculous) so having Thorns could really help to clear that unfair map xd
@@sylvandoggo4416 Well I passed that map at the first try: I schwing schwinged Mephisto and his minions, replaced Silverash, and schwing schwinged Faust... there is no many problem a true silverash can't resolve.
That's why they're sort of a meta couple

Maybe it's because I'm still not in the game for long enough, but I didn't got it.
@@Aureels Trust farming is when you try to set up a mission where you can beat it with the absolute minimum number of your best operators to farm both the items from the stage and trust for your operators. Thorns is an incredibly strong and versatile operator who can just about solo quite a few stages at high level. While I may switch out the other one or two operators helping with the farm, Thorns is usually always in it and doing the majority of work.
Tl;dr: I use Thorns for just about all my farming needs

Same here, i cant take off from my mind after chapter 8 and vigilo event about priestess. When dokuta have a hard time and must sleep at sarcophagus only her stay beside us.
When i think again about it, when amiya pick we up from sarcophagus the scane really de javu with priestess. And i dont know why amiya so resemble with priestess. It truelly make me curios

For those who noticed, Thorns skill 3 was originally called Supreme Arts but later renamed to Destreza.
Maybe it was confusing players because they will likely thought that Thorns Skill 3 deal arts damage which isn't the case since his skill is still mainly physical damage but with extra arts damage from his talent.
That's like 30% of the reason why it changed, the other big chunk of reason is because the sheer coolness of *DESTREZA* alone
Not to mention he says "This is the true Iberian Destreza" in the voice line so changing it to "Supreme Arts" is kind of pointless.

Great sustained DPS, Ground Sniper range and he can become ANY WAIFU!!
Totally worth your pulls, if you manage to get him that is. On the other hand, I think Thorns would be available as a cert shop operators just a few months after this so I think you can still reconsider

EN doesn't really follow the CN Standard banners so who knows, maybe we can get him sooner than expected
@@ShuraCS I mean, the community have figured out that there's new shoperator every 1.5 months/3 banners, and following the schedule of EN, Suzu will be in around April, Phantom in around May, Eunectes in around July, and Thorns in around August
Ohh well considering that most players would be saving for new ops anyways
they can still hold back on pulling since Thorns, although very strong, is not really a must-have anyways

Been using him ever since I got him by luck at his banner. Very worth an investment. But I guess I'm gonna mastery his 2nd skill in defensive battle sometimes.
Now that his banner is making a comeback, perhaps I would pull for his dupes.
No matter what stage it is always go s3. S2 is bullshit skill if you want hard defense go for defenders instead or hoshiguma

Knew how good Thorns was from using others E2'd version, so I was fully prepared to gacha quite a bit for him. Thankfully I got him in the first 10, so NTR and the other Waifus are still in reach!

Surprisingly got Pot 2 Thorns on my 1st multi alongside Provence so I'm happy. I can save a bit more to get NTR Knight after I went a bit wild trying to get Carnelian. At least Saria came home.

I got thorns and eunectus in the same 10 pull while I was aiming for Andreana instead. Still no Andreana :[
The robot voice really stands out compared to the other Arknights Operator guides that only use text captions with no voice.
He spooked me twice when I was pulling for Weedy.
I didn't level him up for ages because of how salty I was.
Now he's one of my go tos. He's amazing

Wasn't planning on pulling for him (saving for NTR Knight Banner), but I wanted to expand my roster and I notice I haven't gotten any male operators other than Mountain.
I also heard a lot of good things about his role. So This was perfect timing for me :D
I now have 43k Orundum. I can save up until NTR Knight Bannter which will probably be around 46-47k Orundum. I can technically still pull for Saileach banner, but I'm really worried on NTR Banner due to how massive you can get things there.

I got thorns in 40 pulls (RIP NTR savings) but I also got Hellagur which I don't use (pot 2 now)
I technically got him at 5th pull, I did 4 single pull to increase my chance then ×10 pull. I got him in 14 pulls using permits...

Important to note that his second skill counter attack will not deactivate his regen. So that skill will have him constantly regenerating, which is nice

I dunno man, I'm a beginner player and I got both mountain and thorns in the beginner gacha and gotta say, been using thorns much more right now, he is so strong even at E0 LV50

Thorns is tempting, but I have gone too long without Apple Pie, and the NTR knight is getting closer and closer. Eh, knowing my luck, I'll probably get him off-banner as I aim for those other two, just like how I got Surtr in Under Tides and Dossoles Holiday.
EDIT: For the record, I also got Skalter, Chalter, and Kal'tsit off of those banners as well (hey, ex-wife showed up 4 times as I was trying to get W), with Aak as a small bonus. I'm just saying, off-banners do happen.

Then after not getting him, I gave into temptation again and did another 10 pull. Thankfully I got him that time, and hopefully I didn't just shoot myself in the foot with the NTR knight or delay Exu for myself again.
That'll probably be my luck, too. After all, I got a dupe of Suzuran and original of Mountain off-banner (back in the Skalter banner).

I saved for Thorns about 3 months.. 22 single tix & 85k orundum.. pulled for him at 4.30 am.. 4 single tix = he appeared.. lol I'm very happy!

Got thorns on hoshiguma banner as a newbie so good
78 pulls missed the 50 percent and ended up with Hoshiguma. I have gold certs to go for another 38 pull but I will not touch those until the day Surtr appears in shop and I'm a man of my word.
That concludes my journey to get Thorns unfortunately. When I opened my eyes slowly and saw Hoshi's horn, that was some sad shit right there...

I tried my hand in pulling saying fuck it I I'm F2P been saving 60k Orundum pulled for the 1st 4 and got nothing but meh, then the 5th pull boom Exusiai then thought I guess that's it I've finally been lucky then tried again then kid you not I got thorns on the sixth try. Man God must have been smiling towards me I was stunned with the realization that I've got some meta six stars after getting pity pull of phantom and nightingale from previous banners

Hey Frosty, maybe you need to update most of the Short Answers needs to emphasis with: FUCKING YES and FUCK YEAH YOU MUST GET HIM/HER with certain extremely must-have Operators instead of the typical Yes
Thorns:
- 4x3 ranged attack with skill 3
- Can heal himself with his 3rd skill
- Deals a good amount of damage
- Can solo a stage
- Good enough to deal with bosses
- etc
So yes, you should build him up. That is if you don't have a good guard or are just willing to level up your six stars

Had insane luck returning to the game though Had to get 50 pulls for chalter after I did 1 10 pull for kalstit got eyja and kalstit after that I did 30 pulls in eunectes and got her alongside elysium and finally did 7 pulls for thorns.
