    That's why in rural areas in India ppl use Miswak... A kind of plant twig as a brush which is 100 ℅ biodegradable.

    I really like how you go into the negative impact of these "eco" things because that is important to think about too!

    One alternative to bamboo: brush gently, use a low-abrasive toothpaste, and your toothbrush should be able to last alot longer.

    Great video! It's always good to consider future impact of our actions, that is after all why we chose eco alternatives.
    Ultimately though I think a bamboo toothbrush is the better alternative to a plastic one, but I wonder if there's a method even more sustainable?

      Glad you enjoyed the video!
      There are a few traditional methods of brushing like using of neem sticks, miswak, etc. But whether it is more sustainable than a bamboo toothbrush will depend on a lot of things, like if it's grown locally where you live 😊

    I wonder what other materials should be used! I think metal straws, and even using different fabrics like hemp for clothing is better than depending on bamboos entirely right? Also fun fact : Bamboo releases 35% more oxygen than other trees!

    • @QuestForEco
      @QuestForEco  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks for sharing that fact with us 😊 There are several materials available and bamboo is also a great one! But it will be a problem if we use it as a throw away material like plastic or use too much of it unnecessarily. Whether a material is sustainable depends a lot on the way we use it! 😊

    I think it will still be sustainable cause bamboo is a grass and grows super fast. We could actually see it growing in real time it is that fast but I can be wrong idk.

    Beautiful and very informative video..I chanced upon your video while looking for bamboo brushes..very thought provoking.. it made me think.. Usually we look at only one side of things while being sustainable and eco friendly,- the positive impact part, but miss looking at the negative impact this could have on the environment, habitat etc.. In the rush to become eco friendly, we should not end up doing more harm to the environment.. Leaving as minimum a foot print on the environment is what we need to work at..

    Thanks for such a great video about bamboo tooth brush. I switched my and my sons tooth brush to be a bamboo tooth brush and it lasted longer than my plastic tooth brush. The question is If I do not use plastic/bamboo toothbrush then what material should my tooth brush be made of? Can you give some alternatives?

    • @QuestForEco
      @QuestForEco  Před 4 lety +1

      Bamboo toothbrushes are definitely a great choice right now. There are few other alternatives as well. Some prefer using an electric toothbrush with a removable head (so that just the bristles can be replaced when required). There are also traditional methods like neem sticks. The final choice depends on the needs of the user!

    Hi...I was rewatching this video,and was wondering....is there like something like a sustainable toothpaste??😕or some alternate that we can use instead of plastic containers and such😶

    • @QuestForEco
      @QuestForEco  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes there is! You should be able to find tooth powder in local shops! Some of them might come in plastic, but they're usually reusable and recyclable, so it's definitely a better option! Tooth tabs and toothpaste in metal tubes are also an option, but might not be as easily available.

      The brush handle is made of bamboo. The bristles are usually a type of plastic.

    You have gone way beyond to put the negative impacts apart from the Bristles other impacts are not at all comparative to what the plastic toothbrushes been causing for so long. So 100% better to use bamboo brushes than the plastic ones. The shift will take time. I don't agree much with the deforestation thing though. People please see the benefits and for heaven's sake start using bamboo toothbrushes.

    • @QuestForEco
      @QuestForEco  Před 4 lety +2

      Bamboo brushes may be a good choice for many now, I agree. But I think it is important to be aware of the consequences of over-consumption of such eco-friendly products too, so that we avoid/ reduce the impact.
