When he married the young wife (number 3) we wondered why he didn't marry Mother Coffey. We all knew about her Baptist grandfather and how he and Mason met; we also knew that she thought of him as a father; however we never questioned why he forbade her to marry, even though she thought it was messaged from God through Mason. Bishop Mason and Bishop Ranger of Texas were both so respected! Ranger had highly educated children. His daughter Fannie taught at Saints in the 50's.
