This reminds me of the old OTV podcasts, especially the ones during COVID. I absolutely loved the ease at which the conversation flew and how immaculate the vibes were. :') Not to mention Poki spilling the tea was 🤌✨
I had 3 concussions within a span of a year (14 years ago) and while you get more used to the brain fog I have to say it really doesn't just come back at least not the same that it once was but you get used to having to work around it so in some senses it does get better over time. I also could come up with comeback zingers pretty quickly before the concussions and so now instead of taking a direct path to a specific zinger/comeback, I basically have to hit a fog wall and pivot quickly knowing i won't go past the wall and maybe pivot a few times to get a good zinger. What helped me the most was once I feel like I hit a fog wall I quickly abandon the thought and just start over from scratch (minimizing the time I just sit there at the wall) and so while its not as fast as I used to be its faster than when I just sit there at a fog wall and get that slow mindless feeling and miss the joke opportunity (It works for regular thoughts too not just jokes). Its almost never worth sitting there trying to think through the fog wall and you kinda just have to accept the loss at least thats worked best for me
Really came in clutch. Been dealing with horrible anxiety and health anxiety accompanied with lots of physical symptoms I dont know what came first my dizziness or the anxiety. I think about it all the time now. Now to the point im worried about every little sensation. Ive started CBT and shit. Obviously not happy that you guys have felt bad but feel good that other people deal with shit too. Even if you know it, sometimes its hard to really get it into your head. Its illogical to think youre the only person to deal with problems among billions. Thanks. Oh and I have tinnitus too. But not that frequent, sometimes i just lose hearing and it beeps for seconds to 1 minute and then it goes away. Also jaw issue but its minor discomfort and misalignment, not noticable by looking but It pops if i open my mouth as big as I can.

Toast talking about the concussion actually made me realise that I probably also still have a concussion. I had an accident few months ago where I hit my head and my ear was bleeding, ever since then I felt like I have trouble remembering things, feeling that my brain works slower to process things. I really hope it'll heal/go away after about a year has passed. I honestly thought those things were just me getting older but according to Poki 30 isn't old so I can't be that. But anyways, I'm glad that I listened to this because I would probably keep driving myself crazy by thinking I'm getting older/dumber but it is most likely because of the head injury and that'll go away in time hopefully.
Part of the problem with bicycles in the US is they've been relegated to sports tools or treated as toys instead of a valid form of personal transportation up until 2020 and then interest skyrocketed, so the prices inflated like how GPUs did, but they haven't gone down since then.

It is nice that yall talked about tinnitus. I went through the same experience as Poki did and it was struggle to accept that this is my new reality. Now, I have the same attitude as Lily as its just background noise, but that first few months was rough.
It can be caused by headsets but not directly the sound, so much as the air pressure caused by the headphone seal around the ears. It’s similar to what happens to divers on a much smaller scale.

I came back to this and I didn’t realize Poki talked about magnesium but legit it has been the only thing that has helped me sleep. Melatonin and other sleeping aids had never helped me. Magnesium Glycinate has been my savior.

as an asian i did my research before becoming a stoner cbd is known to help with head trauma but thc binds to body fat so slow mental reactions are slowed compared normal for at least 2 months after last use the only known issues with weed are if your schizophrenic , makes it worse and (if your smoking it) tar build up in lungs

Hi, just want to comment something for toast that he asked at 1:17:00 if your body wakes up when you're under water. I will say it's a no. I'll share personal details as to why. Some people might wake up, but you don't want to risk it. Anyway, when I was younger (middle school years back in '05) I used to take baths simply because we had one at our new place. We......or I was used to just standing showers. One day I was playing with this toy submarine my dad bought me cuz I thought it was cool. Apparently you added some powder and the gases would make it move. Never got it to work so I just laid there. Then I remembered that one time I laid on my back at a lake, water got on my face and went up my nose and it hurt. So I decided to see at what angle it happened. I managed to lay 90° and nothing happened. However the cold water felt so nice on that really hot day. I tried to see how long I could last underwater and relaxed completely to conserve my breath and slow my heart rate. It was so calming I started falling asleep. I could literally feel myself falling asleep, passing out, and sort of enjoying it that I didn't fight it. Technically, I was dying. The only reason I come out for air was because it was so thrilling I want it to do it over and over again. Sort of like a asphyxiation kink. So if you're not careful, you can die. I find it extremely crazy, because I have a fear of drowning and not even a week ago I remembered this. I guess if you panic and fight than you'll die in pain. If you just relax, then it can be peaceful because your brain is telling you not to breathe from the "pleasure". I'm guessing that's how people die from asphyxiation with a belt on their neck. It gets pleasurable you don't fight it and no, it's not painful at all. Please don't try this. I know someone will get curious, but don't. At least not alone or with someone you don't trust. Especially, if you're still a kid. I only did this that one day, it's not addicting but it's very dangerous.

