  • Our Interrail passes takes us further, and we are now in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
And we are exited to visit the glorious center of the former Austro-Hungarian empire, because that a capital like that is almost guaranteed to be amazing... Or?
Well, yes, the city and it's architecture is impressive, the schnitzel is tasty, but it's not really cozy and we don't feel welcome... And, well, we learned the hard way that this is the second rudest city in the entire world...

In my experience Austrians are rather unfriendly. Salzburg was a nightmare for us

      Oh really, how come? 😯
We visited Salzburg in 2021 and really liked it, so I thought it was a Viennese thing!

@@realvoluntaryexile we just had a really bad experience. It’s a long story but I remember we were trying to get some food because we were starving at the Spar and the worker guy was yelling at us because they were closing. Like 1 minute would have made a big difference to him. He was so aggressive and rude. Also the worker on the rodelbahn yelled at my 10 year old son because he didn’t slow down fast enough for his liking. Just really uptight people that like order and not interested in interacting with foreigners in my experience. However it is a beautiful country in general.

@@dadisphat6426Nah I would also want you to get out of my store if you are 1 minute late. Most stores have a special closing procedure that would take some time do again for just one customer. You are just taking away all of the workers free time, which would make anyone extremely grumpy. Also the safety instructions for Rodelbahnen are there for a reason. If anything were to happen to your son there is a good chance that the Rodelbahn company would be held liable incase of injuries, even though your son was the one who didn’t slow down. You seem like a Karen

Unfriendly? Not really pretty, but I can't say it's especially unfriendly.

Well, it was actually voted the 2nd most unfriendly in the world (after Paris)! But I'm glad if you've had better experiences there than we did 😄

That's true... Horrible city, horrible people. That awful feeling of not being safe while walking at night... Austria is probably the ONLY country I would never visit again. Wannabe Germany...

Oh wow. Except for when the angry Mozart was screaming after me I at least never felt unsafe 😅 Did you visit other places in Austria except for Vienna?

I'm not sure if you know a lot about Austria Maddd Boy. Unless you're maybe a complete nazi nobody wants to be German and there are quite a lot of differences as well between Austria/ Austrians and Germany/ Germans. Plus I don't know where you've been within Vienna but it's actually a very safe country in general. The friendliness of the people can be disputed but your points are very strange tbh.
