Even as a kid I related to maleficent... she wasn't horrible. She treated the villagers like they had treated her. They treated her like she had no worth and she simply returned the favor. She was fierce, brave & beautifully misunderstood.

She got maleficent in trouble multiple times by calling her mother, maleficent may not find true man love but this character has such a nice heart that relates me. 😢 watched this movie yesterday, what a movie.

It's crazy that here it shows that true love can be the love between mother and children too, it's crazy how Disney is like "get yourself a man" in all of their movies 💀 also the fact that snow white is 14 and prince is 32, drives me nuts
It's true for old Disney. Disney is improving nowadays. You know, with actual strong and independent female characters, without the love at first sight and prince charming trope. Frozen, Maleficent, brave, tangled etc.
I love the reinvention and reconstruction of maficent. She fell in love with a little girl she changed from what she was to a great foster parent. Every child should be this lucky and a new parent blessing that child. I wish disney could revision othe characters to this level. It's a great lesson in the story and a great change. Writers should take notes

Maleficent wasn't born evil nor was she inherently evil, she was just broken by the betrayal of King Stefan or she thought, the one who actually betrayed her was one of Stefan's generals who made her think that Stefan hated her. But in this movie towards the end you could see the admiration he still carried for her and her unwavering protection she bestowed onto Aurora.
I love how her mother can turn into a dragon, as I remember it and is a beautifully midunderstood atring and beautiful Dark fairy, ruling her own queendom, the woods.
Now I see why my mom watched this movie so much and I could never watch it with her something in me just wouldn't let me sit and watch it and I see why now

I think she couldn’t touch it because it was made with some sort of poison that fairies can’t touch. Not sure if I’m remembering correctly