As an allergy doctor, I'd recommend against just randomly getting tested for allergies. Poki is absolutely right that there can be results on the test that aren't truly indicative of allergy.

It is nice that yall talked about tinnitus. I went through the same experience as Poki did and it was struggle to accept that this is my new reality. Now, I have the same attitude as Lily as its just background noise, but that first few months was rough.
It can be caused by headsets but not directly the sound, so much as the air pressure caused by the headphone seal around the ears. It’s similar to what happens to divers on a much smaller scale.

I came back to this and I didn’t realize Poki talked about magnesium but legit it has been the only thing that has helped me sleep. Melatonin and other sleeping aids had never helped me. Magnesium Glycinate has been my savior.

I had this actually! Turns out for me, it was a buildup of earwax in ears, since i use Earbuds a lot. Poki might want to bring it up at a doctor's appointment, and they can clean out the earwax way better.

OMFG idk if this is like me having adhd but I’m so fixated on the table edge in the left side right where toast is. Is that side curving??? Is it not a straight edge table? This table has been here since the earliest OTV podcast and i need an answer. I can’t tell if it’s my brain tricking me because of the patterns of the wood of the table that makes it look like it’s curving inwards. All in all this podcast was funny, great dynamic if not the best out of all of them. I mean you got Toast and Micheal with their contagious laughter. Lily and toast banter. Hi, just want to comment something for toast that he asked at 1:17:00 if your body wakes up when you're under water. I will say it's a no. I'll share personal details as to why. Some people might wake up, but you don't want to risk it. Anyway, when I was younger (middle school years back in '05) I used to take baths simply because we had one at our new place. We......or I was used to just standing showers. One day I was playing with this toy submarine my dad bought me cuz I thought it was cool. Apparently you added some powder and the gases would make it move. Never got it to work so I just laid there. Then I remembered that one time I laid on my back at a lake, water got on my face and went up my nose and it hurt. So I decided to see at what angle it happened. I managed to lay 90° and nothing happened. However the cold water felt so nice on that really hot day. I tried to see how long I could last underwater and relaxed completely to conserve my breath and slow my heart rate. It was so calming I started falling asleep. I could literally feel myself falling asleep, passing out, and sort of enjoying it that I didn't fight it. Technically, I was dying. The only reason I come out for air was because it was so thrilling I want it to do it over and over again. Sort of like a asphyxiation kink. So if you're not careful, you can die. I find it extremely crazy, because I have a fear of drowning and not even a week ago I remembered this. I guess if you panic and fight than you'll die in pain. If you just relax, then it can be peaceful because your brain is telling you not to breathe from the "pleasure". I'm guessing that's how people die from asphyxiation with a belt on their neck. It gets pleasurable you don't fight it and no, it's not painful at all. Please don't try this. I know someone will get curious, but don't. At least not alone or with someone you don't trust. Especially, if you're still a kid. I only did this that one day, it's not addicting but it's very dangerous.

Intolerance tests and allergy tests are not the same!!!! Also the only intolerance tests that are FDA approved or that have been deemed accurate are lactose intolerance tests. And before anybody comes in and tries to argue celiac’s disease that is an auto immune disorder, not an intolerance. The only way to accurately find out if you have an intolerance or a sensitivity is through an elimination diet done by a licensed professional such as a doctor or registered dietitian

Ketamine is called a dissociate because it "dissociates" the pain and memory centers of your brain from those dealing with consciousness and decision making. It's a common anesthetic used in both human and veterinary anesthesia, and yes, we do use it to anesthetize horses. The ketamine clinics Poki mentioned are for treatment of chronic pain syndromes. It causes you to hallucinate and feel quite euphoric, but I wouldn't recommend going down the K hole since it's still an anesthetic drug and can have severe consequences if not used under the supervision of a professional.

Michael's nut-squeeze dream sounds like a sleep-wake disorder dream, where you're actually dreaming while awake. He's awake, but with about 90% sleep paralysis, and he's on his side with his legs crossed in a way that's squeezing his balls. He can move his legs only enough to squeeze them worse. I'm totally serious because I suffer from a similar condition.

As an allergy doctor, I'd recommend against just randomly getting tested for allergies. Poki is absolutely right that there can be results on the test that aren't truly indicative of allergy.
